Hawkwood Farm is a historic property in the Catoctin Mountains. The house dates back to 1803. At that time, it is documented that there was a blacksmith shop on the property. There is a functioning blacksmith shop today, as well as an expansive wood working shop. A ;band of rhyolite runs through the property that was used by Native Americans for spear points dating back to the paleolithic period. Presently, we strive to live as sustainably and as closely to nature as possible, being good stewards of the land that we are blessed to call home. If you are looking for lots of open space with a sensational view of the sky then this is the place for you! This site is great for viewing all kinds of celestial events. You will also have access to the rest of what Hawkwood Farm offers including forest trails and an array of wildlife. The summer kitchen and its loft are outfitted as they would have been in the Victorian times, with implements for cooking, canning, candle making, herb and plant processing, braided rug making. etc.
Also, part of the stable is set up as a eating area, and the barn and hayloft as a hands on Farm museum to explore. Old fashioned games and rope swings and Arts and Crafts for additional fun.

Hosts were great! Our car got stuck in the mud, and the hosts helped to pull it out. We also ended up needing help to start the fire, and they immediately came over to help. It is a great place to camp, especially if you are a beginner!

Camping on the meadow at Hawkwood Farm was a delight. The campsite is back far from the road in the midst of fields, but you can drive your car along easy paths up an area very close to the campsite. The design and landscaping of the meadow area is very charming: a large ring area with mown paths and circles within it, and a firepit, picnic table, and some camp chairs in the middle. An extremely quiet and peaceful place. There's also a clean and well-maintained port-a-potty that's about 200 yards away from the campsite. I will likely come back for another stay (and hopefully persuade my girlfriend to join me)

There is no micromanaging at this property.
They let you be you and enjoy yourself.
I ran out of firewood around 8:30 p.m. and sent a message about two cords which is $20 and he brought it out within 30 minutes..
Awesome property thank you guys so much.
I did leave a bag of trash bagged up right there by the fire pit.
I'm from out of town just traveling through and didn't know where to put it and I definitely did want to throw it in the woods.

We absolutely loved camping here! There is beautiful landscaping with mowed walking paths all around the property. The open field allowed for stargazing without obstruction of view from trees and we saw some shooting stars in the early hours of the morning. We woke up to the sounds of roosters from the property and surrounding farms. There is a provided grill to put over the fire to cook on. Chairs and picnic table also available. The property is also an 11 min drive from Gambrill Park if you’re looking to do some hiking!

This was the perfect place for a one night respite before everything in the fall gets busy! I loved hearing the trickle of the stream throughout the night and having a nice fire and having the place all to myself. The hosts were fantastic and I will definitely be coming back!

Camping at Tamara's was relaxing and an overall pleasant experience. Watching the sunrise over the mountains in the morning, warming up by the fire at night, and spending days with the sweet animals was a blessing. Between the arts and crafts (really fun for little ones), learning about historical tools (think Little House on the Prairie), and improving my skills for fire building and cooking over a fire, this was a delightful and educational experience. The location is near hiking trails with great views, and near several ice cream shops (a great treat after a good hike). Tamara is a good host. This is definitely a location that I hope to return to.

The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We had a wonderful time at Tamara’s farm. We were welcomed with farm fresh eggs and firewood our first evening where we sat bye the fire and cooked yummy hot dogs and corn.
Our teens stayed in a tent - their first time camping in a tent and loved the experience.
In the morning we took a long morning walk taking in all the nature - the weather was fabulous.
Tamara shared some of the history of the region and we spent the afternoon hiking in the mountains where there was an overlook which was stunning.
If your looking for time out in nature in a rustic setting with warm hospitality we highly recommend Tamara’s cottage.

My family had an absolute blast at this absolute gem!! The property is beautiful. We stayed at Rainbows End, which was a private spot by a flowing creek into a fishing pond. There is a picnic table and fire pit in this great little nook under the trees. It was a truly relaxing spot. If you have little kids, it's the perfect place to let them run while you read a book next to the fire. And the hosts Erin and Angela were amazing. They are honestly wonderful people who were a joy to connect with. We will be back for sure!!

This is my number one go-to spot.
Yes, I live in Frederick just 20 minutes away, and I totally extended my booking last time and went ahead and went to work and came back to this amazing space in the evenings.
It’s just the best ever.
I’ve been camping and backpacking for years and the spot is beyond lovely. I recommend it to all my inner circle
AND I gotta say a part of me (not the higher self) doesn’t want to tell anyone about this gem.

2 nights at CLOUD NINE VICTORIAN FARM
Tamara has a beautiful property with a tremendous amount of indoor and outdoor space for guests to use and enjoy, with ample on site activities too. My family loved the sleeping space, crafting space, chickens, and making a bonfire the most, but it was all great. Tamara is a wonderful hostess with many recommendations for us, and made us feel right at home. I hope to go back and relax there again soon!
