The Indian Rail Trail, Charles County's most exciting recreational trail, is just a 7-minute drive from your tent. This paved, 13-mile-long, ten-foot-wide path is an excellent excursion for bikers of all ages, connecting the small town of Indian Head on the Potomac River to White Plains. The fairly level trail takes riders through mature forests, natural wetlands, and some farmland. During your stay, you can also take a 10-minute walk through the forest on our property to visit a serene creek. Your Signature campsite accommodates up to 6-10 campers. The basic booking includes space for 4 campers, with 2 sleeping on the Queen Bed in the platform safari tent and 2 sleeping in bags on the floor. The site also features a picnic table, fire pit, and Adirondack chairs where you can relax and stargaze at night. Atlantic Kayak Company is a 20-minute drive from the site, offering kayak rentals and guided expeditions. For families, Sky Zone Trampoline Park is a fun activity less than a 10-minute drive from the campsite. A Walmart is conveniently located about 10 minutes away for any supplies you may need, and local produce can be obtained on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the La Plata Farmer's Market (12 min drive) between April and November. The Road To Serenity: Our road is a quaint old country farm road made of grass and a few gravel patches here and there. It is a bit of a bumpy ride, so take it slow and easy as you make your way to our hidden getaway. There is one sharp left turn over a culvert and some dips and mild inclines, so low-sitting vehicles should definitely take it slow. The road narrows as you get closer to the site, but there are reflectors along the way to keep you on the right path. We highly recommend arriving before dark. Parking: Parking is on the grass meadow between the entrance to the meadow and the walking path to the campsite. Reflectors are in place to outline the parking area. Avoid driving beyond the parking area and down steep inclines in the meadow, as softer ground presents a risk for getting stuck. A gorilla wagon is available in the parking area to help transport your belongings to the campsite. Toilet and Shower Set-up: There is a privacy tent that contains a toilet seat over a bucket. Place a bag with absorbent materials in the bucket for your biological needs. A portable automatic shower providing hot water is also available. Pets: For the safety of your pets, ensure that they are treated for ticks prior to camping. Be sure to check for ticks before bringing pets into the tent. Noises and Sounds: This property is located in a rural community, and campers may occasionally experience common city noises such as airplanes flying overhead, distant traffic, or distant firearm shots. It is a great site for city dwellers who enjoy tranquility but not complete silence.

We sit on the Mason Dixon line with a 1764 historical marker on our property that divides the towns of Federalsburg, MD and Bridgeville, DE. Even though we are 5 miles from either small town. Our farm consists of 41 acres total with our Homestead on 31 ac. The other 10 ac. Unplugged Forest, sits just off a dirt road that our non-tidal creek divides from our homestead. The best part of our secluded location is being close to popular towns like Easton, St. Michaels, Cambridge or Ocean City in Maryland. In Delaware cities like Milford, Milton, Rehoboth or Lewes are top rated. Whether it's city, sand, seafood or beach festivals you desire, you're only within an hour or less away. We have created an off the grid, calming nature experience for you to enjoy privately. You will be surrounded by forest, tilled farms, horse farms and an abundance of wildlife. Native and wildflower gardens, fruit and nut trees were all planted just steps away from your tent areas in September 2024. Giving you a place to unplug from the everyday chaos and enjoy all nature has to offer. We even made a space that includes everything one needs to have a Forest Tea Party. Inside Uncontained, read a book or play a board game in this cozy shipping container we repurposed for you. Or just take shelter from a summer pop up thunderstorm. Nature provided a hammock area amongst the tall pine trees and we provide 7 hammocks to nap in. We also provide, chairs for the fire pit, picnic tables, charcoal grill, a propane cooktop. You can't truly enjoy our space without walking the short on Jeremiah Dixon and Charles Mason Trail. A path they would have taken in the 1700’s. Adventure through the forest and over the small creek to our homestead to place one foot in both States at the historical Mason Dixon marker under the old wild Cherry tree. Be sure to stop at the 8ft bluish grey farm gate to pets the Goats, Dixie (brown) Dolly(blonde) and Star(black).

I was planning to camp at a State Park but made a last minute change, and I am so glad that I did. I stayed 2 nights, and I camp quite a bit, so I know a great camp site when I see it! Camp layout & privacy: There are several designated spaces to choose for your tent. They are all in nicely shaded spots, and the ground was pleasantly soft. You have the entire place to yourself, with no visible neighbors, though you will hear occasional (minimal) road noise. Amenities: Shayne has thought of everything, and then a few more things! I am used to very primitive camping, but it was cool to see that some camping essentials were also provided. This would be a great place for people who are just getting started camping! The Uncontained indoor space was amazing. It smelled of lavendar and provided a very sophisticated indoor space. The fire pit and chairs were perfect, and I made use of the throw blankets when the evening around the fire got chilly. The bathroom was very clean and well maintained, and there was even a handwashing station. I also enjoyed several hours in the hammock. Local area: Right by the site is a small walking trail, as well as a bridge where you can feed the turtles. I did both :) The nearby towns provide any essentials you may have forgotten, and I enjoyed a river walk in nearby Federalsburg. I also was able to drive 1 hr to visit Assateague Island, which was a bucket list item for me!

2 nights at The Unplugged Forest

I cannot praise Shayne’s Hipcamp enough. I stayed here with my pooch for two days and we had everything we could possibly need. While staying at this Hipcamp, you’re offered 4 sites to tent that are all within a super quick walk to the Porta-Potty and the refurbished shipping container (Uncontained). Though the directions are very clear and consise, Shayne is still there to meet you to show you where everything is & answer any questions you have. We tent camped at the “mushroom” site which was very well shaded and close to both the bathroom and Uncontained. We had firewood waiting for us along with any camping amenities you could think of. Night 2 got colder than we’d anticipated and Shayne informed us we were more than welcome to utilize the cots in the Uncontained and stay in there which we did. She’s put a ton of work into making this spot the perfect place to getaway from the well maintained property to the whimsical tea party setup near the Uncontained to the endless supply of camping amenities you may have forgotten to pack. If we’re back in the area we know where we’ll be staying. Thank you for everything Shayne!

We had such a wonderful stay at the Circe! It was such a lovely getaway for slow mornings, sipping on coffee, reading and enjoying the views. Our favorite thing to do was cook dinner and eat outside under the stars. Mark was a great host and Colonial Beach is just 4 minutes away. We will definitely be back again!

Charming, carefully/well thought out set•up; uncontained is adorable!!! Even though I didn’t get around to checking out the trail this time, I definitely would during another stay! Yes, I plan on returning!! Host is super friendly, responsive, and helpful. Unfortunately, I had to cut my time there short when I started not feeling too well (totally unrelated to the camping experience/campsite, fyi), and the host was very gracious around that and helpful with that unexpected issue!!

I absolutely loved my time at Lacy Oasis! I wad the only camper there at the time, and it felt very private. The whole time I was surrounded by beautiful, peaceful, quiet forest. The host is amazing as well, showing me all around camp, and checking in occasionally to make sure I had everything I needed. Weekend Trip to Circe The Airstream

Cozy, clean and classic experience! Late February early March is an extremely quiet and cozy experience in the Circe airstream with likely only a visit from wild birds. I highly recommend a visit to the airstream of Virginia to enjoy your time fully in a 1984 airstream and appreciate the level of quality from this company. Mark was a super super host and thanks to his accommodations our weekend turned into some great memories. I sincerely appreciated the communication and local suggestions to open restaurants, breweries, and sunset opportunities less than 5 miles away. Mark‘s place really sets the stage for exploring a beautiful part of Virginia even further if you have more than two days or a weekend.
