Note: For the winter months we are closed, we reopen in march. The furthest we are open at any given moment is about six months. We close when hunting season comes in during the fall. Description of camp: This is not a glampsite! There are limited utilities here. No Drinking water, just water for the fire. There is a self serve firewood store, you may also forage dead wood. Here only one group may camp at a time. The campsite is a big level hilltop clearing surrounded by acres of woods. There is stone driveway that leads to the site that gets you back into the woods. The driveway is wide enough for trucks, trailers, vans, etc. Since the site is up high it gets a great breeze which helps on warm days and gets good cell service. The campsite gets great sun and has shaded areas along the sides that make for good tent pitching. We have had people set up hammocks, tents, tarps, or camp in their vehicle. We provide a privy (outhouse), an outdoor showerroom/changing room, picnic tables, and a metal fire pit with grill rack that you can put in the fire pit if you wish to cook/grill over it. The woods are hilly so biking is not recomended. On the property we have 2+ miles of hiking trails. PLEASE feel free to contact us for any questions. Also please look at our pictures for a better idea of what we offer. Nearby Activities: A short drive from here will take you to Gettysburg, York, or Hanover. Codorus park offers great hiking and is next to a lake. There are many excellent restaurants and brewpubs nearby, including the award winning Warehouse Gourmet Bistro and Brewpub. This is the second time camping here and it was just a wonderful as last time, even in the cold weather. I loved how 2 of the goats came to greet us and looked so happy to see us! We loved our stay! Anne was very welcoming and helpful. The property is in a rural farming community, yet only 20 minutes to Kennett Square or Longwood Gardens. It’s very relaxing and quiet. Anne has a mudroom on her house that we were able to use that has a bathroom and sink. While the spot is in a carriage house driveway (we were also offered an option a little further away in a field), you still have a good sense of privacy. Anne left eggs and some veggies on our doorstep the first day. The entire trip was great and we’d definitely return. Anne is a lovely host who goes out of her way to make sure you are happy.

I l-l-l-loved everything about it! A beautiful ride. Arrived at the barn and was met be our charming host. A walk/ride past the farm animals to a seclude area up on a hill. The yurt was so cozy and inviting. Best cot ever. I will never sleep on an air mattress again! Great for one or two people. Plenty of spa e for additional tents if you need that. Big fire pit and LOTS of wood. Easy to cook on the fire pit but bonus propane grill and really convenient and stocked prep/kitchen area. Even soap and water dispenser setup for ease of cleanup. Delicious icy cold well water for drinking, too. We were also gifted some of their honey and eggs 🍀 Then there’s the farm! What a sweet experience. We got to feed the animals and collect the morning eggs. Walk to the Brandywine Nearby Creek for a beautiful walk along. I recommend! This is a special place!

We had a wonderful time camping at site 2 at Tom's place. It was so peaceful and beautiful and a short walk away from some great trails at the next door neighboring park. Room was a great host. He spent a while with us to show us around, introduce us to his goats, chickens and geese, and tell us the history of the area and his property. He had a working bathroom, a coffee machine, which was awesome because i forgot my coffee, and we bought a dozen of his farm eggs. After that he gave us our space and privacy but let us know he was available if we needed him. We can't wait to come back.

We had a great weekend camping at Tom's place. Site 2 was private and wooded. We loved interacting with the goats. Tom was an excellent host, and having a real bathroom available was a big plus for my group. You do have to cart your belonging down a hill (and back up when you leave), but sturdy carts are provided, and it maintains the peace and quiet of the camping spots. Would definitely recommend to others.

Such a lovely time! The camp site was put together very well. It had a kitchen, Living area and the tent. Everything was very clean and we had everything we needed. My daughter got to feed the animals, we were gifted fresh eggs we picked from the chicken coupe as well as fresh honey. We would for sure camp here again!

We loved the island and La Mar was an amazing host. 5 of us spent a weekend on the island. If you have no experience canoeing, be prepared. Being from NYC, we are inexperienced and it took us an hour to row the mile to the island against the tide. if you can get your own power boat to take you there, it will make life a whole lot easier. definitely a challenge, but it was amazing once we made it. The island is relaxing for a weekend. You also get to do some fishing, though we didn't have much luck in October. also - low tide is really low tide. don't plan on going out until the tide comes in a bit. I would recommend taking lots of firewood and a portable toilet. I can't say enough about how communicative and accommodating La Mar is. We're already talking about our next trip.

Excellent stay! Greg and Abbie were so welcoming and made sure I had everything and anything I could need (which was already there). Took my jeep up to the spot, the teepee style tent kept me dry in the rain, the cot was comfy, and having the couch was an added bonus. I appreciate not having to set up anything (my body wasn’t up for it). I loved feeding the goats and horse, petting the pony and pigs, seeing the chickens. Sunset was lovely. It was peaceful and just what I needed. Close to home, but far enough away. I will definitely be back!

Just had the most magical stay! The host was so friendly and helpful and the site and experience were exactly as advertised. My son and I got to feed all the animals (pigs, goats, horse, pony) and meet the sweetest kitten in the world. The site has everything you need for a cozy stay: clean water, a big fire pit, pans and a grill for cooking. And in the teepee there's a comfy couch for snuggling up before bed. Bring sleeping pads and prepare to snuggle up if you have more than 2 people! Site felt totally private and had a perfect view of the sunset. We had a delicious breakfast 10 minutes away at Two Birds Cafe and then spent the day at Longwood Gardens 15 minutes away. It was a 24-hour getaway that felt like pure heaven. We're definitely coming back.

We had a great time camping here. We arrived in the dark later than anticipated and Tom graciously met us when we arrived and took us to our site. Site 4 is up against the tree line a short walk from where you park next to the house. You aren’t deep in the woods but there is tree cover above you. You’re also set away from other sites, so it feels very private. The site is sort of in a hill, but it has a few spots that were flat enough for our tent. The site has a fire ring, picnic table with tablecloth, a few plastic lawn chairs, and a plastic end table. There are a couple of chicken coops as well as geese, goats, and sheep which were all fun to visit. There’s a small “camp store” (mudroom) attached to the house which is open 24/7 and is only a couple minute walk from the camp site. The bathroom is accessed from the mudroom. There is coffee, s’mores kits, and other camp necessities for sale if you forgot anything. There are carts available to get your gear to your site. There was plenty of deadfall wood around for the weekend,, but Tom brought some split wood straight to our campsite and we had a very nice chat. There is direct access to the Hibernia Park Rim Park Trail from Tom’s property and we had a great hike along it. Overall, we highly recommend this site.
