Escape the chaos of everyday life and experience true relaxation at our hidden gem glamping site! The Indian Rail Trail, Charles County's most exciting recreational trail, is just a 7-minute drive from your tent. This paved, 13-mile-long, ten-foot-wide path is an excellent excursion for bikers of all ages, connecting the small town of Indian Head on the Potomac River to White Plains. The fairly level trail takes riders through mature forests, natural wetlands, and some farmland. During your stay, you can also take a 10-minute walk through the forest on our property to visit a serene creek.
Your Signature campsite accommodates up to 6-10 campers. The basic booking includes space for 4 campers, with 2 sleeping on the Queen Bed in the platform safari tent and 2 sleeping in bags on the floor. The site also features a picnic table, fire pit, and Adirondack chairs where you can relax and stargaze at night.
Atlantic Kayak Company is a 20-minute drive from the site, offering kayak rentals and guided expeditions. For families, Sky Zone Trampoline Park is a fun activity less than a 10-minute drive from the campsite. A Walmart is conveniently located about 10 minutes away for any supplies you may need, and local produce can be obtained on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the La Plata Farmer's Market (12 min drive) between April and November.
The Road To Serenity: Our road is a quaint old country farm road made of grass and a few gravel patches here and there. It is a bit of a bumpy ride, so take it slow and easy as you make your way to our hidden getaway. There is one sharp left turn over a culvert and some dips and mild inclines, so low-sitting vehicles should definitely take it slow. The road narrows as you get closer to the site, but there are reflectors along the way to keep you on the right path. We highly recommend arriving before dark.
Parking: Parking is on the grass meadow between the entrance to the meadow and the walking path to the campsite. Reflectors are in place to outline the parking area. Avoid driving beyond the parking area and down steep inclines in the meadow, as softer ground presents a risk for getting stuck. A gorilla wagon is available in the parking area to help transport your belongings to the campsite.
Toilet and Shower Set-up: There is a privacy tent that contains a toilet seat over a bucket. Place a bag with absorbent materials in the bucket for your biological needs. A portable automatic shower providing hot water is also available.
Pets: For the safety of your pets, ensure that they are treated for ticks prior to camping. Be sure to check for ticks before bringing pets into the tent.
Noises and Sounds: This property is located in a rural community, and campers may occasionally experience common city noises such as airplanes flying overhead, distant traffic, or distant firearm shots. It is a great site for city dwellers who enjoy tranquility but not complete silence.

We certainly were pleasantly surprised to be able to camp in the goat field. When the goat farmer removed the goats for feeding into another fenced in field, our dog could run around. The porta-john onsite was a plus.

Weekend Trip to Circe The Airstream
We had such a wonderful stay at the Circe! It was such a lovely getaway for slow mornings, sipping on coffee, reading and enjoying the views. Our favorite thing to do was cook dinner and eat outside under the stars. Mark was a great host and Colonial Beach is just 4 minutes away. We will definitely be back again!

We live about 20 minutes away, so that was a big draw. Our lab pup loved Broad Run Creek and we similarly enjoyed sitting in our chairs in the water. The water access could be better; a little steep and slick after wet, but manageable.
Site?: overall great. First, promixity…huge win. It’s not very “rough” camping of me but since it has an address, DoorDash will deliver here. That was a big plus on our first night so we didn’t have to fuss with camp kitchen. Second, the “top” clearing right over the bridge is shaded and great for setting up tents. Downside, not very flat and some pretty large rocks on the ground. If they put some gravel or even just backfilled with some topsoil, the more even ground would be a huge win. Third, bathroom situation was fine. We knew the compost toilet was gonna be our option, but the little pop up tent it’s in is way too small. My wife is 5’3 and had to duck to get in and out. When you have to go, having to fidget in a tight enclosure isn’t great. Fourth, although private, definitely in a residential area. Not sure if it was because it was a holiday weekend, but a nearby house/property was BLARING music all day. Not the relaxing oasis we’d hoped. Aside from those minor things, site was really nice, communication was easy, and we’ll be back.
Be very aware that there are ticks GALORE out here. Our pup had at least 7 on her we pulled off and we found a few on ourselves as well. Plan accordingly!

This was the BEST camping at the little goat farm than all the other 22 camp sites we have been. We have cancelled our other camp and asked Bob if we could stay another month. We have really enjoyed feeding chickens, little goats, beautiful alpacas not to mention so much we have learned. The views are spectacular, swimming and fishing the clear clean lake and the exquisite quiet and calm of this land all take my breath away. They dont have many sites available so you are lucky if you can get in plus the other 2 campers have stayed on since last year because they all love being here too. You couldn't ask for better hosts than Bob and Susane!

My stay has been amazing. Susane and Bob are very welcoming and kind. Learning how to feed the goats, chickens, alpaca, and donkey is interesting and fun. All of the animals are fed well and cared for. The work makes the day go by fast and there is something to do everyday to keep things interesting. Weekend Trip to Circe The Airstream
Cozy, clean and classic experience! Late February early March is an extremely quiet and cozy experience in the Circe airstream with likely only a visit from wild birds. I highly recommend a visit to the airstream of Virginia to enjoy your time fully in a 1984 airstream and appreciate the level of quality from this company. Mark was a super super host and thanks to his accommodations our weekend turned into some great memories. I sincerely appreciated the communication and local suggestions to open restaurants, breweries, and sunset opportunities less than 5 miles away. Mark‘s place really sets the stage for exploring a beautiful part of Virginia even further if you have more than two days or a weekend.

What a wonderful experience! I'm a traveling nurse and my spouse and I stayed here during my contract. My spouse worked 4 hours Monday through Friday on the farm to cover our stay. The biggest part of the work is feeding the animals and then little things here and there around the farm. We didn't realize how much work a farm is until this stay. Susane and Bob have been wonderful hosts and we would definitely stay here again.
We travel with dogs and there are plenty of places for the dogs to explore. It's extremely quiet here so after a day of hustle and bustle this has been a wonderful spot to come back to.
If you are looking for a unique experience, look no further! Goats, chickens and bunnies are waiting for new faces.
