If your neighbor can hear your music it is too loud. If your host can hear it, you will be asked to turn it down or off all together. -This is a pack it in, pack it out site. This includes food waste, dog waste, and any garbage produced. Please respect that :) DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BURN ANY WASTE IN THE FIRE RING BEFORE CHECKING OUT. -There is NO FISHING, kayaking or boating. Go for a swim and float, no prob! But please float in the vicinity of your camp, so as not to disturb other campers. - Please do not invite visitors to your campsite. If you’re down for a little history (and maybe a little mystery) Cedarville State Forest will definitely dazzle. The 3,510 acre forest was once the winter camping ground of the Piscataway Tribe because of the mild climate and abundance of game. Legend claims that there is a Native American burial ground within the forest... but it has yet to be found. Spooky! Equestrian, family and youth group campsites are available for your overnight stay. 19.5 miles of horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking trails weave through the forest. They pass a number of historical features, including the loblolly pine plantations that were planted by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's, by a charcoal kiln, and through farm areas whose springs and streams were used to make moonshine!

Weekend Trip to Blackwater Tiny Cabin on Snakehead

What a lovely little weekend getaway. Just right for our Valentines Weekend 💝. Loved the extra touches like k cup coffee machine with cups and creamer shower shampoo and body wash, fresh towels and warm blankets. Glad there was a little fridge for dinner leftovers too. We enjoyed meeting the sheep too.

This campsite was so magical. I love winter camping but it’s hard to find campsites that are open during the colder months, so this spot was absolutely perfect. It’s tucked right next to beautiful tall bamboo and a lovely creek. It’s so quiet at night and the stars were incredible. The free firewood was so appreciated - the fire kept me warm all night. Scott was very kind and made me feel so welcomed. I am excited to come back in the warmer months as well. 100% recommend :) Lovely spot.

Great Location with multiple camping locations. The deck with the bamboo at site 3 was great, ample wood was included with the stay and we had everything we needed for an outstanding stay. Scott checked in and we chatted for a bit, really nice and welcoming. We're already planning our next trip with more people in warmer weather to enjoy the creek. 10/10

Wonderful hosts, great space, and really cool vibes. The plunge pool was closed but we made great use of the fire pit & loved the vibe of the whole place. Firewood was amply available for a cheap fee and we especially enjoyed the dogs. Will definitely be back again.

Scott’s campsite was amazing! It had all of the amenities we needed (campfire grate for cooking, unlimited wood, picnic table and benches), and the campsites had enough distance apart from each other. I didn’t get to meet Scott in-person but he was very communicative and accommodating for me and my dogs. I will definitely be coming back!

The camping site was so beautiful. A picnic table was provided and I was able to purchase some fire wood that the owner dropped off at our site. Plenty of room for the 6 people I camped with, two tents and two cars. Plenty of places to walk around and explore and so fun to see the horses walk by! There was some confusion checking in and finding the spot as there are a few spots around the acres. I would love to come back someday!

We loved the island and La Mar was an amazing host. 5 of us spent a weekend on the island. If you have no experience canoeing, be prepared. Being from NYC, we are inexperienced and it took us an hour to row the mile to the island against the tide. if you can get your own power boat to take you there, it will make life a whole lot easier. definitely a challenge, but it was amazing once we made it. The island is relaxing for a weekend. You also get to do some fishing, though we didn't have much luck in October. also - low tide is really low tide. don't plan on going out until the tide comes in a bit. I would recommend taking lots of firewood and a portable toilet. I can't say enough about how communicative and accommodating La Mar is. We're already talking about our next trip.
