The land our farm is on has been in my family for generations.   It was originally part of my Great Grand Fathers dairy farm.   We took over this section of the land to create our own farm several years ago.  We raise beef, pork, chicken, and goats to sell.   We also have several horses on the farm.    The camping spot has been used by our family for years hosting “back forty” parties and weekend getaways.  The pond was dug by my grandfather over 40 years ago for irrigation.    It is no longer used for that and has become a wonderful frog pond that is stocked with trout.    Over the last few years, we upgraded the camping area with a shed, outhouse, fire pit and granite bench, and a bean hole bean pit.  The shed is used for firewood storage and other camp items.     We have direct access to the ATV/Multi use trail system that can take you all over Central Maine.   We have mowed waking trails around the property and acres of woods to explore.

Location The location is perfect for anyone looking for adventure! We are 13 mins to Mt Abram and 27 mins to Sunday River Ski resort! There are many lakes and ponds nearby that are perfect if you are looking to go fishing, kayaking, or looking for a place to cool off in the summer. We are close to many hiking and ATV/snowmobile trails. The town of Bethel is a 15-min drive with lots of great activities including tubingand has some great restaurants, activities as well as a small grocery store.

Lots of activities in the area: hiking, boating, fishing, leaf peeping, antiques, all of the fun stuff.

I had a great time staying at howling goat farm, I personally like the farm atmosphere and all the sounds that go with it! The camping spot was clean and level and has the standard fire ring and I believe an 8 foot long picnic table. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and stay a while in the future.

I had a nice stay here. The privy was clean and it's only 30-40 minute drive from Bangor. The sites are on a slight grade of a hill but it isn't that bad and they each have a fire ring and picnic table with a trash can.

While I didn't personally get to enjoy my overnight stay here due to unforeseen circumstances with my car, Ashley was responsive and also very helpful with my campsite. I was able to get in without any issues, as the instructions were very clear. When my car broke down on the way to a hike after I had set up my campsite, Ashley was willing tear everything down and store it off to the side for me. I am very grateful that there are still good people in the world, and just based on this experience with Ashley, I would highly recommend staying here!

Amazing spot! This was one of our best Hipcamp experiences. Quiet, private spot with amazing sunrise views. Cory was very communicative and gave great directions. The site is located back from the road and working farm so you feel remote. There are tons of amenities in the area, and it was a great place to explore Moosehead and the Belgrade areas. We can’t wait to return.

I only stayed one night, but it was absolutely terrific. The spot is beautiful, peaceful, and really well cared for. You can tell Leketa and Hillary put a lot of thought into the small touches — it made all the difference. A rendezvous with the cosmos was the theme this year. We ran, dashed, sacrificed and stressed to make eyes for Cygnus across celestial clouds ISS flyovers and planets penetrating the atmosphere. Ursas major and minor foraged amongst the fireflies while we all shifted from Pisces to Aquarius over and over again. The fowl are a feature, the ruminations left to the cloven and the swine a smile every time. A fair time was not had in any sense this time. Our budget denied us Common Ground, but our accommodations were AAA. After a day in Stephen King country, I’ll leave the speculation of what beast was snorting in the field the following morning to you.

Candy welcomed us (even though we were not in the area normally reserved for Hip Campers) and graciously allowed us to stay where we were.
