Sunflower Ranch Camping

1 site · Lodging4 acres · Ellsworth, ME
Sunflower Ranch is the name of our home and property. Not only is our cozy, modest house sunflower yellow but in August it is surrounded with sunflowers of all sizes. We share our property with a flock of sweet hens and ducks.....and a few bossy roosters. Eggs are available for purchase if needed. There is a little greenhouse with herbs, greens and strawberries. The field is also an apple orchard that mostly feeds the wildlife. The tent site is privately placed in our cove unseen from the house. We wanted to offer a site that we would enjoy as well and feels like it is in a world of its own. We spend all of our free time outside, camping and paddling the local rivers and lakes. Tommy and I can recommend many beautiful remote Maine adventures for you to experience that are located off the grid and away from all other humans. The sweet city of Ellsworth is only 7 miles away for all of your provisions and Otis General Store is 1 mile away.. they have everything to get you through plus beer, wine, ice and homemade pizza. We can give you a pass to visit the Beech Hill Pond Beach also only 1 mile away (I walk there all the time) which has clear water and a sandy bottom. Great spot to spend the day sunbathing and swimming. I can offer yoga, personal training, boxing and paddleboard lessons or SUP yoga for some onsite physical fitness fun upon request. Learn more about this land: 16 by 12 ft A-Frame on a platform overlooking our private cove on Graham Lake.  Walk through the forest trail to the Beech Hill Pond Stream and find a private little swim spot under a mini waterfall . Great fishing, loon watching, eagles and herons. Enjoy paddling and exploring right from your tent site. Bird watching bliss! Very peaceful and quiet. Canoe or 2 kayaks included.

Back Forty Camping at its best

1 site · RV, Tent75 acres · Corinna, ME
The land our farm is on has been in my family for generations.   It was originally part of my Great Grand Fathers dairy farm.   We took over this section of the land to create our own farm several years ago.  We raise beef, pork, chicken, and goats to sell.   We also have several horses on the farm.    The camping spot has been used by our family for years hosting “back forty” parties and weekend getaways.  The pond was dug by my grandfather over 40 years ago for irrigation.    It is no longer used for that and has become a wonderful frog pond that is stocked with trout.    Over the last few years, we upgraded the camping area with a shed, outhouse, fire pit and granite bench, and a bean hole bean pit.  The shed is used for firewood storage and other camp items.     We have direct access to the ATV/Multi use trail system that can take you all over Central Maine.   We have mowed waking trails around the property and acres of woods to explore.

Although our sites are off-grid without running water, we provide access to composting toilets and potable water. Embrace the quintessential Maine vibes at our campsite, situated along Gott Brook, offering convenient access to the lake via the main campsite road.

Marble Creek Acres is a working homestead in the Northern Maine woods. The homestead is situated on 6 acres of land; part woods, part farm land We operate a small onsite winery, tasting room, onsite Airbnb, host RV campers through Harvest Host, and operate a small farm store. We have a small herd of Kiko goats, and about 3 dozen chickens running around at any given time. We also have a small greenhouse, and 24 raised garden beds, with a number of perennials growing, including, horseradish, rhubarb, asparagus, blueberries, and grapes. We have approximately 90 dwarf apple trees and of course grow various veggies in the summer months. Let's not forget the active working honey bees on site as well. We have Italians and Saskatraz honey bees hard at work pollinating locally, and producing honey for the homestead. If you are looking for a safe, quiet spot to rejuvenate, take in a sunrise, sunset, or gaze at the stars, yet still have a few amenities while camping, then Marble Creek Acres is the perfect spot to spend a night, a few days or even a week. We welcome questions about our homesteading practices, and invite you to check out all we have to offer as part of your stay. Tours available as well for a nominal fee. We have a small self-serve Farm Store on the premises with a variety of locally sold items, ranging from fresh eggs, to goat breakfast sausage, jams and marmalades, honey, maple syrup, and in season fresh veggies. There is also a Handy Mart, 2 miles away, that stocks fresh cut meat; chicken, beef, and pork, additional veggies, and various other dry goods, like crackers, and cookies. It also features a small take out menu and full service gas station, including propane bottle exchange (no fill). Marble Creek Acres is handy to the Mt. Jefferson Backcountry Riders ATV Club Trails. This trail system allows you to explore locally, or travel North to Houlton and beyond, East to Topsfield and Calais, and South to Machias and even Ellsworth. The exploring is endless. Map below for reference. https://s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/eregulations-assets/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/atv_trail_maps.pdf There are also a number of lakes, streams, and rivers in the region if you are looking to do any water sports, or fishing. Don't let the amenities fool you! Easy access, yet quiet, and safe. If you blink, while driving through the center of town, you might miss it. Perfect for a nice relaxing getaway.
