We have an 8X8 cabin available in a small grove on the edge of our homestead/medicinal herb farm. The cabin has a full size bed (bring your own pillows and bedding) with some floor space for a small cot or sleeping pad. The space allows for two adults and two small children, anymore than that would be very tight. The cabin is insulated so the road traffic isn’t bad but it is noticeable at certain hours when the window is open. There is a large parking area with about a 100 yard walk across a lawn and then another 100 yard walk through an uneven wooded trail to the cabin. We have two composting toilet outhouses available for guests use that we take care of on a daily basis.Inside of our large greenhouse, there is a hot water outdoor semi-private shower, only biodegradable soap that we provide can be used. There is also a kitchen and seating area in the greenhouse with a propane grill, toaster oven, microwave and electric kettle and small coffee maker/French press. The greenhouse is a communal space that our family uses as a wood shop and greenhouse space so while the kitchen and shower area are kept clean and clear for guests, the rest of the greenhouse is a working space that can be in various states depending on what projects we have going on. Dogs are allowed but they need to be leashed due to our free ranging ducks and the closeness of the road. We can occasionally provide eggs and some veggies and herbs for tea for a small fee if it’s arranged in advance.We provide a fire pit and kindling but ask that you bring your own fire wood that has been purchased in the area so as not to bring in any new pests.The parking area is large enough if you want to bring a boat or trailer.Our spot is 3 miles from downtown Freeport and is located near a commuter road so it’s easy access to many spots.Freeport is a coastal town with two state parks, lots of great diverse trails which are well maintained and lots of restaurants/breweries. We are a short drive from Portland, Brunswick and Bath which both have lots of parks and restaurants. We are a short drive from family destinations like the desert of Maine in Freeport, Maine wildlife park in grey and the old orchard boardwalk.  We are about 40 min from popham beach to the north and 40 min to crescent beach, old orchard beach and Scarborough beach to the south.As hosts, we are around if you need us but happy to give as much space and privacy as you would like. It started years ago my sister and I stayed in a yurt at a campground in Oregon. That was it. I was hooked so I got one. There is something magical about staying in a round structure in the trees. My love of nature and comfort drove me to create this special place to be able to share it with others. My TreeYurt is a platform built high in the trees so it essentially like a treehouse but with a yurt instead. It is located in the back part of my property surrounded by woods. In the spring there is a small stream running nearby. The land is somewhat sloped yet comfortable. There are apple orchards nearby and many hiking trails a short distance away as well as Portland a mere 15 minutes. The kitchenette has a small fridge a toaster oven a coffee maker a cook top with two burners pots pans utensils plates and bowls and kitchen towels as well a propane grill outside. There is a wood stove for heating in the winter as well as a monitor heater that makes it very cozy for chilly nights. The yurt is insulated so it is a great year round glamping (glorified camping) adventure. I provide fire some wood for the wood stove inside but the camp fire wood for the outdoor fire pit is $5 per bundle. The outhouse has a dry flush toilet and instructions at located in the yurt and out house. There is seasonal running water (May through October) for the outdoor sink which is available for use for dishwashing and a bit of cleaning up. Also an outdoor shower is available for use May through October and biodegradable soaps and shampoo are provided. I provide gallons of drinking water and dishwashing water for the colder months inside the yurt with dish tubs sponges and soap.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS NEAR CAMP Within 5 minutes of camp, you will find all the essentials, including food items, ice, firewood, goodies, gas, and RV supplies. In fact, you can even order your groceries online for pickup, (free at Hannaford Brothers Grocery and Walmart) either on your way to your campsite or when you need to resupply your camp (we would be happy to give you the details). During your stay, you may also want to take a trip off-site to explore all that the Lakes Region offers. Explore the historic oceanfront City of Portland, or the local Towns of Windham, Naples, or Bridgton. Portland is a 35 minute drive from The Queen's Property. The coastline around Portland is rugged and attractive with world-famous lighthouses dotted along its shorelines. Numerous locally owned shops and nationally recognized restaurants can be found tucked into its many harbors and shorelines. Closer to camp, enjoy strolling through the Town of Naples. Naples sits smack-dab in the middle of the Sebago Lakes Region. Sebago Lake abuts its western border and Long Lake abuts its eastern border. A short 8-minute drive from your site, Naples spoils its visitors with boat rentals, waterfront shops, and awesome restaurants. Further north is the Town of Bridgton. Bridgton is a 20-minute drive from your campsite. It offers its visitors a quaint downtown filled with local retailers, pubs, and restaurants. NEARBY STATE PARKS AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES If your idea of exploring is centered around outdoor activities, then Sebago Lake State Park is a 1,342-acre park that abuts the shores of Sebago Lake. Within the park, you will enjoy protected forests, bike paths, and Sebago Lake beaches. Sebago Lake is a deep glacial lake, and by itself is 44 square miles of clear waters that abut Sebago Lake State Park. The park and the lake host some of Maine's’ best sandy beaches, water sports, fishing, boating, boat rentals, camping, picnic areas, boat launches, extensive woodlands, a wide array of critters, hiking trails, and walking trails. It started years ago my sister and I stayed in a yurt at a campground in Oregon. That was it. I was hooked so I got one. There is something magical about staying in a round structure in the trees. My love of nature and comfort drove me to create this special place to be able to share it with others. My TreeYurt is a platform built high in the trees so it essentially like a treehouse but with a yurt instead. It is located in the back part of my property surrounded by woods. In the spring there is a small stream running nearby. The land is somewhat sloped yet comfortable. There are apple orchards nearby and many hiking trails a short distance away as well as Portland a mere 15 minutes. The kitchenette has a small fridge a toaster oven a coffee maker a cook top with two burners pots pans utensils plates and bowls and kitchen towels as well a propane grill outside. There is a wood stove for heating in the winter as well as a monitor heater that makes it very cozy for chilly nights. The yurt is insulated so it is a great year round glamping (glorified camping) adventure. I provide fire some wood for the wood stove inside but the camp fire wood for the outdoor fire pit is $5 per bundle. The outhouse has a dry flush toilet and instructions at located in the yurt and out house. There is seasonal running water (May through October) for the outdoor sink which is available for use for dishwashing and a bit of cleaning up. Also an outdoor shower is available for use May through October and biodegradable soaps and shampoo are provided. I provide gallons of drinking water and dishwashing water for the colder months inside the yurt with dish tubs sponges and soap.

During your stay, you may also want to take a trip off-site to explore all that the Lakes Region offers. Explore the historic oceanfront City of Portland, or the local Towns of Windham, Naples, or Bridgton. Portland is a 35 minute drive from The Queen's Property. The coastline around Portland is rugged and attractive with world-famous lighthouses dotted along its shorelines. Numerous locally owned shops and nationally recognized restaurants can be found tucked into its many harbors and shorelines. Closer to camp, enjoy strolling through the Town of Naples. Naples sits smack-dab in the middle of the Sebago Lakes Region. Sebago Lake abuts its western border and Long Lake abuts its eastern border. The deck is the perfect place to enjoy the Mountain View, watch the sunsets and stargaze with a glass of wine by the gas fireplace! Birdsong Yurt is not your average yurt! The yurt is a 30-foot Great Lakes yurt with lots of upgrades. Every detail has been thought through to make this yurt experience as cozy and relaxing as possible. The yurt can sleep two to four people, with a king bed in the main living area and a queen size bed in the back bedroom. Each bed has comfortable fresh clean bedding. The yurt features full kitchen to include a small refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, small 20" cook stove/oven, double cast iron sink, drip coffee pot, tea kettle, microwave, toaster/air fry oven, dishware/glassware for 2-4 people, silverware and cooking utensils, dish towels, dish soap, olive oil, vinegar, cooking spices, cookie sheets, muffin and loaf pans. The bathroom has a 48" stand up shower with rain shower head and is stocked with towels, hand soap, bar soap, hair dryer, starter toilet paper and paper towels for your stay. The living space has a sofa and two chairs perfect to sit and read a book by the fire, play some games or settle down and watch a movie on the 43" smart Roku tv. The yurt is heated with a comfortbuilt pellet stove which is easy to use and can be left unattended for a day out to come back to a nice warm space. We also have a Mini split heat pump which is an additional heat source but also provides air conditioning to keep you cool and comfortable in the warmer months. Outside space Enjoy the view while sitting on the deck with the gas fire place or sit by the wood burning fire pit. (We do not supply wood) but there may occasionally be some left on site. Location The location is perfect for anyone looking for adventure! We are 13 mins to Mt Abram and 27 mins to Sunday River Ski resort! There are many lakes and ponds nearby that are perfect if you are looking to go fishing, kayaking, or looking for a place to cool off in the summer. We are close to many hiking and ATV/snowmobile trails. The town of Bethel is a 15-min drive with lots of great activities including tubingand has some great restaurants, activities as well as a small grocery store.

The cabin was built for me to steal away from the house and enjoy the wildlife, quiet, stars and silence. No neighbors to infringe on your ideal get away. The large cabin has a welcoming front porch to enjoy the amazing sunrises over Streaked Mtn. 100 acres of privacy to hike, watch wildlife and just relax. Cabin has outside facilities. Off the grid-no electric or running water. Cell service is adequate. 1 gallon of fresh well water provided for drinking and 10 gallons for washing/cooking. Bring your own linens for a queen size bed, twin bunk beds and a full pull out couch. 2 pillows are supplied with a pillow protective cover and pillow case which are washed after each guest. Absolutely wonderful people and great space! Chris and Lisa were kind enough to let me sleep inside as it was snowy and cold at nighttime when I arrived with my dog, as only one other guest was staying. Lisa also offered the other guest and I breakfast; she makes great gluten-free vegan pancakes & the Appalachian Trail hiker had eggs, too. They have a beautiful philosophy of giving back, very cute donkeys, and I just feel so fortunate to have met them… all! Thank you so much! Hope to see you again, soon!

We stayed in the yurt for a weekend and loved it! Bed was comfy and thought the woodstove wasn't working, the space heater kept us cozy. Morgan and Rush were excellent hosts, answered all our questions graciously and made us very welcome. The woodfired hot tub was glorious. Hope we can visit again someday!

Thank you for a lovely stay! Ken and Marley made us feel so welcomed the moment we arrived on the property that it felt like we were greeting and old friend. They even delivered our ice and firewood right to our site. Our pup Mabel had the time of her life tunning and playing in the field, although a bit too much at times, tossing all obedience out the window and inviting herself into the barn, where she was greeted with laughter and a few pats from fellow campers. All was forgiven immediately and it was was a beautiful night to sit by the fire under the most amazing view of the stars! Such a peaceful place to be that Mabel, stubborn as ever, laid down limp in protest when it was time to leave!

I really loved my stay here! It’s a great spot to relax and unwind. The coin operated showers were actually really nice. The cabin had a cozy, rustic vibe that made the stay memorable. Just a couple things for future guests. The cabin I stayed in had a screened entry instead of a solid door, so it got a little chilly at night. Also with it being so close to other cabins, we had to hang a blanket on the door. Being close to the road means you’ll hear some traffic, and the dogs from the nearby house barked a bit here and there. The game hall and kitchen area are a little dated, but they were clean and worked just fine.

Land around the property is protected so there are many birds, ponds and streams. Hiking trails are right outside your door. Natural water sources do not have spigots. If you choose to use the natural water source for drinking, all water should be treated! This is a wilderness area. The TREE TENT is 13x 13 x 13 and sleeps 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children. The tent is 4 feet off the ground. You will need to lift yourself into it. Please remove shoes before entering the tent. THERE ARE NO AMENITIES This is a dry campsite. There are no showers or toilets. There is an outhouse and a 5 gal PROPANE shower. (You will need a small canister of propane). 5 gallons of water is provided. There is a very large pot for boiling water if needed. There is a fire ring with a grill, a picnic table, 2 reclining camp chairs, a Gazebo, and a Tree Tent. A trolly is provided to carry your belongings as it is a short hike uphill to the site. No cooking or sleeping supplies are available. You must bring your own bedding, cooler, cooking utensils, wood and small propane canister. Carter's Cross Country Ski Center and Shop has been a family-owned business since 1984. The land on which the trails have been built on has been in the Carter family since the late 1700's. The first Carter who came to Bethel was the first doctor in the area that helped Mollyocket, a Native American medicine woman. All the different generations that came along after were either farmers or loggers or both. Carter's XC Ski Center is located on the banks of the Big Androscoggin River. Our private established skiing/walking trails meander through the Maine woods all the way up to Farwell Mountain, overlooking Sunday River Ski, the Presidential and Mahoosuc Mountain Ranges and Mt. Washington. Nearby is Middle Intervale Farm, owned by John Carter, who produces his own vegetables and meat. He has a small, self-serve farm stand right on Intervale Road, next to Carter's.
