Spacious Skies Balsam Woods is a hidden paradise of a campground located right in the heart of Maine, just a half hour south of Moosehead Lake, the largest lake in Maine, and 60 miles as the crow flies from the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail, Mt. Katahdin, in Baxter State Park.
We offer both wooded and open sites that can accommodate most rigs. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, water, 30 or 50-amp electrical service, and most offer sewer. Groups and tent campers are welcome.
Balsam Woods campground is less than a minute’s drive from Piper Pond, a 2-mile-long lake with public boat launch and beach access. Onsite, we have a camp store and snack bar stocked with necessities, treats, and goodies for the whole family. There is no shortage of fun activities with our heated pool, classic rec hall, playground, a new jumping pillow, and gem mining! We have three cozy rustic cabins as well as three deluxe cabins for those wanting to experience the beauty of the great outdoors but who may not be ready for the tenter or RV life!

Welcome to my studio property. There is a long spacious spot for most sizes RV. It has level grass for you to park on. There is a group fire pit area on the grounds for everyone.
Many people do not need electricity these days. So I have lowered the price of the spot. It is without electricity. You can add it on if you wish at $20 per night. You will need a long extension, and it is 20 amps. please request electric prior to visit.
I have water for your holding tank. it is clean from my well and brought to you via garden hose.

This is an excellent spot for a short stay. It is good if you need to be here a couple of days prior to your campground stay!

Inside the pyramid you will find these mysterious nomads spared no expense recreating the authentic aesthetic of Giza . Such a wonderful campground! We loved the cabin and it had everything we needed. Bathrooms were clean and the store and rec room were there with food supplies, games. Activities and such. The kids loved the jumping pillow and playground. We will definitely be back.

I really enjoyed my stay in the Tut Hut and would've stayed longer if I could! It's a cute, cozy space, and quirky in a really fun way. It's easy to access while feeling remote, well-appointed with enough homey comforts that it barely feels like roughing it, and the host was responsive, friendly, and helpful. The quick walk through the woods to the gorgeous riverside is what makes it a really special location, and I immediately fell in love with the spot - having my coffee by the water while watching the eagles fly was about as peaceful and restorative a morning as I can imagine. I would happily go again.

The hut is right on the Penobscot River which is great for swimming and snorkeling. The hut is really cool and has plenty of space to feel comfortable. We enjoyed our time there!

Really cute little cabins, comfy and quiet and clean. We showed up late and left early and Scott made it all very easy for us. Lincoln is an awesome location to explore the endless forest and rivers and mountains nearby. Would recommend to other travelers! Thanks Scott!

It was a cute rustic cabin. We had everything needed for camping with our dogs. Unfortunately, the heater wasn’t working and we got super cold at night as we didn’t expect the drastic temperature drop. Overall - nice place with super clean bath house and very pleasant staff! Our fur babies loved it
