Learn about the Gateway to Acadia: We now have water! A 300’ well and a hand pump make for some ice cold water onsite, It’s a little rusty in color but great for washing dishes and bathing. Space and privacy! 3 acres to yourself, sweeping views and sunsets including a glimpse of Cadillac Mountain from across the Bay. 12x12 cozy shelter! No electricity in the Timber Tent, but there are power outlets on the electric pole at the beginning of the driveway. Feel free to bring your tent, camper or stay in the cabin.  Room for 4 and a few more on the floor of the Timber Tent.   There is a small futon inside. This site is 10 miles from Acadia National Park (Schoodic side) where there are mountain bike and hiking trails. Want to swim and kayak in freshwater? Jones Pond is just a few miles away and has a public beach.  Take a ferry to Bar Harbor and then retreat to the quiet side of the Bay.  Hike Schoodic Mountain and take a swim at the end on Donnell Pond.  Restaurants and shops are ready for you in Winter Harbor.  Enjoy the sunrise trail for 4 wheelers only a few miles from the campsite. Recently purchased by my wife and me, it is currently undergoing a rebranding and remodel. At present, there are 4 small cottages available to rent, along with plenty of parking space for smaller RVs and vans. Cyclists passing through are welcome to reach out—we’re happy to accommodate tent camping as well. Services such as showers are limited at this time. Cottages include air conditioning, heat, and Keurig coffee makers. RV and van campers will have access to water for filling tanks, and we can accommodate 15A connections at this time. The property itself is gorgeous, offering incredible night-sky views. From the parking area, you can see Penobscot Bay in the distance. A small creek also runs through the land, attracting birds and other wildlife. The Anchorage is located just 0.5 miles from Lincolnville Beach, a popular spot for swimming, relaxing, and launching kayaks. Enjoy ease of huge, level gravel pad. Includes a 2 sided privacy structure to hang an outside shower bag (bring water & bag). Branch lake is right across the main road (but more like driving distance than walking). 15 mins to Ellsworth, 30 to Bar Harbor. No bathrooms, bring water, take your trash. This is a huge level gravel pad up a long dirt driveway. Travel down a dirt road about 1 mile to find your oasis in nature. 4 wheel drive is not required but necessary if you bring an RV (please use 4 wheel drive when going up the driveway if you’re towing to avoid creating ruts in the drive way. A car will make it down the dirt road and up the semi-steep drive way. PLEASE DRIVE SLOW to respect the road and preserve the undercarriage of your car. Please bring everything you need for a great stay and take everything with you when you depart. The pad will accommodate multiple tents, a small to medium sized RV and 4-5 cars. There are no onsite amenities. Please bring your water and plan to take your trash with you. The area is lush and green and the stars are bright at night. Any fallen trees are yours to use for firewood. You can also take any small branches from the brush piles. We just ask that you do not cut down any other trees on the property. You have 13 acres all to yourself. There are a few short trails that lead to the rear of the property but they are very short and not maintained paths. Guests interactions: You are on your own! We will observe the property after your checkout. Please take everything with you and do not burn trash in the fire ring. There are nearby ATV trails. If you bring ATVs, kindly ask that you drive them carefully on our gravel pad, driveway, and dirt road (drive slow, no donuts please :)) Dogs are welcome! Bring your friends. Take your trash. Please respect our nature and pack it out if you pack it in. That includes anything you may or may not do in the woods. Do not leave tissue paper or piles of #2 on the paths. Use a bag, pack it out.
