We now have water! A 300’ well and a hand pump make for some ice cold water onsite, It’s a little rusty in color but great for washing dishes and bathing. Space and privacy! 3 acres to yourself, sweeping views and sunsets including a glimpse of Cadillac Mountain from across the Bay. 12x12 cozy shelter! No electricity in the Timber Tent, but there are power outlets on the electric pole at the beginning of the driveway. Feel free to bring your tent, camper or stay in the cabin. Room for 4 and a few more on the floor of the Timber Tent. There is a small futon inside. This site is 10 miles from Acadia National Park (Schoodic side) where there are mountain bike and hiking trails. Want to swim and kayak in freshwater? Jones Pond is just a few miles away and has a public beach. Take a ferry to Bar Harbor and then retreat to the quiet side of the Bay. Hike Schoodic Mountain and take a swim at the end on Donnell Pond. Restaurants and shops are ready for you in Winter Harbor. Enjoy the sunrise trail for 4 wheelers only a few miles from the campsite. With 3 acres of clearing and 60 acres on the property to explore, you can Enjoy all that DownEast has to offer.

We offer two (2) parking sites suitable for an RV or tow trailer no longer than 40' and no taller than 15'. There is a 50 AMP hookup, plus recently tested well water and newly re-piped septic. This site is down a 350+' private No Outlet drive with limited lighting, surrounded by a thicket of trees on all sides for total privacy and the serene quiet of forest life in Downeast Maine.
While we are not yet set up for tent camping, stay tuned for when we open additional sites!

On the property itself, we have 20+ acres to explore including a trail that begins* your trek up to the peak of Young Tunk Mountain. The Anchorage is a 4-acre cabins and motel property located approximately 0.5 miles south of Lincolnville, ME. This historic property has been operating for over 100 years.
Recently purchased by my wife and me, it is currently undergoing a rebranding and remodel. At present, there are 4 small cottages available to rent, along with plenty of parking space for smaller RVs and vans.
Cyclists passing through are welcome to reach out—we’re happy to accommodate tent camping as well. Services such as showers are limited at this time.
Cottages include air conditioning, heat, and Keurig coffee makers.
RV and van campers will have access to water for filling tanks, and we can accommodate 15A connections at this time.
The property itself is gorgeous, offering incredible night-sky views. From the parking area, you can see Penobscot Bay in the distance. A small creek also runs through the land, attracting birds and other wildlife.
The Anchorage is located just 0.5 miles from Lincolnville Beach, a popular spot for swimming, relaxing, and launching kayaks. Nearby attractions include:

Branch lake is right across the main road (but more like driving distance than walking). 15 mins to Ellsworth, 30 to Bar Harbor.
No bathrooms, bring water, take your trash.
This is a huge level gravel pad up a long dirt driveway. Travel down a dirt road about 1 mile to find your oasis in nature.
4 wheel drive is not required but necessary if you bring an RV (please use 4 wheel drive when going up the driveway if you’re towing to avoid creating ruts in the drive way. A car will make it down the dirt road and up the semi-steep drive way. PLEASE DRIVE SLOW to respect the road and preserve the undercarriage of your car.
Please bring everything you need for a great stay and take everything with you when you depart. The pad will accommodate multiple tents, a small to medium sized RV and 4-5 cars.
There are no onsite amenities. Please bring your water and plan to take your trash with you. The area is lush and green and the stars are bright at night.
Any fallen trees are yours to use for firewood. You can also take any small branches from the brush piles. We just ask that you do not cut down any other trees on the property.
You have 13 acres all to yourself. There are a few short trails that lead to the rear of the property but they are very short and not maintained paths.
Guests interactions:
You are on your own! We will observe the property after your checkout. Please take everything with you and do not burn trash in the fire ring.
There are nearby ATV trails. If you bring ATVs, kindly ask that you drive them carefully on our gravel pad, driveway, and dirt road (drive slow, no donuts please :))
Dogs are welcome! Bring your friends. Take your trash. Please respect our nature and pack it out if you pack it in. That includes anything you may or may not do in the woods. Do not leave tissue paper or piles of #2 on the paths. Use a bag, pack it out.
We do not provide anything besides the space to pop a tent. Bring a hand saw to cut wood!

We had the best time at this site. The views were absolutely incredible. We had better sunset views from the campsite than we even would in Acadia. Having the water, electric plug, and bathroom on site was so helpful, too. We ended up tent camping, but the little house was such an added perk, too for storage, spending time together, etc. I can’t recommend this spot enough!!

We stayed here for a month while sightseeing Maine. Michael was a terrific host!! The site was clean, spacious and everything we hoped! Michael is very knowledgeable about the area and even knew where we could get the BEST homemade blueberry pies! Michael is very friendly and accommodating to his campers and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was everything we hoped (and turned out to be more than we hoped). Highly recommend this host and the beautiful area of Cherryfield, Maine.

All I can say is wow!! I booked the camp for 4 days but was really only thinking I would stay for 2-3 and thought...what the heck, if I like it I could stay the 4 days. By day 2, I never wanted to leave. The place was incredible. The stars at night were so amazing that I didn't watch any TV or get on my phone the entire time. I can't wait to go again next year!!
The camp was perfect!!! Just enough roughing it to feel like I was camping but also just enough glamp to not make me feel like I was full on camping. Absolutely perfect!!

13 Acres/Off Grid/Branch Lake is the perfect spot for anyone seeking true solitude. We loved how incredibly private the campsite was, feeling completely removed from all other people. The site offers a great balance of shade and sun throughout the day, which was perfect for staying cool while also getting some use out of our solar gear.
As the description says, there are no hookups, and that's exactly what we wanted—a quiet, peaceful place in the forest. The location is also fantastic, with easy access to Branch Lake and lots of hiking trails. It's also conveniently close to Ellsworth.
The pin was past the entrance, but the host's directions and description of the entrance were clear and easy to follow. We also found that AT&T cell service worked on-site, though it wasn't super strong.
If you're looking to truly get away from it all and enjoy a secluded, off-grid experience, we highly recommend this spot.

We spent a lovely, peaceful three day weekend in campsite #1. Michael, the host is a really nice guy who was very accommodating and responsive to any needs we might have. The site itself is all gravel, fairly level with full hook ups. There was no one in site #2 which was good because it is right next to #1. Getting a trailer backed in might need some assistance which Michael appeared ready to supply (we had no problem because our trailer is equipped with a caravan mover) . A pretty spot that is surrounded by woods, lots of birds and a big tree that provided some shade and kept our trailer cooler during the height of the day.
A huge plus is the location ! Its just north of Cherryfield in an area with lots of opportunities for great hikes (schoodic and tunk mountains) and lake and river paddling (Narraguagus river, 3 lakes w/ boat ramps) . And not a far drive to beautiful costal hikes like Roques Bluff, Ingersoll Preserve, Petit Manan, Wass Island just to name a few (who needs the crowds in Acadia!) The nearby town of Cherryfield is a lovely village with a great cafe for coffee and breakfast and lunch.

This campsite proved to be an excellent choice for a convenient stay. Our party of four adults, with two campers, rented both sites giving us the whole campground to ourselves. Michael, who lives on the property, was very kind and hospitable. We met him upon arrival, he offered great ideas for things to do in the area, and after that we had complete privacy and did not see anyone while at camp. During our stay, Michael responded quickly to our questions and was super helpful.
The full hookups—water, electric, sewer, and trash—were incredibly advantageous for our travels and worked flawlessly. The water pressure was great, the electricity easily powered all our appliances, and we were especially pleased to find the well water was good tasting. The gravel surface of the sites drained well and provided a level surface for the campers. For the Northeast in July, the bugs were minimal.
Though surrounded by trees at the edges, the site offered ample open space. It was quiet and peaceful, with hermit thrushes singing sweetly. AT&T cell service worked reliably. We will be back next time we are in the area.

What a great spot. Level, private, excellent host. Far enough north that there aren't lines full of tourists. Some good spots to eat, nice beaches to walk. Plenty of hiking trails, more than enough opportunities to run our three dogs.
