The last week of May is hay cutting time, which is a great time to visit our farm! Roaring Shoals Farm is a Black Angus cattle and hay farm. It is a family farm set in the beautiful hills of eastern Kentucky. We have 600 acres of mountains that have amazing views, hiking trails, wildlife and tranquil creeks. Our family would love to welcome you to our farm! Learn more about this land: Roaring Shoals is a family farm.  This campsite  is a double capacity with full hookup, located in a rural community halfway between Jackson and Salyersville on Highway 30 East. The site is close to the road; however there is much woodland to explore located on the property. We have small waterfall and a natural rock formation that can be hiked to.  There is a shoal a very short walk from the campsite that is a wonderful place to enjoy the creek! There is great cellular service if your device uses Verizon towers, as there is a tower on the property.  This is the perfect place to come and relax if you are visiting the area.  It is approximately 12 miles from a small town with local restaurants and convenience stores.   Our farm raised , dry aged black angus beef can be purchased if available; please check availability by calling a few days prior to your stay.  You may also purchase firewood that was harvested from our property which is a certified tree farm.  Our cattle are raised on another of our properties located a few miles up the road.  We would be happy to schedule a time to take you there to see where they are born and raised.

This area is an old tobacco and cattle farm on a point above Laurel Lake. We do a bit of farming and crafting when we can and thought we’d try and share our lovely spot! Much of the timber on the place is nearly 100 years old hardwoods, with a couple of fields throughout. I camp here myself too, and can recommend it for privacy! Savvy's Retreat was a fantastic campsite! It's well thought-out by campers for campers. The half bath was super handy when cooking outside and would be great if you had people visiting. There were plenty of outlets and lights in the shelter. Both the shelter and trees provided plenty of summer shade. The dog run was great to have, and they even had 3 tie-outs available! We travel with 3 larger dogs that like to bark at people, so crowded campgrounds are stressful for all of us. This setup allowed us all to relax outside together. Christian and Christy were on top of communication. This was truly a pleasant and well-thought-out space

We loved the set up! Had water, electric, sewer and bathroom. Plus many extras, large fire pit and swing, card and board games plus in a very quiet rural area. It was close to Berea, Kentucky to hike The Pinnacles, Indian Fort Trail to Eagles Nest and Buzzard Landing with breath taking views when you get to the top. Grab a pizza at Apollo Pizza in Berea. Very tasty. Flat Lick Falls near McKee was constantly flowing. Pretty water hole that’s clear with some swimmers. Easy site to pull out and leave. The owners are attentive with any questions and maintain their cool with care. We will definitely be back

Weekend Trip to Serenity Camp

Overall, we had a great stay at Cedar Springs at Serenity Camp. The surrounding farmland was beautiful and made for a really scenic setting. I was a bit surprised by how close the site was to the highway, so it wasn’t quite as peaceful and private as I personally prefer. We had a few minor setup issues, but the owner was helpful, came out to assist us, and got everything worked out. Despite that, I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful property! My husband and I brought our two dogs for a peaceful weekend in our travel trailer. The location had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed several hiking trails in the area, grilled delicious meals under the large shelter, and relaxed by the fire with a perfect view of the stars. This location exceeded our expectations and the onsite bathroom was a bonus! We highly recommend this spot and will be back next fall!
