Riverside is an 8 acre property on the Ohio River in Burlington, KY. Originally built as Lock and Dam 38 in 1926 it is now a multi family apartment property with a large field and plenty of room to camp. Currently there are two sites and a outside community area. Each have a picnic table and fire ring. You can pull your car right up to your site.
Bring your canoe or kayak as we have access to put your boat in right on the property. Or fish from the river bank.
There is access to the indoor common area where you will find a bathroom with shower and a place to relax or get in from the weather. There are two coin operated laundry rooms and a soda machine onsite as well.
This historic location is just 8 minutes to Rabbit Hash, 18 minutes to Big Bone Lick State Park, and 22 minutes to the Creation Museum.
Either myself or one of my staff are onsite everyday if you have any questions or concerns.

This is our second time here and my goodness, it’s perfect. My daughter loves hiking on the property and petting the horses. It has everything you NEED and the warm shelter after a rainy hike at McCormicks Creek State Park is always what we need. Can’t wait to come back again. Our little dude with Cerebral Palsy could absolutely love this property too.

I loved tent camping here. Prolly my fave for many reasons. I got there during midweek, so I had the place to myself! I'm a female solor tent camper, so feeling 100 percent safe is utter luxury.
The private campground is located down a beautiful dead end road. You are first greeted by Eyore the donkey. Very friendly and my dog and gimme have kisses. Camp also has chickens and goats.
At the start of the campground is the petting zoo., an unfinished cabin that will have all the good stuff. Another cabin (heat, air, electricity, bed), a BAR ! With a gazebo, smart tv, outdoor projector and seating, and a beautiful fire pit patio! Seriously.
The layout of the campground is on walk ways more around leveled camp sites, which are huge and have a fire pit and lights. Going down the steep trails is more dispersed camping and a creek down below you can pan for gold!
The Star of the show though, is the owner. His idea of the final outcome of his campground is genuine. He wants a place to camp that reminds them of growing up and that doesn't cost a lot.
He is smart, funny, herby, and a great conversationalist. Oh, and boy can cook! I bought ingredients to make a seafood boil. He made the most amazing meal ever over the fire.
Neg:Outdoor facilities were in progress (but had a toilet) he allowed me shower in the main house. I wouldn't recommend it for people that struggle with mobility. Tripping hazards.

It was so nice to stay on a farm near some hiking trails. We felt very comfortable in the tiny cabin with air conditioning and all the fixings for camping that we needed. It was a beautiful drive to the cabin as well!

The campground is clean and the owners are super friendly and helpful. There is a lot for kids to do and my grandkids really enjoyed being there. We were there over a weekend so it was full and hopping. Our neighbors played cornhole until 1:30 am so that was unfortunate. The laundry facilities were not great. Several of the machines didn’t work and the dryer that did work took more than one cycle (we later discovered that you had to put it on delicates to get heat 😂). The friendliness of the staff made up for any disappointments and I would definitely stay there again. Also call and check to make sure they have your reservation if you use Hipcamp. Their systems don’t cooperate too well. We weren’t in the system at all so they had to put us in. They honored what Hipcamp promised. We originally thought we would be a late arrival and if that had been the case, we wouldn’t have had our paperwork in the late arrival box. I don’t know what we would have done then

This was a same day booking from a changed route plan in our trip. Although we got there after dark, the directions to get to the cabin were clear and lights were left on to help. The place is as described and very charming. We arrived at 11pm and were able to start a fire, relax, and let the dogs out and wind down. The loft was great for our 14 year old and the queen bed was comfy.

Pretty cool and surprisingly quiet spot for being so close to houses. The view under the old water tower and out to the river is nice. Was super easy to do a late booking and check in. The owner was very nice and responsive to my messages.
Shower was hot and clean. No frills/soap. Toilet bowl was pretty gross, but everything else wasn’t bad. As far as camp site at this price with a shower, top tier!
