THE BAPTISMAL POND: As history goes the pond in front of this site was used in the 1800's for baptisms for the church visible from everywhere on the farm, thus our name. This is a tent site, easy to drive into and out of, fires permitted in season. THISTLEDOWN GATHERING PLACE: This is a very large meadow, surrounded by trees with the capacity for large groups, many tents and gatherings of lots of people. Very level, easy in and out with vehicles. Fires permitted in season. WHITETAIL SANCTUARY: Every night for decades a herd of whitetail deer graze in this pastoral setting. Drive in and out, fires in season. Suitable for a family sized tent. THE PENNINSULA: This camping spot is WALK IN ONLY. You can drive to the trailhead on grass and walk the path to the campsite (about 200 yards). One of two remote sites. I had a great experience. I stayed at Holmes Hideaway site and it was beautiful - on the river with seclusion, fire pits, and plenty of tree cover. I went in mid-november and it was not crowded. Everything done through the app and I was left alone. It was a fun weekend.

Clean quiet and family friendly. Open areas and the river await adventure by all ages. Roving herd of sheep goats, donkey and mini horse add to the whimsy. Steve and his son Bradley are excellent hosts and I will return.

This was such a peaceful spot — I had the whole place to myself! Communication with the host was quick and easy, and they were very helpful. I’d definitely recommend arriving during the day, as the driveway can be a little tricky to spot at night and it’s fairly steep. Once settled in, we had a wonderful time by the river and enjoyed the gorgeous fall colors. Highly recommend!

Georgous place! Perfect place to relax and unwind. We stayed here in October and enjoyed the fall colors on the Ohio River which were beautiful. The sites are perfect for boat and barge watching. Randy is super. He was attentive to all our needs. This is my new favorite campground. We will be back.

Cool spot a short way down a windy road, and at the bottom you reach the campground. We were able to let our dogs run free with us while the goats were away at work, very fun. Peaceful and quiet, super clean toilet, and great place for kids.

We had a relaxing and enjoyable night in Oakie Dokie. The tents site are very large and private. The "petting zoo" was an interesting neighbor, along with the free range pony aka Little Sebastian".

Weekend Trip to A Notch Above-RV Riverside Campsite

We had an amazing time at A Notch Above. It was us and our friends at the site next to us. It was perfect for buddy camping. We had sites 2 and 3. Our campers faced the river and ir was a beautiful view. We were fortunate enough to see multiple bald eagles and many other birds. Watching the different barges and boats mo e up and down the river was another nice thing about camping at Randy's place. Randy is a very nice, helpful host. I would definitely recommend A Notch Above if you are looking for scenic views and relaxation.

What a great location and beautiful site. The entrance looks tricky but worked out perfectly. We enjoyed the river, bardges, bald eagles and looking at the stars. Some things to note the road behind you is close and there is some road noise but it didn't bother us. There is a porta potty on site in the middle but it was clean and did not smell. Randy was available when needed and even checked in to make sure we arrived ok. Will return

The site was very level and spacious. The firepit was located right by the river. We sat there every night with a fire and watched the barges go by. My only negative was the septic hookup. I have never delt with one that was sideways out of the ground. It backed up and leaked gray tank water all over so I was not able to completely empty my tank.

1 night at Away at Green Hill

High and dry. Mostly level site and surrounded by trees. Fire pit and picnic table. Very private. A very short walk to the toilet. A nice Welcome Kit provided. Firewood available. There is an incline at the site entrance. Although there was a light rain, my Kia Telluride had no problems making it up the hill. Teri and Mike were outstanding hosts and had the site ready to go. Communication was excellent. I’ve already made my next reservation for October!
