Our beautiful 1800’s cabin was moved to the property in the 1970’s by a former neighbor who owned the property at the time. The same neighbor also had a historic train depot moved to the property where she sold antiques out of for several years. It is not sure what the cabin was used for at that time but it certainly added charm to the antique store property. When we acquired the property years later, the cabin was in need of work. It sat for a few years until we decided to restore this lovely cabin back to it’s beautiful charm and character. Jim spent a couple years on the project working in his free time and added the porch using old wood in keeping with the natural look and feel of the cabin as well as some interior areas. Upon completion, we opened the cabin as a gift shop selling unique items including antiques, primitives and decor for a few years. We decided to transition the cabin into a place of retreat for traveling guests and still keep some of the goods we sold in the shop available for purchase. We hope that you find the cabin and property a place of peace and tranquility and will want to return. Whether passing through for a night or a few days stay, you’re always welcome in our neck of the woods. Learn more about this land: Make a stop back in time to our quiet woodland retreat with an updated 1800’s log cabin nestled on the property. At Cabin and Company, you will be parked beside this beautiful cabin and will be allowed access at your leisure for a place to sit and relax. This semi secluded property is a gem and we hope you will enjoy this piece of history as much as we do. You may see wildlife such as whitetail deer and of course, there are plenty of birds and squirrels around. There are 6 to 7 restaurants less than 2 blocks from the property. We are a working homestead. Gardens full of herbs, berries, grapes, Annual Vegetables in Season. We are working on a garden greenhouse, a 20 foot yurt with wood stove, and Chickens with Fresh Eggs laid daily (available for purchase) Owner works from home and is always a text away. There are dogs, community Cats, and a Cat Sanctuary Rescue called The Black Sheep Cat-tuary. There is plenty of parking for small RVs and Camping Vans, Cars, etc. There is fresh delicious, clean and tested well water, 2 fire pits (lots of wood available for purchase, or just pick up some sticks around the property from the shade trees) There is a creek for wading in, lots of cats to love on, and places for hammocks, Electric outlets available to charge a cell phone, or other devices, and a simple compost toilet. If you are out of something just ask the owner or the dweller of the tiny house, we will share with you what we have. Momma Sycamore and our Weeping Willow offer a place of peace and quiet. Our 22 acre property is perfect for people who want to get away. There is only one house visible from ours. Its very quiet and secluded. We offer 50amp service, water hookup and dump station if needed. There is WIFI also available for RV Campers (we are in the country so it is what it is). There are 2 sites. One in the woods for tent campers and one up above for RV campers. We do not have showers or bathrooms for campers. The Big Blue River boarders the whole property. This was such a peaceful spot — I had the whole place to myself! Communication with the host was quick and easy, and they were very helpful. I’d definitely recommend arriving during the day, as the driveway can be a little tricky to spot at night and it’s fairly steep. Once settled in, we had a wonderful time by the river and enjoyed the gorgeous fall colors. Highly recommend!

I had a great experience at The Hollow at Cattail Springs! I was the only one onsite during my time there, so I had the whole place available to me. There was plenty of firewood so the fire stayed hot, I had complete access to the pond, and I had ample time of solitude which I was after. I couldn't recommend booking through Cole enough! He was there waiting for me when I arrived and was like talking to someone I had known for a long time. Thanks for the hospitality!

Georgous place! Perfect place to relax and unwind. We stayed here in October and enjoyed the fall colors on the Ohio River which were beautiful. The sites are perfect for boat and barge watching. Randy is super. He was attentive to all our needs. This is my new favorite campground. We will be back.

What is unique and special place to camp. The p heroperty is extremely well maintained with all the amenities you could want with Access to the awesome cabin just feet away from your campsite.

The Hideout is located on the south side of Cattail Springs five-acre pond. The site is mostly sunny, but has a little shade. (Bring cover with you if you want guaranteed shade). It has a few areas to access the pond for fishing (catch and release) and is near the canoe drop in spot. To access this campsite, a flat, short walk will be required through the woods. Fire pit and picnic table provided. Porta potty is located on the other side of the pond (near where you'll park).

The hideout was great! A large space to spread out and a beautiful view of the pond. Thoughtful additions, like well kept trails to ensure privacy, firewood, trash bins and a cart to get your gear to camp. Instructions were easy to follow and hosts were very communicative. Would stay again!

Weekend Trip to Cattail Springs

Super lovely campsite. My friend and I stayed here for a weekend for a little relaxing getaway. Although we didn't get to meet Cole it was such an enjoyable and welcoming stay. There was firewood at our campsite when we arrived and he had plenty in case you needed more(brought our own packs since we didn't know haha). But overall would recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice private camp weekend. The Cove was wonderful and secluded and you could barely hear the highway at night. Overall 10/10!!!

Weekend Trip to A Notch Above-RV Riverside Campsite

We had an amazing time at A Notch Above. It was us and our friends at the site next to us. It was perfect for buddy camping. We had sites 2 and 3. Our campers faced the river and ir was a beautiful view. We were fortunate enough to see multiple bald eagles and many other birds. Watching the different barges and boats mo e up and down the river was another nice thing about camping at Randy's place. Randy is a very nice, helpful host. I would definitely recommend A Notch Above if you are looking for scenic views and relaxation.

Weekend Trip to A Notch Above-RV Riverside Campsite

What a great location and beautiful site. The entrance looks tricky but worked out perfectly. We enjoyed the river, bardges, bald eagles and looking at the stars. Some things to note the road behind you is close and there is some road noise but it didn't bother us. There is a porta potty on site in the middle but it was clean and did not smell. Randy was available when needed and even checked in to make sure we arrived ok. Will return

3 nights at A Notch Above-RV Riverside Campsite

The site was very level and spacious. The firepit was located right by the river. We sat there every night with a fire and watched the barges go by. My only negative was the septic hookup. I have never delt with one that was sideways out of the ground. It backed up and leaked gray tank water all over so I was not able to completely empty my tank.

Waterfront campsite location situated at the bottom of the hill. Adjacent to former stone quarry rocky edge with ease of access to fish from the dock (catch and release), relax by the fire pit, enjoy the outdoor dining area and more.

Very peaceful, you don’t even know you’re close to the road/highway! The grounds were very well kept and the pond had great fishing. Cole swung by and checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed! Very kind and personable. Would definitely recommend for a weekend camping trip!

The hideout was awesome for camping with our dogs! They were able to be on long tie outs without any worry about other animals or people walking through. They have put alot of thought and effort into guests privacy! Fishing from the campsite was on point and my husband caught the biggest bass he has ever caught! (See the photo) Would definitely recommend trying it out for yourself! Groceries, gas, ice, etc all less than a 5 min drive away! Starbucks too! 😉 They are in the process of adding glampers and can't wait to try those out!

Weekend Trip to Cattail Springs

Cole & Janel were great hosts. The property was awesome with great personal space between camp sites. Cole was very attentive to our needs. We had family come to visit for the day and dinner. They enjoyed fishing and the peace and quiet at the camp. For a new private campground that is close to the freeway and shopping, this was a great spot and we will certainly be back when visiting family in Muncie. We stayed at the Eagles nest site which had 50amp power and water. Nice level spot to camp on with 26ft RV. Thank you Cole & Janel.
