Pet and feed the livestock. Fish and bird-watch. Take a yoga class (at times with goats or bunnies) in the center of the stone henge. Have coffee with goats. Just 12 miles north of the farm is Cataract Falls State Recreation Area. We are only 20 minutes from Bloomington and Indiana University; 45 minutes from Indianapolis Int'l Airport. This is a working farm with lots of livestock, electric fences, and working dogs, so please leave the farm animals alone unless someone from the farm is available and present. Dogs must be on a leash in the camping area. given the above features of a working livestock farm, the quarry ruins, the operative railroad tracks, and the river (not suitable for swimming), family friendly (children under the age of 18 must be attended by adults at all times).

During WWII our Camp provided RnR for soldiers, sailors and Army aviators stationed at the numerous training bases and facilities in/around Indianapolis and Central Indiana. It was our Granddad's Duty Station at age 60 while Grandma ran the canteen.

Pros: RV electric hookups. Clean onsite bathroom with running water, sink, flushing toilet and shower. Nice well maintained camping sites (tent and RV). Plenty of land to roam and enjoy nature. Beautiful views of the lakes, nature and wildlife.
Cons: Limited number of firepits. All 5 RV sites share one firepit. Not a real issue if you're the only one there but not great if there are other groups booked on site. Some of the camping sites have firepits but not all of them. Lakes have some junk in them, tires, etc. There is overflow from the river so when it floods the river flows into the lakes and it brings along the trash with it. It wasn't too bad but does give you pause when considering swimming or fishing.
Overall: We had a great trip and will book here again. The pro's outweigh the cons and it was a lot of fun getting away for a weekend with friends.

Hot showers and fire wood onsite. What more could you ask for?

Nice secluded and quiet little camp on a lazy river. Tom was easy to work with and very responsive. He answered my pre-trip questions within hours. I had a chance to meet Tom as I was leaving and it was great to get to know him and hear how his family has managed the property over the years. The camp itself is set in a quiet section of rural Indiana so you'll navigate a few miles off the freeway through cornfields and stands of hardwoods. The entry to the camp is through a gate in their field. You are close to other neat and tidy little homesteads and small farms, but the camp site is set well back from the road and is quiet and private. The road back is unpaved and you are driving essentially on a mowed grass strip on the edge of the farmers field until you get to the campground. Most vehicles will do fine, but you may not want to bring a low vehicle. There is room for likely 2-3 independent campers there if they spread out, the area has some nice little clearings in the trees, but the clearings are modest so a single vehicle or a vehicle with a small trailer would be best. I had a large SUV and was towing a small 7 foot wide by 15 foot long trailer (tongue to tail) and it was manageable. There is no water or electricity to the camp. But there is a clean porta potty and nice touches like plenty of trash cans, a picnic table, and Tom has been very good to supply plastic tubs of some standard camping items and things you may have forgotten.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The site was not only beautiful, but very well maintained and clean. My boys enjoyed exploring the land and cooling off in the river. Thomas was quick to respond to any questions we had and offer suggestions for food. I would definitely recommend the camp site/ host to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway!

This place is just fantastic! Excellent sites and amenities, the property was beautiful and well-maintained, and it was very peaceful. The pictures really don't do justice to how beautiful it is. The owners were very helpful and welcoming, but give you your space as well which is always appreciated. I'll be back with my kids soon!

We really enjoyed camping with our teardrop in a secluded site. Hosts were very responsive, friendly and we loved the fresh eggs. Great location - we recommend going to the Bloomington farmers market on Sat mornings, McCormick state park and the brewpub (Civilian Brewing) in nearby Spencer IN.

A heartfelt thank you to the host/hostess for an amazing experience. We so enjoyed your Shepherd's pie and the warm soda bread. The breakfast casserole hit the spot.
Coffee with goats was immersive and extraordinary! Phil was so kind and patient with my silly questions. He also made stellar coffee!
The campsite was perfect. Port O Potty was conveniently located and had a hand-washing station. Fancy!
Close to Cataract Falls, McCormick Creek and Spencer. We will be back.

Weekend Trip to Restwood Camp
The view of the creek is beautiful and it was a quiet and peaceful campsite. The privacy and seclusion was a needed break from the city. Tom was an excellent host: helpful, responsive, and the included firewood onsite was a 5 star perk on a cold night. The site was clean, secluded, yet conveniently close to the interstate. We had no problem finding the place with google maps and Toms instructions. The star gazing at night was great! We saw deer, birds, and other wildlife by the water. Overall, 10/10 we look forward to returning!
