Description (site overview)
Our property is nestled bellow the mountains in the upper country of Idaho close to the small quaint farm towns of Midvale and Cambridge where the nearest stoplight is 30 miles away. Whether you are looking to escape hussell and bussell or have a base camp for your next adventure, you've come to the right place! The campsite is perched up near the large pond about 1000 feet off the main road (which you may see 5 cars a day on or the occasional horseback rider). And not to worry, there is a decent driveway that will bring you within 100 feet of the campsite, a The pond is an oasis for passing ducks and geese and other wildlife. Once you've established yourself enjoy a nice walk around the pond, cast a line off the pedal boat (catch and release), or enjoy a picnic on the island with the ducks and geese. Peace and quiet is all to be had here (other than the occasional bull frog croaking.) But if adventure is what you seek, adventure you will have! Known as the gateway to Hells Canyon, there are many things to do within 5 minutes to 1 hours drive. Drop into Midvale to hit the Weiser River Trail via hiking, horseback, or mountain bike (electric bikes too). Embark on an off road adventure with your UTV/ATV, or motorcycle up the nearby mountains to Sturgill Peak Lookout where you can see 100 miles in every direction. Schedule an excursion in Hells Canyon (deeper than the grand canyon) or take a dip at the local Mundo hot spring. Fishing and floating can be had at the near by Weiser river or boating at Crane Creek Reservoir. Or maybe you're looking for a base camp for hunting season. Again, the recreational possibilities are endless! Bring your supplies and stay at camp or take a short bike ride/drive into town for some food at the Coffee Cabin or a drink at the local tavern. Maybe you forgot something? the Midvale Market has you covered, and they have adult beverages too, open 7 days a week. Midvale also has a nice little park and a local swimming pool.
Site guidelines
Respect the locals and they will return the favor. We have a great small town community that looks out for one another. You can ride recreational vehicles on most of the local roads if you choose to bring them, just be respectful of the local laws and courteous to the neighbors who live on dirt roads by keeping the dust down when you pass by. No riding off trails/roads, especially on our property! Please bring life jackets or appropriate floatation devices for children who plan to play or swim in the pond. Explore the property and feel free to pick up wood and branches from the ground for the fire pit, but please do not remove or cut down any trees, and keep fires contained in the fire pit and do not burn when it's windy. Bedding is NOT provided at this time. There is a sheet Please bring sleeping bags or desired bedding for the covered queen bed. We also just built a brand new outhouse! We are slowly adding more amenities and plan to build an outdoor shower next.
There is an extra tent under the bed for the kiddos or other guests, also a pop up shad for the warm afternoons, it covers the deck nicely.

We have 125 acre farm ranch that is waterfront on brownlee reservoir. We have 5 different camping vacations options. 1 cabin to rent. 1 camp trailer on a nice waterfront lot as well as 3 camp sports 1 with water and power hook ups (site. 2 water wheel) and 2 dry camp spots. we have a spot to launch boats which is right between sight 3 and 4. Good fishing. Very little boat traffic. Very private. In the fall big horn sheep frequently rut on the property. We usually have fresh eggs on hand. Dry climate. Sage brush and juniper trees here. We have an easy to access spot to fill up water to your camp trailers or rvs. The water is from a spring and Water tastes really good.
We just added a 24ft pontoon boat for rent.
This area has a lot of history. Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe often stayed in this area and on the property. In fact this was where his tribe met to discuss and decide to try to go to escape to Canada. This is where that journey started. You can still find arrow heads on the shoreline every so often. I’m ruffly 15 miles north of Huntington oregon. 13 miles of which is dirt road. The property sits at the base of lookout mountain. Really good cell service here with Verizon Full bars. If you decide to come camp make sure your directions take you through Huntington. Google sometimes likes to try to get people to drive over the mountain. Or if your coming from the north it sometimes wants you to go through Richland and then on 34 miles of dirt road. Going Through Huntington onto snake river rd is the easy way to go.

You could say Boise National Forest is in the tri-forest area. It is surrounded on all sides by Payette, Salmon-Challis, and Sawtooth National Forests, it is situated conveniently close to both urban fun in Boise, and limitless wilderness adventures everywhere else. Alpine tundra is dotted with evergreen forest in the green rolling hills here, topped with snow, and anchored by sparkling valley waterways. The Payette River is great for rafting, while Banks Beach and Beehive Bend are just some of the prime access points on the forest’s 250 lakes and reservoirs (Arrowrock Reservoir has surprisingly primo salmon fishing for central Idaho).
Hikers will find 500 trails, including some that lead to 360-panoramic views at fire lookouts. The ambitious should try 10,000-foot high Trinity Mountain, while more liesurely trekkers will get just as good a view at Silver Creek. As if that’s not all enough to keep you busy, there are also endless mountain biking trails, including a scenic route along Shafer Butte. You’ll have your hands full at this intersection of so many great parks!

Built in the 1940's by the late actor Eugene Pallette as a hideaway from Hollywood and a Refuge from looming world disaster after World War 2. There once was a cannery, a power plant a sawmill and a 5,000 sq' concrete warehouse built to withstand anything and house years of provisions. Many buildings are still standing and utilized.
The past guest list included Cark Gable (Gone with The Wind) Amelia Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan and Errol Flynn and many more. Located on the shores of the Imnaha river we have 2 miles of accessible, private spots. There is a lot of wildlife here and there is no better place to "unwind" and regroup.
Pitch your tent in total privacy along the shores of the River and then kick back and take in all the sights and sounds of Nature. Surrounded by canyons on all sides tucked away in a private Valley is 300+ acres of room to roam along the river. We have firewood and frozen bottles of water for coolers available for an extra charge And have added 3 outhouses.

This property, which we named Butterfield Farms, was built in 1915 by August Broderson, who emigrated from Germany to the US in 1892. PRIVATE MOUNTAIN YURT NEAR GARDEN VALLEY, IDAHO
Camp in comfort on nearly 45 secluded wooded acres between Banks and Crouch, about a mile from the South Fork of the Payette River. This private mountain yurt offers an authentic Idaho wilderness experience with electricity, Starlink Wi-Fi, heat, air conditioning, propane cooking, a wood stove, and a large private deck.
This is not a campground loop, neighborhood, or glamping resort. The yurt sits by itself in the forest, surrounded by ponderosa pines, wildlife, dark skies, and quiet mountain terrain.
SLEEPING
The open-layout yurt sleeps up to 5 guests:
• Two guests on the padded lower bunk
• One guest on the padded upper bunk
• Two guests on the futon
The bunks use padded sleeping mats rather than conventional mattresses. Guests who prefer additional cushioning may bring a sleeping pad or inflatable mattress.
Bedding, pillows, and towels are not provided. Bring sheets, blankets or sleeping bags appropriate for the season, pillows, and towels. Winter-rated sleeping bags are strongly recommended during cold weather.
POWER, WIFI, HEATING AND COOLING
The yurt has electricity and fast Starlink Wi-Fi. The mini-split provides heat and air conditioning, making the yurt comfortable during both hot summer days and cold mountain nights.
A wood stove is available for supplemental heat and ambiance. Firewood is not provided for the wood stove or outdoor firepit but can be purchased locally in Crouch or Garden Valley.
COOKING
The yurt includes:
• 2-burner propane stove
• Cast-iron griddle
• Propane grill on the deck
• Mini fridge
• Drip coffee maker and Keurig
• Hot-water kettle
• Cookware, dishes, utensils, spices, salt, pepper, and cooking oil
There is no conventional oven.
WATER AND TOILET
There is no running water, shower, or indoor bathroom.
Fresh water is provided in 5-gallon containers for drinking, cooking, and washing dishes. The yurt has an indoor dishwashing sink, but it is not connected to plumbing.
A clean private porta-potty is located about 100 ft from the yurt and professionally serviced weekly.
PARKING AND ACCESS
There is no parking directly beside the yurt.
Guests may unload gear near the porta-potty, which is a short walk from the yurt. After unloading, vehicles must be moved to one of two designated parking areas. Both require a short uphill walk.
The path is natural mountain terrain and may be uneven, dusty, muddy, snowy, icy, or slippery depending on weather.
The final approach is a narrow rock and dirt mountain road with steep sections. Apple Maps and Google Maps may route guests incorrectly, so detailed directions, GPS coordinates, parking instructions, and unloading guidance are provided before arrival.
During winter, AWD or 4WD with proper winter tires or chains is required.
LIGHTING
The yurt has interior electric lighting but no exterior lighting. Bring headlamps or flashlights and plan to arrive before dark when possible.
DOGS
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome when included in the reservation.
Dogs must remain leashed whenever outside, may not be left unattended inside the yurt, and must leave with you whenever you leave the property. Please pick up all pet waste.
We have two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and free-range chickens elsewhere on the property, so strict leash control is required.
WILDLIFE AND FIRES
This is active wildlife habitat. Guests may encounter deer, elk, turkey, skunks, porcupines, snakes, foxes, bobcats, bears, mountain lions, and other wildlife.
Never approach or feed wildlife, and do not leave food, pet food, or trash outside.
All fires must follow current restrictions, remain attended, and be fully extinguished before sleeping or leaving. Outdoor fires may be prohibited during periods of high fire danger.

There are two private roadside spots available that can accommodate tent camping and/or trailers. Spot A is slightly larger, while spot B is a bit smaller — but I’ve parked my 35-foot bumper-pull toy hauler trailer on it before, with the toy door open and plenty of room behind it, no issues at all.
Campfires are allowed on both sites; however, you must observe and comply with any fire ban periods.
Legal hunting and fishing are welcome on the surrounding BLM land! Please follow all hunting and fishing laws and carry the proper licenses and tags with you at all times while participating.

We are located on the Weiser River, within walking distance of the Country Coffee Cabin Café on Highway 95. The Weiser River Trail, the Post Office, Library, and local Mercantile in the Village of Midvale (Pop. 200) are all just a short walk away.
Our property sits beneath the iconic Midvale Water Tower. There is a public boat launch a short distance from us for access to the Weiser River.
The RV hookup is next to a small fenced fruit orchard/garden designed to keep deer out. You will have a 30 AMP hookup and water—no dump. The nearest dump site is 8 miles away at the fairgrounds in Cambridge, ID.
Every year on Memorial Day weekend, the annual Weiser River Wagon Train and Ride passes through Midvale, camping overnight in the town park with their horses and wagons. In April, there may be a cattle drive right through Main Street, just a block away. In July, the town hosts a Fourth of July parade. Small-town living at its best—quiet, restful, and a great place to stop overnight or stay awhile.

3 nights at Upper Country Paradise Camping
The glamping tent was great! It was a really thoughtful setup. We forgot to bring bug spray, but there was already some provided, which was a nice surprise.
The paddle boat was a lot of fun, although it was a little hard to pedal at first because there was some long water grass wrapped around the paddle mechanism on the bottom. Once I removed it, it was much easier.
We visited during some of the hotter days, and I can definitely say the tent gets hot in the afternoon. I’d recommend bringing a fan or something else to help keep cool if you’re staying during the summer.
There were lots of birds around, the stars were absolutely amazing at night, and we could even hear some howling in the distance, which I thought was really cool. Overall, it’s a great place if you’re looking to get away from people and enjoy some peace and quiet. I’d definitely recommend it!

Oh my gosh!!!! Where do I even start - this space is incredible and I cant wait to come back.
Michelle and Larry were AMAZING hosts and graciously helped our party out when we got a flat tire right before checkout. Thank you x a million. <3
The drive into the campsite from Joseph was beautiful and we felt so secluded from "the real world" - A wonderful way to get off electronics and enjoy the scenery and nature.
The horses on the property were so friendly and let us pet them - great cherry on top to this trip!
We camped in the rain and still had a fabulous time. This spot is great for getting away and connecting with yourself and nature.

First off i have say what incredible hosts Michelle and Larry were. On the last day when we were leaving, one of our cars popped a tire 😬. L&M immediately helped us diagnose and make a plan to fix it. Larry even donated an extra tire he had so we could make it out of the mountains safe. This was not something they had to do and we were extremely grateful to have such generous hosts. Absolutely would recommend this place to anyone looking to get away and get some rejuvenation. Beautiful landscape and ample room to explore the nearby woods and river. The horses on the property ended up being my favorite part of the trip as we were able to walk up to theire enclosure and interact with them at our leisure. We had a wonderful time (despite the tire issues) and hope to return in the future.

Weekend Trip to Upper Country Paradise Camping
The land is absolutely gorgeous with stunning views! We had such a great time. The hipcamp tent was cozy and mattress was comfortable. It felt a bit cluttered with supplies laying around everywhere and a few lights didn’t have working batteries, but not anything to kill the vibe of the space overall.

14 ft pop-up camper
We stayed at campsite #3. It was so great. We brought Kayaks and paddle boards and the access to putti by them in couldn’t have been easier. I was a little concerned that it was right off the road at first but the traffic was actually not much at all and I never saw anyone driving fast. The Hosts were amazing, we bought the farm fresh eggs and you would be missing out if you didn’t get some while you are there.
Clover their dog was an excellent host to my dog Biscuits and they got along famously. We loved her.
I had never been to the Snake River and I loved it! It was 100% worth the six hour drive from the Portland area. The water was beautiful.
10/10 recommend! We will be back. I love finding great finds like this.

That was probably the best reservation campsite that I have ever been to. Easy to get to, private space all to ourselves, and Meredith was super friendly and helpful. First time exploring the Council area and ready to check our more places in the area. We will definitely be back soon!

Love this spot. In the fall the water is low and you have to hike down the shale bank to get to it and in the Spring it is so high you can see tree tops sticking out the top of the water. Star gazing galore! Winding dirt road for 30minutes before you arrive. The host does have dogs who roam around and he sends his wife to check you in and I don’t know if she is hard of hearing or what but my dogs did not want her dogs around. I mentioned it before arriving that I have one rescue dog who is incredibly anxious with strangers and especially strange dogs and she didn’t leash or call off her pets and just stood there laughing while my dog peep himself and freaked out. The spot is great, maybe she could stay home with the dogs and leave the very easy check in instructions for guests.

3 nights at Waterfront cabin and camping
Danny is an amazing host. Greeted us on arrival. Gave us fishing pointers and a rundown on the spot. The camper is in great shape. Everything worked as it should. The dogs were great. They would visit along with there pig and some ducks. Fishing was good. Averaged about 10 catfish per day. Caught crappie and bass also. We will be back.

Site 3 was the perfect little private spot for tent camping! The views were absolutely beautiful, and the site had everything we could’ve asked for. We loved being tucked away with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the weekend. The driftwood along the beach provided more than enough firewood for us the entire stay, which made the evenings by the fire even better.
The site was easy to find and completely worth the trip. Clover (the dog) came by to visit us often and was such a sweet bonus to the experience. We even spotted a pig a few times! Overall, it was such a peaceful and fun camping experience, and we already plan on coming back. Thanks again, Danny!

My partner and I had a great experience RV camping on Meredith's property! Her land had beautiful views of the mountains from ever directions. We enjoyed seeing all of her animals including horses, cows, goats, and a sweet little pup that would come up to the camper and say hi. Meredith and her son were very helpful and kind during our stay! They helped us with the generator and even invited us for a bonfire/hotdogs. Would definitely recommend this stay to anyone spending time in Council, ID.

This was such a great find! We stayed one night while biking the Weiser Trail. The site was clean and thoughtfully designed. The yurt easily fit my family of three. The outhouse was clean. They even provided helpful details like lanterns in the outhouse, fairy lights in the yurt, and a paddle boat in the pond. The pond didn't seem clean enough to swim in but I assume that's related to our unreasonably warm winter and drought. We would definitely stay here again.

I absolutely loved every second of camping on Chris's land! Breathtaking views from all directions. Loved the little pond with the paddleboat! The musical symphony from the birds was such a delight to my ears! Stocked as listed. I highly highly highly recommend a stay here! It was exactly what I was looking for. Peaceful retreat🦋✨️
