Be advised this is directly next to State Highway 3. If you are a light sleeper, or road noise bothers you, this is not the campsite for you.
At the camp, you can launch your kayaks at the river to go for an adventure down through the Chain Lakes, all eight are accessible by the river adjacent to where you will sleep.
The bird and wildlife watching in this area is world class. Ospreys, hawks, turkeys and other animals commonly hang out in these parts.
You can go for a swim at one of the sandbars, take your dirt bikes or side by sides down Killarney Lake Road to access an extensive network of trails and dirt roads into remote wilderness.
There is no cell service, no water or electrical hookups, or toilet. As beautiful as it is, your experience will not be “glamping” unless you come with all the comforts you personally desire.
You can hunt on the forest service land by 4th of July Pass, fish on the river, or on the Chain Lakes (with the proper permits, of course).
There is a access into the water from camp but it is quite steep. For easy access to the water, use the docks or boat launch at Killarney Lake or Bull Run.
Pets and kids are allowed at your own risk. Be advised the highway and river are hazardous for off-leash animals and rambunctious toddlers.

Loved the landscape and park like setting. Picnic tables, fire pit, nice well mowed grassy area, rock walls, and artsy decorations.
Short walk to creek and some interesting mining history.

Ever had that perfect spot where the sky is clear, the air is fresh, and the view is wonderful? This is it! A great place for small groups, kayaking, floating the river or biking the Trail of the CDA's. The hosts are kind. Communication is excellent! Directions are clear!

Mike and Brenda’s place is a perfect place to park your rv during a trip to ride the bike trail. It is such a beautiful area , remote and private yet right next to the trail ! We always try to stay here on our bike trips. Mike is such a great host and we always enjoy chatting with him. Thank you so much!

Great spot! Isolated and close to water. Water is fine to swim in as I think most bodies of water in this area have the same warnings just maybe not as concentrated? Idk, my husband and I didn’t grow any extra limbs or anything crazy! Plan to come back again soon :)

Lisa’s property was well maintained and had a number of nice amenities like Cornhole, Horseshoes, firepit with plenty of wood available and water/electricity.
We stayed at the lower unit which had a nice grassy area that would be great for families.
Lisa and her husband were very friendly and accommodating.
The only negatives were during the week there is a major reclamation project from the old mine just up the road so there were many trucks starting at 7AM - 5PM that drove by all day.
I also thought that the creek was going to be viewable, but it is across the road and set lower so you can only hear it from the campsite.
Overall, it was a pleasant location in a valley and

There were five of us in two camper pickups, Sprinter Van and one tent.

The location is rather intriguing. The campground is a mining ghost town. All the sites are a long the only road in and out of the narrow canyon. It's super quiet. Lisa is friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.

Our family had another wonderful stay at Mike and Brenda‘s beautiful spot by the river (year 4!!). We always bike in along the trail of Coeur d’Alene and appreciate the location as a perfect camping spot for our family.
