We have created this place and lived here for over 20 years. Our two boys who are 17 and 20 love to play and create their own piece of heaven. We desire to share it with others and allow them to see the magic of yurt living. We also live in a 30-ft yurt on the property that is our special place. Learn more about this land: This 14-foot yurt is a short walk of about 50 yards from the guest parking. You will pass our 30-ft family yurt going to your own private space. The property has a great remote feeling and has space to move around. There is a queen custom bed and room for a child or two on the floor if desired. There is a small gravity feed water system for the yurt and your own private outhouse. Plenty of wood for you to stay warm by the fire inside and an outdoor shower shared by our family. The kitchen comes with pots and pans, plates, etc. and a few extras. You will hear the sounds of nature and North Idaho at times out in your yurt as trains pass through the valley to Canada. We are 1.5 miles away from the tracks. If you are into being independent and open to new experiences then we would love to share our space with you. Please pull in the drive and pull up past the big garage and park to the left by the Yurt Parking Sign. Then walk towards the trail sign and follow the path. Recommended for you to bring a headlamp and outdoor slippers to walk to the outhouse or shower during your stay. We have towels at the yurt for your use. We can provide a Therm-a-rest bed for your child if needed. Please bring your own wood for outside fires at the fire pit. Currently there is fire restriction in effect.

You are in a forest on land shaped by the last Ice Age, The forest has nurtured generations of of wildlife including majestic birds of prey. It sustained the Kootenai People before borders separated their lands. It saw determined miners pass this way seeking their fortune in gold from British Columbia. This forest supplied timber to build railroads and homes for families in the western migration. Our family is the current steward of this forest and it is our wish to respectfully share its beauty and observe its wildlife with your family and friends! Our Forest is surrounded by Kaniksu National Forest which is managed by the United States Forest Service (USFS) as part of the Idaho Panhandle. National Forest.. The Moyie River ( say Moy-yay) has headwaters at Moyie Lake in British Columbia and feeds into the Kootenai River (say Koo-ten-e) just East of Bonners Ferry. The Moyie River is 95 miles long. The area is private, so there is no view of the neighbors. You’ll have a broken view of the Host’s Cabin. Camp is situated on 15.4 acres of Certified Family Forest. If you hear the rumble of a train at night, it's because the Union Pacific passes along the opposite edge of the property from the campsites. There is no mobile phone service at the campsite . There is WiFi at the campsite shelter. We strongly suggest you activate the “Cell over WiFi “ function on your smartphone BEFORE you arrive/lose cell signal so you can access Emergency 911 Services. There is a fire pit (firewood provided), covered shelter, a USFS-style charcoal grill, (bring charcoal and starter), picnic table, benches, bear-proof food storage box and TEMPORARY trash bin. Please plan to "pack-out" all of your trash and recyclables. There are a lot of deer roaming the property, along with many birds and other wildlife . OUR NIGHTLY CHARGE Includes all the firewood you need and a 10% Hipcamp Service Fee. It does not include 6% Idaho Sales Tax and 2% Idaho Convention and Travel Tax. Be Bear Aware : From April 1 - November 1 all food, beverages and trash must never be left unattended and, all of the same, be stored properly. This is a very private and quiet place, more of a sanctuary and not a party place. The only thing you hear is nature, a breeze through the pine trees, the birds, and the creek. This property was and is an organic permaculture farm in the forest. There are two orchards and an organic garden. The water is from a spring. The La Luna cabin is no longer off grid, but if the power does go out, it's a great place to be.. Hot Showers at my cabins are private and outdoors. There's nothing more wonderful than a hot spring-fed shower. The toilets are composting. (No water is wasted here)! Two of the cabins were built from the trees on the property by the first family that lived here in the earlier 1900s. The Birds Nest cabin was originally a tool shed that needed a LOT of Love to be in the condition that it is today. It does have power, running water and wi-fi. There is the option to take an acrylic painting class, banjo, guitar or fiddle lessons, paddleboard lessons, and have a real old-timey campfire with a glass of wine or two with live music performed by our famous Fiddlin Red on the fiddle, banjo, and guitar. Your experience here may change your life forever! We haven't added all the experiential options yet, so if there is something you are interested in please inquire. Every year we make it more and more magical and interesting. It's four miles up a county-maintained dirt road and one mile to a non-motorized lake. I can't see my neighbors, but they are awesome artists and musicians and some of them are off the grid! If you're bringing a pet, they must be on a leash and be quiet pets. If you are bringing a child they also need to be quiet and respectful. I want to keep my neighbors and my other guests happy with a peaceful atmosphere. Thank you!

A well-controlled, four-legged companion that can be trusted to not chase wildlife would also be welcome.  *Please let host know in-advance of intention to bring a pet. Trestle Creek Park on the shore of Lake Pend Oreille, is another of our favorite places and it's only a 16-mile drive through some of the most picturesque areas of the NW. After a fun filled day exploring North Idaho come and relax at The Lost Fainting Goat Ranch, an amusing name for a place we call home. There is a separate private driveway, and you will have the whole camp area to yourselves, yet we aren't far away should a need arise. You may occasionally hear us (4 busy kids, 1 fat cat, 2 friendly dogs, 1 noisy rooster and 11 happy hens yet still no fainting goats) but we want you to feel like you are in your own private sanctuary. We are offering a new furnished bell tent in a secluded area of our private property in the beautiful mountains of Sandpoint Idaho. Our camp area is along a quiet creek that is visited by deer, wild turkey, squirls and even the occasional moose. There are also those less desirable critters that live in nature like insects, and we do try and mitigate those troublemakers with screens, traps, Diatomaceous Earth and other natural means. This area of our property is off grid with a wonderful shower house built from wood milled from our own land, complete with hot water and a compost toilet. We even provide Starlink WiFi and a way to charge cell phones thanks to our solar charged batteries. There is a fire pit, comfy chairs, a beautiful picnic table, again, made from wood from our own land, and a screened in area with cooking supplies. Our family enjoys hosting guests and we enjoy meeting new people. The most common phrase we heard when we first moved here was "Welcome to Idaho!" We hope you love it here as much as we do. Learn more about this land: This 14-foot yurt is a short walk of about 50 yards from the guest parking. You will pass our 30-ft family yurt going to your own private space. The property has a great remote feeling and has space to move around. There is a queen custom bed and room for a child or two on the floor if desired. There is a small gravity feed water system for the yurt and your own private outhouse. Plenty of wood for you to stay warm by the fire inside and an outdoor shower shared by our family. The kitchen comes with pots and pans, plates, etc. and a few extras. You will hear the sounds of nature and North Idaho at times out in your yurt as trains pass through the valley to Canada. We are 1.5 miles away from the tracks. If you are into being independent and open to new experiences then we would love to share our space with you. The Moyie River ( say Moy-yay) has headwaters at Moyie Lake in British Columbia and feeds into the Kootenai River (say Koo-ten-e) just East of Bonners Ferry. The Moyie River is 95 miles long. This property was and is an organic permaculture farm in the forest. There are two orchards and an organic garden. The water is from a spring. The La Luna cabin is no longer off grid, but if the power does go out, it's a great place to be.. Hot Showers at my cabins are private and outdoors. There's nothing more wonderful than a hot spring-fed shower. The toilets are composting. (No water is wasted here)! Two of the cabins were built from the trees on the property by the first family that lived here in the earlier 1900s. The Birds Nest cabin was originally a tool shed that needed a LOT of Love to be in the condition that it is today. It does have power, running water and wi-fi. There is the option to take an acrylic painting class, banjo, guitar or fiddle lessons, paddleboard lessons, and have a real old-timey campfire with a glass of wine or two with live music performed by our famous Fiddlin Red on the fiddle, banjo, and guitar. Your experience here may change your life forever! We haven't added all the experiential options yet, so if there is something you are interested in please inquire. Every year we make it more and more magical and interesting. It's four miles up a county-maintained dirt road and one mile to a non-motorized lake. I can't see my neighbors, but they are awesome artists and musicians and some of them are off the grid! If you're bringing a pet, they must be on a leash and be quiet pets. If you are bringing a child they also need to be quiet and respectful. I want to keep my neighbors and my other guests happy with a peaceful atmosphere. Thank you!

Camper's choice of homemade cinnamon rolls or scones on the first morning, a 16x16' tent platform, Separette toilet, potable water, dock for fishing or foot dangling, warm-weather-(ambient)-heated water for rinse-off (sort-of showering) and a canoe to enjoy. A well-controlled, four-legged companion that can be trusted to not chase wildlife would also be welcome.  *Please let host know in-advance of intention to bring a pet. Trestle Creek Park on the shore of Lake Pend Oreille, is another of our favorite places and it's only a 16-mile drive through some of the most picturesque areas of the NW. After a fun filled day exploring North Idaho come and relax at The Lost Fainting Goat Ranch, an amusing name for a place we call home. There is a separate private driveway, and you will have the whole camp area to yourselves, yet we aren't far away should a need arise. You may occasionally hear us (4 busy kids, 1 fat cat, 2 friendly dogs, 1 noisy rooster and 11 happy hens yet still no fainting goats) but we want you to feel like you are in your own private sanctuary. We are offering a new furnished bell tent in a secluded area of our private property in the beautiful mountains of Sandpoint Idaho. Our camp area is along a quiet creek that is visited by deer, wild turkey, squirls and even the occasional moose. There are also those less desirable critters that live in nature like insects, and we do try and mitigate those troublemakers with screens, traps, Diatomaceous Earth and other natural means. This area of our property is off grid with a wonderful shower house built from wood milled from our own land, complete with hot water and a compost toilet. We even provide Starlink WiFi and a way to charge cell phones thanks to our solar charged batteries. There is a fire pit, comfy chairs, a beautiful picnic table, again, made from wood from our own land, and a screened in area with cooking supplies. Our family enjoys hosting guests and we enjoy meeting new people. The most common phrase we heard when we first moved here was "Welcome to Idaho!" We hope you love it here as much as we do. When you reserve your time with us, please look for messages regarding directions and check-in instructions, we like to meet everyone to show you around and it gets pretty dark out here in the country and the cell coverage is pretty spotty in our area. Our winter visit to the Far North was excellent. The cabin was a perfect place to spend time together. We loved the selection of books available to visitors during our stay. It was great to have kitchen equipment and to use it easily. The fireplace kept us nice and cozy on snowy, cold days outside. The Views are stunning, with no one around but our family. It was ‘dry’ camping because of the late season, but that did not stop us from having quality time together. I love that Paul provides firewood. He was great at communication and make us so welcome at his property.

What a great spot! Paul is a welcoming host that has set up a great site for guests. There is a nice building with a shower, and a separate toilet building. It’s a beautiful, peaceful, nicely maintained property. My dogs were very at home there. I would love to stay there again.

We loved our stay at the farm! The tent was private in the woods and we came up to the farm’s shop for fresh ice cream and fresh eggs and also paid extra to help milk a cow haha our daughter loved the cows! The zipper didn’t work on the tent but otherwise everything was so lovely. We used the cook stove and they had some cook supplies in there too which was super nice. Would definitely recommend , I always wanted to try out glamping and the whole family had a lot of fun with it.

This is our second year at Matt and Susan’s place and we plan to return next year again. We love this spot! My sons and I spent the weekend in solitude enjoying good food, board games, and the river! Susan’s fresh cinnamon rolls are the cherry on top of a wonderful experience. We enjoyed swimming and paddle boarding around from the private dock, playing games by lamplight, and watching the wildlife around us. Highly recommend! We’ll be back!

lots to explore in the upper pack river valley. Our experience with Mike as a host was fantastic, very accommodating. The cottage is very cozy and has many little extras stocked insids, flashlights right where you need them if your going out in the night, board games and cards, reading material, a book on the hiking trails in the area, cutlery and the shower works great. We highly recommend this getaway. This cottage would also be a great location to have close access to hunting in the area during the season as well.

We landed across this place last minute due to schedule changes and we ended up loving it. Although the sites aren’t anything special (we had a pull through with water and electric, which offered more space than those with full hook-ups), we loved site 18. We opened up so we didn’t see anyone but had full access to the recreation area that no one seemed to use. We played Corn Hole, listened to music, played ball with our dog, all in this open area. The bathrooms, showers and laundry room are worth visiting this place, just to clean up. You will be shocked at what you experience. Enjoy!

We really enjoyed our time at the Cedar Grove Campsite! The setting was beautiful, peaceful and serene. The river was just yards away from our camper. The bathroom and shower buildings were very clean and well equipped. We were able to explore the property freely and felt comfortable and able to relax. Our dog was able to roam around with us as well. She loved it! Paul was easy to communicate with annd answered all of our questions ahead of arrival. Highly recommend the Copper Creek Falls hike. Short and easy, with picturesque falls at the end!

Shayne and Ryder are great people! Very friendly and they made sure that we had everything we needed when we checked in. Shayne even took our son to feed the horses and play with the goats while we unloaded our stuff. The Airstream was comfy and clean and Ryder made sure we knew how to work everything. It's very close to a couple different parks on the lake for swimming, fishing, etc. We'd definitely stay with them again!

Loved Paul’s little slice of the outdoors. Everything was thought of. Hookups , Bath house and bathroom right near the site. Lots of privacy. My boys loved fishing and exploring across the river, and Copper falls was a good hour excursion right around the corner. Only thing I accidentally over looked was this place is by the railroad. My toddler wasn’t such a super fan of that in the middle of the night , so if you’re tenting it just be aware it comes a couple times at night. Mosquitos are vicious - pack allllll the candles, spray and torches- day and night. We will be back next year, this place is so tranquil and leaves so much to be appreciated .

My spouse and I had an amazing time camping at Susan and Matt's. They are extremely kind hearted hosts and have a breathtakingly beautiful property along the Pend Orielle River they take great stewardship of. The camp site is very spacious, private, and well accommoted with amenities. We camp a fair amount and this is the best we've ever stayed at. Very grateful for their wonderful hospitalty and for making our weekend very special!

The location was perfect and just what we were looking for- close enough to town and the lake, but far enough to see the starts at night and listen to nature. 10/10 experience and I hope we can visit again!
