We knew our property was a special place when we found it during our search when we decided to move our alpaca farm from FL to GA. We have raised alpaca for last 17 years. They are a fiber producing animal (similar to sheep) as well as just a beautiful animal, have great personalities and it is amazing to watch the herd dynamics. We have 2 very spoiled donkeys (sister and brother-gelded) - have had them for about 18 years. We are committed to provide the best care possible for our animals and love to educate people about alpacas (and donkeys). There is a large covered deck overlooking the alpaca pastures - come hang out with them. We have a farm store onsite with various items for sale made out of the alpaca fiber (socks, scarves, sweaters, hats, plushies, etc). As part of your stay, we provide a short alpaca farm tour! There is a 2 acre pond on our property which is adjacent to the campsite area separated by a fence. The campsite area is located away from our main house and the alpaca barn. There is a picnic table available. We have a bathroom facility onsite (and in the future a shower) - a short walk from the campsite area. The Neature Preserve (formerly known as "Tabby's Trees") consists of 74 acres made up mostly of pine forest situated in the coastal plain. A creek runs along the western boundary of the property with an ephemeral (seasonal) wetland to the southwest. The overstory of the forest is dominated by loblolly and slash pine with a few longleaf pine sprinkled in, as well as turkey oak, live oak, laurel oak, and sweetgum. We have ~1.5 miles of trails that wind through a variety of ecosystems (trails can hiked or biked). The property has three primitive camping sites. Two of the sites are for tent camping only (where you would park your car along the hiking trail and then follow a separate path to get to the campsite), with one site that has enough space to park multiple cars or small camper right at the campsite. Prescribed fire is used at The Preserve to safely and efficiently restore and maintain productive ecosystems and to support our native plant and animal species. Exactly as advertised! Durand met us at the driveway, which is long and a bit narrow at a curve, but we had no problem with our 36' motorhome AND our towed F-150. He guided me as I backed into the spot next to the barn and horse field. Full hookup spot. Quiet place as we sat around the fire pit. Friendly horses who loved watermellon... Easy in and out of Statesboro and a great night sky view too! We will be back! Durand and Brooke were excellent hosts!

Employees were friendly. bathrooms and laundry rooms are clean and neat and serviced daily. “Rec room” was clean but boasts a ping pong table which has no unbroken ping pong paddles. And a pool table that you need to ask for lock code to unlock the pool sticks. And you need to pay an additional fee to get access to the rec room. I’ve is available for purchase at office. Lake is wonderful and there is a large dog fenced area for turning your dog loose. We enjoyed our stay enough we extended it by another wk!

Dwayne is a great host he went out of his way to make sure we got to our site even when we didn’t arrive until 9pm. I loved tent camping here! Me, a buddy, and my doggo camped under the trees here for 2 nights. The place is great and well taken care of and the host Lorine was a dream Super Host! She let us use her spring water to top off our containers, sprayed the grounds with anti-bug spray, and checked on us occasionally to make sure we needed anything while also giving us a tour of her grounds! Loved sharing stories with you Lorine! Will definitely be back here again.

I think the yurt was absolutely great for a glamping trip. It had all the amenities you could want and even extra. I will say that it was a little difficult to get to but Kim's instructions work extremely helpful. I do suggest that you use a truck or a Jeep not that a car can't get down there but it's just easier. I think it would be really even much better once some of the debris from all the flooding and hurricanes is taking care of so that you can enjoy kayaking down the river unblocked but there is much woods to explore and it's perfect getaway to be with nature.

2 nights at Magnolia Hill

I loved this spot and would recommend to anyone looking for a primitive, star gazing oasis outside of Savannah. Lorine’s quick responses and help were greatly appreciated! 😊 hope to come back again
