The Neature Preserve

The Neature Preserve (formerly known as "Tabby's Trees") consists of 74 acres made up mostly of pine forest situated in the coastal plain. A creek runs along the western boundary of the property with an ephemeral (seasonal) wetland to the southwest. The overstory of the forest is dominated by loblolly and slash pine with a few longleaf pine sprinkled in as well as turkey oak, live oak, laurel oak, and sweetgum. The property has two tent sites and one car camping site that can also accommodate a small camper. We have miles of trails through a variety of ecosystems that can hiked or biked. The Neature Preserve is all about restoring native habitat! Prescribed fire is used at The Preserve as a tool to restore and maintain ecosystems.
