The Neature Preserve

The Neature Preserve (formerly known as "Tabby's Trees") consists of 74 acres made up mostly of pine forest situated in the coastal plain. A creek runs along the western boundary of the property with an ephemeral (seasonal) wetland to the southwest. The overstory of the forest is dominated by loblolly and slash pine with a few longleaf pine sprinkled in, as well as turkey oak, live oak, laurel oak, and sweetgum. We have ~1.5 miles of trails that wind through a variety of ecosystems (trails can hiked or biked). The property has three primitive camping sites. Two of the sites are for tent camping only (where you would park your car along the hiking trail and then follow a separate path to get to the campsite), with one site that has enough space to park multiple cars or small camper right at the campsite. 

The Neature Preserve is all about restoring native habitat! Prescribed fire is used at The Preserve to safely and efficiently restore and maintain productive ecosystems and to support our native plant and animal species. Prescribed Fire:
- The interior of the South Loop was burned for the first time (in recent history) on February 14, 2024 and again on April 17, 2025.
- The interior of the North Loop, along with the similarly sized unit just east of the North Loop, was last burned April 11, 2023

Timber Management:
- Future plans include a timber thinning to reduce canopy density, clear cutting some sections to be replanted in longleaf pine. 

Wetland/Bog Restoration:
- Currently in progress: 
1) Canopy and midstory reduction (cut, pile, and burn) to support native, understory species 
2) Planting rare species, such as pitcher plants, to help improve their population size and genetic diversity

The Pine Cove Campsite fire ring. This campsite is surrounded by a diversity of native plant species, predominantly forbs (such as Bracken Fern & Cat Bells) and grasses (such as Wiregrass and Georgia Beargrass) with a Loblolly and Slash Pine canopy. 

No other humans or structures in sight! Just you and the forest :]

Bliss Hills Farm

Our beautiful unique property has been in the family for 3 generations. Over the years, our family, plus artists, musicians, & writers have come here to refresh and get inspiration from nature. But with Hipcamp, we've opened up for others to enjoy.  
We limit the number of guests staying here to no more than 10, but the daily average is only 4. 

We have walking trails, a pond where you can kayak, relax on the dock, or feed the huge fish (sorry no fishing allowed.) Also, on our property, there are swings, a tree house deck, obstacle course, fire pit area, wooden bridge, picnic table, and abundant bird life. There's also plenty of wide-open space where you can play frisbee, run, do yoga, and stargaze at night.

There's plenty to do in this area, using the farm as your base. Claxton, our hometown, is a great friendly, small-town with grocery and hardware stores and restaurants. Many guests like to side-trip over to the towns of Statesboro, Metter, Vidalia, and Savannah, plus the Golden Isles.

Night falls and the dock lights come on. 

The tree loft and obstacle course is available for adults, kids, and dogs.

Opal Island Sandbar

We purchased this property from our neighbors across the river. Ms. Opal always called this side "the island" after the run of the river changed years ago, splitting their property in half.

Remember this is a primitive camping area. No electric. I can bring you fresh water for drinking and cooking, or you can get it from our spickets at the greenhouse and garden area.
You will have 3 choice's to camp 

Next to a small pond in a shady place (we are cleaning up from some storms, it may not be ready for camping however you can still explore on foot and fish)

An open grassy field next to the garden, this space has spickets to hook up for water and a regular outlet for electricity but not to run a camper.

Under a large oak tree. 
You can drive right to this area. Very quiet and peaceful.

There are 2 spots by the pond, 2 spots in the grassy area and 1 under the oak tree. Water is available for all at the open grassy areas.

Two Horse Wagon RV Park

Located on a 200 acre farm ranch one mile from Dexter Georgia, Two Horse Wagon RV Park has ten full hockup sites with 46 feet camping space. Bring your golf cart, atv, horse or anthing you wish to enjoy the wide open space and country roads. Clear nite skies with stars and days full of birds to enjoy.

Two Horse Wagon RV Park has 10 full hookup sites on 200 acre working farm and ranch. Wild animals around wooded area and swamp with hay fields. Horses, ATV, golf cart are allowed with "reasonable use" on over 600 miles of dirt county roads. Golf 18 holes near by.

Stay And Play Kayaks + Paddleboat

Stay and play while connecting with wildlife, with convenient access less than 1 mile off US HWY 1. One full-hookup 30/50 amp RV site is available on a gated, private 4-acre property with a 1.5-acre pond. Guests with any size RV can enjoy free use of sit-on-top fishing kayaks and a paddleboat on the pond. Take a walk around the pond or start a cozy campfire for s’mores.

Children will have a blast with unlimited use of kayaks, boats, bicycles, a swingset, slackline, basketball hoop, trampoline, fishing gear, bocce ball, soccer, and much more.

A private apartment is also available for rent on the property.

We offer primitive camping and boondocking on a farm setting.  We have fire pits, porta johns. Out door kitchen.

We have also added a 23ft RV for those who like a little more comfort.  The rate for it is $45. Per night. 

Generators are allowed.   Out door shower and electric.  Hamburg State Park is close by. You can bring your horse and pets.  Nice quiet location to relax and enjoy nature. Working on improving the grounds and sites. Come on out and feel welcome.

Canoochee River Rentals

Michael and Kimberly Duke bought a small cabin on the Canoochee River to enjoy as a family.
 They decided to list it on a vacation rental site.
 As this property was in full demand, another property became available to buy.
As interest began to increase, the family decided open up the options for their visitors.
 At this current date, they have four  cabins and a yurt, as well as, tent sites.  We are excited about the yurt that was completed in August 2019. They are looking forward having another cabin in the near future.
