They decided to list it on a vacation rental site.
As this property was in full demand, another property became available to buy.
As interest began to increase, the family decided open up the options for their visitors.
At this current date, they have four cabins and a yurt, as well as, tent sites. We are excited about the yurt that was completed in August 2019. They are looking forward having another cabin in the near future.

My cousin loved to fish and purchased 100 acres of land here 50 years ago. I wound up with this part of the property which is now surrounded by Big Hammock wildlife management area. For the past 47 years I’ve gone here to enjoy the river. The Ohoopee river splits here on the opposite bank and forms a 100 acre island before flowing into the nearby Altamaha river. Usually the river flow slows and kayaking around the island is pretty easy. There is a lot of wildlife to see here with white tail deer, turkey, waterfowl, beavers, otters, feral hogs and predators. The island is a favorite roost for every species of birds. During dry periods, the Ohoopee river water gets very clear with visibility greater than 6’ at times.

Dayna was a helpful host. It was a great spot to stop and spend the night as I was traveling farther north. The restroom was clean and the campground was quiet. There were beautiful wisteria that cave a great scent to the campground.

We stopped here on our way to Florida and it was amazing!!! Dana came down to greet us and showed us where the bathroom and water spigot were, and since we were the only people staying that night she showed us the best site! You can use her kayaks and go out on the lake or swim as well which we didn’t get a chance to do but that is an amazing bonus. She also had a huge pile of firewood to use we barely made a dent!! Highly recommend, beautiful property with the sunset over the field and the sunrise over the lake.

That place is in a beautiful and remote area, far from highways, close to water (swimmin possible). Hosts (Dana and her husband) are very nice and welcoming people, trying to please guests to their best. I used firepit to prepare my dinner and observe sky as there is a lot of open unobstructed area.

I loved tent camping here! Me, a buddy, and my doggo camped under the trees here for 2 nights. The place is great and well taken care of and the host Lorine was a dream Super Host! She let us use her spring water to top off our containers, sprayed the grounds with anti-bug spray, and checked on us occasionally to make sure we needed anything while also giving us a tour of her grounds! Loved sharing stories with you Lorine! Will definitely be back here again.

I think the yurt was absolutely great for a glamping trip. It had all the amenities you could want and even extra. I will say that it was a little difficult to get to but Kim's instructions work extremely helpful. I do suggest that you use a truck or a Jeep not that a car can't get down there but it's just easier. I think it would be really even much better once some of the debris from all the flooding and hurricanes is taking care of so that you can enjoy kayaking down the river unblocked but there is much woods to explore and it's perfect getaway to be with nature.

Definitely a little confusing at first but was told they were still recovering from the hurricane. Even if it was confusing, it was perfect. Good views, active fish, going out on the lake/pond. Definitely going to come back if I'm back in the area. Would mark the campsites if it was me. If they were marked it would definitely help others.

This was a great place to stop overnight. Lori was a great host, she even built a fire before I arrived and gave me a stack of firewood. My dog loved running around on the land, and there was plenty of privacy. 10000% recommend!!!

Perfect riverside oasis!! Easy access boat ramp for kayaks or canoes. Tons of space and trails to roam in the adjacent wildlife management area. Definitely plan to return!!!
Only a few people wandered down the trail on side by sides, but waved and left once they realized we were camping.
