We're bread baking, pasta making, timber milling, woodworking, clay-forming and metal pounding. The goal is to evolve into a small world of self-reliance and harmony with nature.
Through good design, our goal is to show just how "normal" slow, simple living can feel. We all have personal priorities, and those will vary greatly. But within that, we can all include ways of being respectfully mindful to the earth and to our neighbors.
Visiting with us, we sure hope our guests don't expect to find a corporate approach to life here, that they can appreciate our perspectives and some of our old-fashioned ways. Our presentation at Heirloom Hamlet has been purposefully designed to be a refreshing hideaway from the norm. You can imagine, it has been a ton of work, sacrifice and expense to create a very special camp atmosphere. We knew our property was a special place when we found it during our search when we decided to move our alpaca farm from FL to GA. We have raised alpaca for last 17 years. They are a fiber producing animal (similar to sheep) as well as just a beautiful animal, have great personalities and it is amazing to watch the herd dynamics. We have 2 very spoiled donkeys (sister and brother-gelded) - have had them for about 18 years. We are committed to provide the best care possible for our animals and love to educate people about alpacas (and donkeys). There is a large covered deck overlooking the alpaca pastures - come hang out with them. We have a farm store onsite with various items for sale made out of the alpaca fiber (socks, scarves, sweaters, hats, plushies, etc). As part of your stay, we provide a short alpaca farm tour!
There is a 2 acre pond on our property which is adjacent to the campsite area separated by a fence. The campsite area is located away from our main house and the alpaca barn. The location is within a 2 to 3-minute walk of several restaurants, shops, and grocery stores. Daffin Park, home of the popular Savannah Bananas baseball team, and other attractions are within a 4-minute walk.

Hi, I'm Curt. My wife Ani, son Fitch, and I are your average, everyday nonconformists who have been running an experiment. Years ago we left our Miami handcrafted furniture business to pursue this new goal. We set out to build an inspiring experience in simple, eco-friendly living that would find a harmony between the helpful aspects of the modern world and the good parts of the old, that maybe society should have held tight to. We wanted to play with this idea...while keeping it classy ;-)
At Heirloom Hamlet, you will see us designing unique, functional cottages, using solar energy, composting organics, sewing and reaping, in a way that is fair to our environment. We're bread baking, pasta making, timber milling, woodworking, clay-forming and metal pounding. The goal is to evolve into a small world of self-reliance and harmony with nature.
Through good design, our goal is to show just how "normal" slow, simple living can feel. We all have personal priorities, and those will vary greatly. But within that, we can all include ways of being respectfully mindful to the earth and to our neighbors.
Visiting with us, we sure hope our guests don't expect to find a corporate approach to life here, that they can appreciate our perspectives and some of our old-fashioned ways. Our presentation at Heirloom Hamlet has been purposefully designed to be a refreshing hideaway from the norm. You can imagine, it has been a ton of work, sacrifice and expense to create a very special camp atmosphere. Any donation to show appreciation for its use, if even for a single night, is a valuable support to our efforts.
*** Special Note: Heirloom has one full-hookup site for medium sized setups, that we use for long term month-to-month stays. Heirloom is our home, so we are judicious in determining that the guests that stay there are a good match for us and them.

We knew our property was a special place when we found it during our search when we decided to move our alpaca farm from FL to GA. We have raised alpaca for last 17 years. They are a fiber producing animal (similar to sheep) as well as just a beautiful animal, have great personalities and it is amazing to watch the herd dynamics. We have 2 very spoiled donkeys (sister and brother-gelded) - have had them for about 18 years. We are committed to provide the best care possible for our animals and love to educate people about alpacas (and donkeys). There is a large covered deck overlooking the alpaca pastures - come hang out with them. We have a farm store onsite with various items for sale made out of the alpaca fiber (socks, scarves, sweaters, hats, plushies, etc). As part of your stay, we provide a short alpaca farm tour!
There is a 2 acre pond on our property which is adjacent to the campsite area separated by a fence. The campsite area is located away from our main house and the alpaca barn. A tropical adventure awaits in this unique themed experience—why stay somewhere boring? Our renovated 1960s-era travel trailers are fully furnished, making them an excellent retreat for a single traveler or a couple. Our newly constructed full restroom is now complete and ready for use.

The location is within a 2 to 3-minute walk of several restaurants, shops, and grocery stores. These include Aldi (2 min), Whole Foods (3 min), IHOP (2 min), Dave’s Hot Chicken (2 min), Target (5 min), Cava (3 min), Chase Bank (2 min), and Bank of America (6 min). Daffin Park, home of the popular Savannah Bananas baseball team, and other attractions are within a 4-minute walk.
We are also located near the seaside, only a 12-minute drive to Tybee Island, our local beach, and an 8-minute drive (or 12-minute bike ride) to the heart of Savannah's Historic District. The area is very bike-friendly. Thunderbolt, Georgia—Savannah's shrimp boat haven—is just a short hop away, including the Intracoastal Waterway, which is approximately 13 minutes via bicycle.
Amenities include a microwave, small refrigerator, external full toilet, interior standard toilet, coffee maker, hot shower, WiFi, and AC. The external toilet and shower rooms are heated during colder days. Two bicycles are also available for rental on-site.
Our space is designed for solo travelers and to accommodate those who may have allergies; therefore, we do not allow pets. It is very comfortable for singles and couples, but please note there is not enough space to accommodate families.

This place was the perfect spot to get away for a few days. We visited Statesboro and the George L. Smith state park, which were under 30 minutes away! The camp grounds were very well kept and clean. There was a nice sized pond and dog park. The host was very sweet and helpful. We definitely plan on returning.

We had a great experience and highly recommend camping here. Curt was very responsive and helpful, and he sent clear instructions before our arrival. We arrived after dark, and he personally came over to help us get oriented to the property and its amenities.
He has done an incredible job. Every detail is not only well executed but truly artistic. Curt clearly cares about the experience and goes above and beyond with his hospitality.
For context, I spend over 100 nights a year in my camper van and have stayed in many places, and this was one of the best experiences we’ve had.
