We now raise the wooly Mangalitsa pig and sell to the best chefs and restaurants. We sell our pork at the farm too! All of our campsites are next to running water except the two hilltop sites. Two porta-potties are on the farm and private porta-potties are available for rent. Groups of eight or more are required to rent a porta potty should you not bring your own toilet system with you. We do not allow the use of our small wooded areas as toilets. Please contact us in advance regarding paying for firewood ($7/5 pieces), dogs ($15 each), day vehicle visitors ($30), private farm tour ($15/person) and/or a private porta potty ($120). thank you! Fall in love with our secluded Off-Grid Cabin located in the Great Smoky Mountains. Wake up to the sounds of a babbling creek and beautiful mountain views, hike the Road to Nowhere, kayak the Little Tennesee River, cook hot dogs over an open fire, and then open the glass panel garage door and fall asleep under the most beautiful sky you will ever see. Rowdy Bear Highlights: • 12ft glass panel door that opens the cabin to nature • Queen Tempurpedic bed • Rain Captured Shower • Fire Pit The Space: The Rowdy Bear is an Off-Grid Cabin that is situated in the Great Smoky Mountains with easy access to both Bryson City and Franklin. The cabin itself was built using rough sawn wood acquired from a local sawmill. Many of the items used in the cabin came from local shops or antique stores. There is a 2000-watt Solar Generator in the cabin that can be used for lights, charging cell phones, and running the pump for the shower. The Solar Panels are enough to charge the Generator to 100% each day. Rainwater is used for showers. The gutter system on the cabin is used to catch rainwater. The downspout runs into a "First Flush Diverter", which allows any dust, dirt, or anything else that might land on the roof between the rainstorms to be diverted away from the water storage tank. The clean rainwater then fills the water storage tank. Be aware that Rainwater is fine for showers, but is not meant for drinking. Propane is connected to a space heater and the shower. The space heater is 17,000 BTUs, which is plenty for colder nights. The shower has an at-source water heater and can heat the water up to 120 degrees, which is more than enough for a hot shower. A porta potty is provided for bathroom purposes and is cleaned and restocked every Thursday. Pets are allowed! The following items are provided: 1. Linens 2. Towels 3. There is plenty of room for the fire pit, vehicles, animals, and any outdoor games you might want to bring (cornhole). Both Bryson City and Franklin are fairly close to the cabin. Bryson City is approximately 20 minutes away, while Franklin is approximately 30 minutes away. Both towns offer great little downtown areas that have shopping and restaurants. Don't be afraid to try the food trucks, they have some of the best food. Bryson City has many trails for hiking such as the Road to nowhere, Noland Divide Trail, Three Waterfalls Loop (FYI: There are three waterfalls on this trail), and Deep Creek Waterfall Loop. The fishing in Bryson City is also great and the guided trips are very reasonably priced. I would suggest going in the morning and doing a float trip. Franklin is bigger and a little more spread out than Bryson city, but there are a lot of neat little stores and restaurants. I personally like going to the Currahee Brewing Company. Currahee is right on the river and is set up to host live bands and it gets pretty lively in the late afternoons and evenings on the weekends. Other things to note One of the things you would want to bring is a 1 lb propane bottle for the Torch that is provided. Using the torch to start a fire is much easier than kindling. The solar generator has enough power to run the small coffee pot if you don't want to use the percolator. The generator also has enough power to run hair dryers. The main thing you want to keep in mind is anything that uses a heating element will drain the battery quickly. Lanterns are provided If needed. Overall, you should be good to go, but it is something to keep in mind.

Please use the map to stay on property. Green Haven is centrally located 20 minutes between Brevard and Hendersonville. DuPont State Forest is 25 minutes away and it includes hiking, mountain biking, and waterfalls. Boaters will find the French Broad River, Horseshoe Bend, river access less than 10 minutes. More mountain biking at Ride Kanuga and Ride Rock Creek downhill mountain bike park 15 minutes away. The 7 mile paved Ecusta Trail from Horseshoe to Hendersonville is open, several miles away. Nearby breweries include Mills River Brewery and Bold Rock Cidery 15 minutes away.

The cabin itself was built using rough sawn wood acquired from a local sawmill. Many of the items used in the cabin came from local shops or antique stores. There is a 2000-watt Solar Generator in the cabin that can be used for lights, charging cell phones, and running the pump for the shower. The Solar Panels are enough to charge the Generator to 100% each day. Rainwater is used for showers. The gutter system on the cabin is used to catch rainwater. The downspout runs into a "First Flush Diverter", which allows any dust, dirt, or anything else that might land on the roof between the rainstorms to be diverted away from the water storage tank. The clean rainwater then fills the water storage tank. Be aware that Rainwater is fine for showers, but is not meant for drinking. Propane is connected to a space heater and the shower. The space heater is 17,000 BTUs, which is plenty for colder nights. The shower has an at-source water heater and can heat the water up to 120 degrees, which is more than enough for a hot shower. Bryson City is approximately 20 minutes away, while Franklin is approximately 30 minutes away. Both towns offer great little downtown areas that have shopping and restaurants. Don't be afraid to try the food trucks, they have some of the best food. Bryson City has many trails for hiking such as the Road to nowhere, Noland Divide Trail, Three Waterfalls Loop (FYI: There are three waterfalls on this trail), and Deep Creek Waterfall Loop. The fishing in Bryson City is also great and the guided trips are very reasonably priced. I would suggest going in the morning and doing a float trip. Franklin is bigger and a little more spread out than Bryson city, but there are a lot of neat little stores and restaurants. I personally like going to the Currahee Brewing Company. Currahee is right on the river and is set up to host live bands and it gets pretty lively in the late afternoons and evenings on the weekends. Other things to note One of the things you would want to bring is a 1 lb propane bottle for the Torch that is provided. Using the torch to start a fire is much easier than kindling. The solar generator has enough power to run the small coffee pot if you don't want to use the percolator. The generator also has enough power to run hair dryers. The main thing you want to keep in mind is anything that uses a heating element will drain the battery quickly. Lanterns are provided If needed. Overall, you should be good to go, but it is something to keep in mind.

We will soon be adding Forest Bathing. The frogs eat most of the mosquitos and the fireflies will provide the nightly entertainment from May till August.

A seasonal spring (Oct-July) is available on the property and a small stream, Piney Branch, that runs year round, drink at own risk (see map). There are two marked hiking trails. Please use the map to stay on property. Green Haven is centrally located 20 minutes between Brevard and Hendersonville. DuPont State Forest is 25 minutes away and it includes hiking, mountain biking, and waterfalls. Boaters will find the French Broad River, Horseshoe Bend, river access less than 10 minutes. More mountain biking at Ride Kanuga and Ride Rock Creek downhill mountain bike park 15 minutes away. The 7 mile paved Ecusta Trail from Horseshoe to Hendersonville is open, several miles away. Nearby breweries include Mills River Brewery and Bold Rock Cidery 15 minutes away.

The Sites are situated far enough from each other to allow for privacy. Our land was originally where the Cherokee grew their medicine with Mt. Pisgah looking over us. Please be aware we are not completely cleared up after Hurricane Helene so we are limiting cars to 2 per site. There is parking about a mile away, or we can fit a 2 cars per site . If this is an issue please contact me to discuss. Also note we look a little different. The campsites are fine but the creek has changed its banks and the driving path moved a little. Please drive slowly on driveway and grounds. Drones are only allowed on our property and only in daylight hours and must be discussed with us prior. Our farm is Organic and we minimize the amount of chemicals used on it out of respect to the land. The creek has clean water, although we provide well water for the humans. Situated 20 minutes from Asheville and 2 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, we are close to civilization and far from the everyday hustle and bustle. This is a great place to unwind in nature. We will soon be adding Forest Bathing. The frogs eat most of the mosquitos and the fireflies will provide the nightly entertainment from May till August.

Nestled between evergreen-covered peaks in Etowah and in the shadows of Pisgah National Forest lies Green Haven. With mountain views, rustic and comfortable campsites, and abundant plants and animals to appreciate, Green Haven is a peaceful destination to get away from it all and enjoy spending time immersed in nature and mountain solitude. Wildlife abounds in the area. Deer and white squirrels are a common sight. Tall white pines, poplar, and rhododendron shade the campsites. Build a crackling fire in the fire pit from available pre-cut wood and existing dead wood around the campsites. Hike the property on the designated trails and discover rock outcroppings, long range mountain views, fern forests, and a variety of wild mushrooms seasonal. Families, individuals, and groups alike enjoy camping here! We have 3 very private campsites. "Chanterelle" campsite has a fire ring, picnic table, and accommodates 5 people. "Fern" has a fire ring, picnic table, and can accommodate 4 people. Both sites have access to a pit latrine. The third site, "Big Rock" is a group site located at the top of the property, offering mountaintop views. Must have V6 or 4WD to access. Big Rock has a fire ring, 2 picnic tables, and its own pit latrine. A seasonal spring (Oct-July) is available on the property and a small stream, Piney Branch, that runs year round, drink at own risk (see map). There are two marked hiking trails. Please use the map to stay on property. Green Haven is centrally located 20 minutes between Brevard and Hendersonville. DuPont State Forest is 25 minutes away and it includes hiking, mountain biking, and waterfalls. Boaters will find the French Broad River, Horseshoe Bend, river access less than 10 minutes. More mountain biking at Ride Kanuga and Ride Rock Creek downhill mountain bike park 15 minutes away. The 7 mile paved Ecusta Trail from Horseshoe to Hendersonville is open, several miles away. Nearby breweries include Mills River Brewery and Bold Rock Cidery 15 minutes away.

This is a stunning, single remote camper/RV site with water, electric and septic hook-ups, a hot tub, outdoor shower and breath-taking views of Whiteside Mountain and Black Rock Mountain. Our 19 acres on Brushy Mountain is nestled away in the Ellicott Rock Wilderness Area of the Nantahala National Forest, the largest of NC's four National Forests with over 500,000 acres of pristine wilderness. The famous Iron Bridge over the headwaters of the Chattooga River is just a short drive away down Bull Pen Road. You will find some of the best trout fishing and hiking trails in all of North Carolina at your doorstep. This temperate rain forest is enjoyable in every season and is exceptional in its ecological diversity and abundance. If you are interested in hiking to beautiful waterfalls, fishing in native trout streams, bird watching or star gazing, this is the place for you! And if you need supplies from town, Cashiers is the closest and is about 25 minutes away and Highlands is about a 45 minute drive. Both have great restaurants and shops to check out. Our gated, gravel driveway is steep and a half mile long. You will need an all-wheel or 4 Wheel drive vehicle to get up the driveway without spinning. There is ample space to turn around to park, but due to the nature of our driveway we limit the length of RV's to no more than 20 feet. ...WOW. This was absolutely perfect for us, but may have TOO MUCH privacy for some folks. You are truly alone here. Incredible hardwood property. Beautiful hikes, fishing, and drives in the area. We made it up - no problem - with a 21' camper (25' true length) and a crew cab 2500, but this is about max length (2-3 steep, narrow gravel switchbacks -- 4x4 mandatory). Bring extra leveling blocks and 30' of sewer hose. For the right people with the right rig, this spot simply can't be beat. Thank you for sharing!

We are frequent campers and this was our first Hipcamp booking. It has ruined us for all future campsites because it set the bar so high! My wife and I spent Thanksgiving (3 nights) here. This was an amazing property. We stayed in the camping/sheltered site with a HOT TUB !!, amazing views, fire ring, power. Everything we needed for enjoyable cold weather camping. And that heated bath house!!! Unreal, the detail and amenities. Second to none. The on property hiking was so enjoyable. Take a walk to Day Dreamer’s rock. Such a magical experience. We are already trying to find time to bring back the rest of the family. I can not recommend this site enough. We are looking forward to future trips to Indian Creek.

Brian has created something so incredibly special here! We stayed at Diamondstone and he has added many special touches- the electric candles, little propane stove, wooden benches and handrails.... He is also INCREDIBLY responsive! We could not figure out how to work the padlock to get into the cabin (note: the numbers must be lined up in the GREEN section of the lock) but he answered right away even though it was 10pm (second note: there is no cell service there so you have to go a ways to find it). The cabin is not insulated and the stove does not put out much heat, so if you're coming in winter make sure you have good cold weather gear. My son set up his tent outside and as we both brought winter gear we had an wonderful, peaceful time reconnecting with nature and each other. Thank you Brian for being a wonderful host and creating such a special place.

I cannot recommend this campsite enough. The sound of the creek flowing right beside the site was beautiful and made the entire stay feel calm and peaceful. The campsite itself was spacious, giving my dogs plenty of room to roam off leash while still letting me keep a close eye on them. I also loved having the island trail just a few steps away for easy exploring. It was everything I needed for a simple, stress-free camping trip that still felt secluded and quiet. Perfect in every way. I hope to visit again soon!

The creek in front of the property is available for use. Great for soaking when the weather gets hot and it's shallow enough to just bring a folding chair. Fish? Yes, there are some trout in there. Flies work best. Got kids? Build a dam! Go for a creek walk! Great hiking at the end of Wesser Creek Road. There is a trail by the creek and a fire tower with great view about 4.5 miles up that trail. Water source (spring) is available at the top. Follow the blue blaze. The white blazes at the top tell you you're on the Appalachian Trail. Take a side hike to Maine! Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) is just down the road on 19/74. Rafting, zip lines, a ropes course, mountain biking... good food by the river, a bar, public restrooms... the works. They often have music by the river on the weekends. This land was once a hillside farm, after it was first logged early in the last century. They used to grow corn all over the hillside, then let the cows up there to graze and eat up the stalks. If you look closely, you might find some barbed wire in an old oak here and there.

Beautiful location with a view of Table Rock located in the Historic Oolenoy Valley. Our property is located in Northern Pickens Co. of South Carolina. Plenty of trails, boating, biking in the area or just sit under your awning and enjoy the wildlife. Important please read! There is not evening shade in July and August, However, there are shady spots very close to the camp site that you can enjoy. Where your camper sits the Sun goes down at the front of the camper. It is typically not an issue until mid-July and August. If you need additional details, please contact me. There are two homes near the camp site. The one behind the site is our home. Just me and my wife, currently no pets. The other home is a small white farmhouse that I currently rent to close friends. Chris and his wife and two well behaved kids. The kind of neighbors' people dream of! In five years of renting this site I have only had one couple that felt uncomfortable with the homes on our driveway.
