The plantation is rich in Civil War history and people still find arrowhead 's, Civil war buttons and other Civil War related items on the dirt roads where the soldiers marched through the plantation. It is a quiet, peaceful neighborhood where owners enjoy the country life.

Edenhope Farms is nestled on 6 acres and is a sanctuary for rescued and unique animals. We have a Zebu bull, which are the oldest recorded bovine in history, dating back to the Bible. We have goats and peacocks, chickens, a potbellied pig, rescued squirrels, and rescued ducks. Soon to come.... Sheep!!! My property used to be the disposal site for the CocaCola bottling Company. Go on a scavenger hunt and find old bottles. Relax around the fire pit and listen to owls, wild geese, bull frogs and the Quack Pack. Lounge on the spacious deck overlooking all the farm animals or take a dip in the swimming pool. At night grill on the BBQ or have an oyster roast. We do have an indoor toilet for you to use and an outdoor shower. Go for a walk through the woods, do yoga, head to Hunting Island beach which is 10 miles or drive 3 miles to historic downtown Beaufort. We are also close to Parris Island and many other historical sites. While here you can enjoy historical tours of Beaufort County’s earliest years of the Santa Helena colony in the mid 1600’s, the revolutionary war period, the pre-civil war and plantation time period and the antebellum, reconstruction history up to the Civil Rights visits of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the Historic Penn Center. The Lowcountry is great for water sports, kayaking, boating, jet skiing, sailing, hiking and canoeing. Each season offers an opportunity to participate in fishing, crabbing, shrimping or digging for oysters in local waters. Our area is a favorite of cyclist groups, the long, flat, rural, scenic, roads offer pleasant riding experiences for cyclist of all ability levels. There are bike lanes on many of the major roads. Other recreational activities in our area are geocaching, horseback riding, tennis, golf, hiking, beach volleyball, beachcombing, and birdwatching. There are a few special events throughout the year, Gullah Festival-May, Water Festival-July, Shrimp Festival-October, Beaufort Food Truck Festival-October, Soft Shell Crab Festival-April, Pat Conroy Festival-November, Heritage Days Festival-November, Night on the Town-December. There’s something for everyone. COME VISIT!!!

You will have 3 choice's to camp Next to a small pond in a shady place (we are cleaning up from some storms, it may not be ready for camping however you can still explore on foot and fish) An open grassy field next to the garden, this space has spickets to hook up for water and a regular outlet for electricity but not to run a camper. Under a large oak tree. You can drive right to this area. Very quiet and peaceful. There are 2 spots by the pond, 2 spots in the grassy area and 1 under the oak tree. Water is available for all at the open grassy areas.

Learn more about this land:The Sandcastle at Edenhope Farms is a beautiful glamping yurt on our 6-acre farm Lady’s Island South Carolina, less than 45 minutes from Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC. The Sandcastle offers a peaceful and inspiring respite from life in the Big City. We have goats, Zebu cattle, peacocks, ducks, a pig, chickens and a pet squirrel which are accessible to guests!Please visit our website to view our Local Guide.The spaceThe sandcastle is an incredible "Glamping" space and includes one queen bed with bedding. There is also a futon for additional guests.. There is a floor in the dome and both small screen windows and full panel windows for airflow and to keep out bugs. The sandcastle is a "glamping" tent. :-) Because it gets cold in the evenings, we have special insulation in the cooler months to keep you warm, along with duvet and blanket there is also a heater for winter and small ac for summer. The bathroom is private. It is VERY IMPORTANT that only toilet paper goes in the toilet. We have a super sensitive septic system. We have a small trashcan for any feminine products etc. You have your own parking spot and there is a short 30 foot trail to your yurt. Food and restaurants are very nearby in town and I provide a complete list of all my recommendations.For guests who stay in the Sandcastle, there is an outdoor shower, a pool, Also, a kitchenette and grill, fridge, sink, and personal fire pit are available for your use.We have an aquaponic pond with koi that feed our hydroponic vegetable garden and multiple bee hives that pollinate everything. We also have many fruit trees on the property. There is a pond for our ducks, and the intracoastal river that is just a walk down the street.Check out is no later than noon.Guests are encouraged to explore the 6 acre property, relax by the pond, on the deck or by the pool. Unfortunately you just can’t go behind the gates without me.There is access to a outdoor fire pit (wood is available for purchase), the outdoor shower and an outhouse.High-speed internet is provided free of charge. It only works closer to the main house, so you may have to sit outside to access it. Download those movies! There are two grocery stores within a couple of miles away.Our own eggs, honey and vegetables are available for purchase. Price per night does not include breakfast.Other things to noteIf you want to relax in a rural environment and experience a food-based, makers community then this is the place for you.The property has multiple dwellings and many shared spaces. We had a wonderful stay at Belinda and Tony’s campsite! The site itself was private, clean, and felt very safe, and had a convenient bathroom tent. Plenty of space, picnic table, and a fire pit. Before we departed we got the farm tour and fresh breakfast. The hosts were very welcoming, and it was cool to hear all history of the land. My favorite part was all the animals - so many farm birds, and a very friendly cat, Mimi. We’d definitely stay again if we’re ever in the area. Thank you!!

1 night at Friendly Fowl Farm

Directions were easy to follow and campsite was easy to find. Belinda's husband, Tony, stopped by as we were getting settled in to make sure we were all set. The mosquitoes left us alone after we got a fire started. We could here a rooster nearby in the morning, but otherwise very quiet and peaceful! We would definitely stay again and check out the area.

Very nice, clean campground. A lot to explore if you walk around the campground. The sites are really close together, but there were not many campers when I went due to weather. I met the “mayor”, he was kind enough to pass on some cooking and pans he no longer needed. I would stay again.

My husband and I enjoyed tent camping on Tony and Belinda's land. The experience was memorable. Driving directions were clear and easy to follow. Tony and Belinda were great hosts. We would strongly recommend the camping site to others.

Very nice and secluded piece of land. Friendly dogs that came by to say hello and play with my kids. The owner introduced himself and we had a great chat getting to know each other. No issues with deer flies as others have reported. I came during early June. I would definitely come back.

Weekend Trip to Friendly Fowl Farm

We only stayed a short while on Belinda’s property, but from what we saw, the place was perfect for our needs! Instructions to get there were very easy and simple to follow, and Belinda’s husband even showed us how to use the toilet at our campsite. The night was super peaceful and quiet with the occasional honk or quack from nearby fowl, which I personally loved! Would definitely stay again and recommend to others!

Site 4 has its own picnic table, fire pit and electricity.

Weekend Trip to EDENHOPE FARMS

If only there were room, I’d leave a review for every detail. Cynthia’s property is gorgeous and the camping site was isolated enough that we truly felt like we were camping in the woods which is exactly what we’d hoped for. Our Hostess was MORE than accommodating and even gave us an educational tour of Eden Farms. We saw baby ducks and chickens and even some baby peacocks! We saw the full grown peacocks too and they were magnificent. Yes, the rooster crows, and yes Elvis the peacock very proudly sang his tunes, but we were so happy just to enjoy the nature and the whole rest of the experience that hearing a few birds just made it feel that much more real. To top off the experience, we took home some eggs and honey fresh from the farm. It truly was magical. If you’re looking for a good, salt of the Earth experience, you HAVE to see this place! Also, if you’re interested in homesteading, Cynthia has SO many tips and tricks and the ingenuity of Eden Farms is 💯 worth learning about. I seriously cannot wait to visit again. Thank you Cynthia! ♥️

I loved tent camping here! Me, a buddy, and my doggo camped under the trees here for 2 nights. The place is great and well taken care of and the host Lorine was a dream Super Host! She let us use her spring water to top off our containers, sprayed the grounds with anti-bug spray, and checked on us occasionally to make sure we needed anything while also giving us a tour of her grounds! Loved sharing stories with you Lorine! Will definitely be back here again.

Catherine was very accommodating. The water, electricity and outdoor shower worked well. Our spot was flat. The dogs barked when we got there but were quiet throughout our stay. This property was secluded and beautiful with so many mossy trees and even a small creek with the tiniest baby alligator. Hey Wally! They warned us ahead of time about the deer and horseflies but we came prepared with ALL the sprays and they weren't nearly as bad as the spot we were at before. Tons of firewood was provided for $10/day and each spot had solar lights and citronella candles. You can tell they try to go the extra mile to make their guests comfortable.
