Natural wildlife include deer, wild turkeys, scorpions, and ticks. You're welcome to bring fluffy as we've never seen any predators, but there is a slight chance there could be some around. A lost animal on the mountain could be near impossible to find. We have 2 male cats. Unfortunately, the Earth does what she wants and weather forecasts can't be relied upon. We've had sunny days that have been forecasted to rain and un-predicted downpours. It can be raining at the top or the bottom of the mountain but not at the campsites in the middle.

This creek property was probably used by the Creek and then the Cherokee as a campsite because of the abundant water and wild life. Later is was farm land and in the 1920's had approximately fifty mules working the land. The Old barn and blacksmith shop are still here. In 1977 the government planned to put a four lane toll road through here but was stopped by the oil embargo which caused the right of way to be auctioned. We were able to buy 200 acres for a small amount of money and have been raising cattle and camping on it every since that time. As a Scout Master I have been using this site for camping for the past 15 years. Time to let others enjoy. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent or hammock in a grove of hardwood trees in a nice meadow on the banks of Lake Creek with old timey swimming hole. Weekend Trip to River Ranch @ Summerville, GA

Doni was an incredibly gracious and kind host who went above and beyond to be helpful! The property was perfect for our single night trip, and there seem to be several different sites available depending on what you’re looking for. The spot we selected had a fire ring, had enough room for several tents, and felt secluded even though it was just a 3 minute walk back to our vehicles. There is some road noise at night you can hear, but otherwise we had a wonderful time. We had some success fishing as well along the river, which was quite exciting. The paddle board was fun as well. Would love to come back with a larger group.

Weekend Trip to River Ranch @ Summerville, GA

We absolutely loved the relaxed and private nature of our stay. The sound of the water and the peaceful surroundings were everything we needed to unwind. We stayed under the RV cover in our campervan and extended tent due to the rain which completely kept us dry! The host checked in on is by text and were proactive in all their instructions and information. I highly recommend and plan to come back!

Perfect for rugged camping but with shelter & a shower! Feels secluded, but you still have cell service & civilization nearby in case you need anything. Also lots of historical sites nearby. Caught a few fish in the pond & enjoyed cooking over the fire. Cabin & bathroom were clean and owners were extremely nice! Would love to come back in summer so I can enjoy the flowers!

We loved tent camping at Little River Adventure Center. Access to a shower (during seasons where pipes won’t freeze) is something we aren’t used to, but warmly welcome! We feel like the sites offer a good amount of privacy especially if you get the first pick. We chose the very last site and it’s definitely the most secluded, and the easement allowed great stargazing. Great hiking access to DeSoto State Park and Little River Canyon. We also drove 45 minutes over to Cloudland Canyon which was another great park to hike.

I can’t say enough good things about my stay! The farm setting was absolutely serene — nestled along a river and within striking distance of the mountains. Every detail was so thoughtfully done, from the well-kept amenities to the little touches that made it feel both comfortable and connected to nature. What really stood out was the hospitality. The hosts were genuinely kind and welcoming, and they went out of their way to help me plan things to do in the area — from scenic spots to local hidden gems; they went out of their way to make my stay extra special. Between the peaceful surroundings, beautiful scenery, and top-notch amenities, this place was the perfect balance of comfort and adventure.
