Considered to be the purest, natural flowing river in the state, bring your fishing gear and kayaks. Listen to Pipwild Spring trickling over the mossy rock waterfall. The space
Our 10x12 foot canvas safari tent offers a cozy 120 sq ft of space which can accommodate a twin size mattress in addition to the provided queen bed.

Guest access
Folklore Forest is on 3 acres and has 270 feet of River Frontage at your disposal. Little River is considered to be the purest, natural flowing river in the state. Bring your fishing gear and kayaks. Sit on the rocks at the base of the waterfall under the rhododendrons and holly trees, and wade in the water in the warm months.
Park on the side of the road in front of the Cynefin sign. There are solar lights illuminating the path to the tent if you arrive after dark. There you will find a that you can use to bring your luggage down.
Other things to note
• The river will rise and fall depending on how much rain we are getting. It tends to be lower late summer to early fall. We cannot guarantee water levels.
• This is primitive off grid camping. There's no electricity or running water. We recommend bringing a portable battery pack to charge devices.
• Please be respectful of any wildlife (there are white tail deer, raccoons, weasels, harmless black snakes, mink, foxes, coyotes, many birds, and the extremely, and we do mean extremely, rare black bear), while fishing in the little river is allowed, hunting is prohibited.

We build from the heart with blue prints and Deer Camp was a thought that started on the back of a receipt and grew into a 12x12 cozy cabin. We have 13 acres and we share with that Deer Camp. Only enough land has been cleared for structures so it's all wooded and every structure was built by us and is unique and one of a kind.
We are all excited to offer an RV site to park a camper or pitch a tent if you want to bring a couple of friends. There is a separate charge for this. This site does offer electricity but water and the bathhouse are shared. This site is only offered to your group and there will never be campers in that space while you’re there.

Located adjacent to Fall Creek Falls State Park the Crown Jewel of the Tennessee State Park. We offer 15 primitive camping sites. We have one-of-a-kind rock tables for picnicking. My Papa "Red Wolf" seen a vision for a wooded land. He then built the Trading Post followed by the campground. Family owned and operated for over 20 years, enrolled with the Northeastern Alabama Cherokee Tribe.
Things to do around the area, Fall Creek Falls State Park. Fall Creek Falls, at 256 feet, is one of the highest waterfalls east of the Rockies. While at the park enjoy the cascades, gorges, waterfalls, hiking, fishing, golf, boating rental, bicycling, picnic, playgrounds, basketball court, softball field, snack bars and enjoy the nature.
We are less than 1 hour away from Rock Island State Park and Cumberland Mountain State Park.
Located in Van Buren County, within a 30-minute drive. The Fall Creek Mennonite community has a variety of small businesses (seasonal produce, garden center, greenhouse, fabric, metal shop, warehouse and general store) in their community.
Also, on the way to Fall Creek Mennonite community is Fall Creek Falls Riding Stables. They provide a guided horseback tour through the woods. It normally takes an hour.

Deer Camp was an absolutely perfect getaway for my husband and I. They had everything we could have thought we would need and many other sweet surprises available to us during our stay. Incredible hospitality, wonderful hosts, 10/10 perfect trip.

I was so pleased with my stay at this site! Tabitha was very responsive, and the campground was very clean and quiet. The little shelter at site 1 was so lovely, and was only about a 30 foot walk from a very clean porta potty! The rock bench and fire ring added a wonderful touch, and they provide a garbage can and offer to take the trash for you upon your departure. I am absolutely going to come back and stay here again.

We loved tent camping at Little River Adventure Center. Access to a shower (during seasons where pipes won’t freeze) is something we aren’t used to, but warmly welcome!
We feel like the sites offer a good amount of privacy especially if you get the first pick. We chose the very last site and it’s definitely the most secluded, and the easement allowed great stargazing.
Great hiking access to DeSoto State Park and Little River Canyon. We also drove 45 minutes over to Cloudland Canyon which was another great park to hike.

Weekend Trip to Glamping at Deer Camp Cabin
Great little spot for a night away with my 16 year old daughter. I’m a city person so loved that this wasn’t too remote but still private. They have everything you need to cook and relax. The bath house is nice and unique. Really enjoyed our stay and will come for longer next time.

The campground was clean and well-kept; fire area and table were very helpful for beginners. The area was such a wonderful experience for a first time camper! I would recommend this place for anyone who wants the full camp experience but with amenities. It is close to many popular falls such as Cummins Fall State Park and a convenience store down the windy road! The location is so pretty! Owner/host was responsive and accommodating, satisfactorily.

Great site, very nice well appointed pitch areas that are all individually secluded, you could choose from wooded or non wooded areas, there is also a cool nature trial that runs around the large property, if you like motorcycle trail riding you can actually rent 250cc trail bikes on site, these can be used for riding the extensive trails very close by to take you to some stunning scenic areas. You are also situated very close to a beautiful 11 mile scenic byway with several vista points. This area would be great all year round especially in the Autumn. Also a great little shower and bath house, with more showers being installed and planned. Giorgio and his Wife Tiffany are very kind and gracious hosts.

We loved our stay at Site 1. We enjoy a bit of privacy from other sites while camping and we were able to have that at Site 1. Also really appreciated the shelter during the rain. And host brought a huge pile of free firewood for us. Very big thank you for that!! We love our fires! Overall, a very nice stay. I would stay at site 1 again, but not the others because they are too close together for us. We did hear noise from the road, but we live in a city so wasn't bothersome for us and at nighttime/late night it’s quiet.
For ice/firewood- there is a gas station .5 miles away, but I recommend the general store in fall creek falls state park. Bigger wood bundles at a good price. And general store is stocked with tons of forgotten/needed items (gas station selection was limited).

Very convenient tent camping spot just outside of Fall Creek Falls State Park, South entrance. The site was very shaded, clean, had a cool rock table, a fire ring and a port-a-potty nearby. Site 5 was slightly sloped but still level enough for a medium sized tent. I booked last minute and was greatful to find an open spot. Good value, thanks.

Giorgio was waiting for me when I finally arrived after 10 pm. He showed us to the campsites and let us pick one out.
Slept great, made a pot of coffee at the restroom sink. Enjoyed a quiet morning, showered and headed on my way. Very close to Little River Canyon too.
