Miners Cabin: The miners cabin is located in between Dawsonville and Dahlonega Georgia in the heart of gold country. This unexpected gem has been our family’s oasis for the past 7 years and now, we are opening it up to share with others. Access to the cabin will be via our driveway and guests will not be allowed to drive directly to the cabin. There is a short 3 minute walk from parking access to the cabin. This walk is on an incline and those who may have difficulties walking up or down an incline or on uneven surfaces should consider this walk when planning your trip. Due to access limitations, we ask that you not bring more than two vehicles, We have additional parking at another property if needed but please let us know in advance. The Cabin sits on a grassy meadow a stones throw from cane branch stream. In the morning and afternoon you should expect to see or hear all types of wildlife. We have a family of raccoons that come around in the summer months and will eat just 5 foot from the porch. In the winter we have several deer that access the creekbed. The wildlife is fed often by our family and has been for the past seven years. Hummingbirds, woodpeckers, whippoorwills, crows, and even goldfish call this oasis home. At night our kids love to hunt for small crawfish in the creek with a flashlight. While bears are always something to watch for, we don’t typically see them on the property. A few miles of walking paths have been meticulously cared for and created by my father Mike. The mossy stone paths look like something out of a story book in the spring. Along the trails you will find benches and hammocks to lounge on and if you look close enough you may find some crystals that were placed for others to find from some of our many mineral digs over the years. There are two bridges that cross the stream along the paths and an old water wheel from way back that was used in the gold mining process in the creek. Vegetation on the property includes a variety of chantrell and coral mushrooms. If Mushrooming is your thing we have a good stash of chicken of the woods and if it’s fruiting you are welcome to pick it. Mountain laurels line the creek and bloom beautiful pink blossoms in the spring and summer. Cane creek branch is a quiet and beautiful stream. The water only gets about waist high at the deepest point making it perfect for kids or dogs to splash around in. Inside the cabin you will find a few gold pans if you would like to try your luck. We have found gold in the creek along with garnets and a few flashes of platinum. This property used to be the site for a long abandoned gold mine and an old metal water wheel still sits on the creek bank. The water wheel is locked but will still turn and at over 8 ft high it is a sight to see in itself. You will find a few small fish but nothing to shake a pole at. The cabin itself is nothing fancy and we like to keep it that way. It is as primitive as you would expect from the title. Only one electrical outlet is currently in the cabin. There is no running water but there is a water basin for brushing your teeth and washing small items. The bathroom is behind the cabin in a separate facility. This outhouse is unlike anything you have seen and has all of the comforts of home. Sleeping arrangements include a king size bed on a solid frame and a small sofa. You are welcome to pitch a tent or hammock outside as well. In the winter the cabin gets cold, we will provide an electric heater but you should know that it may still get cold inside. The porch looks over the creek and makes a great spot for bird watching. Amenities include a charcoal grill and a fire pit for cooking. The fire pit has several stable adirondack chairs circling it. We have a throwing board on the property however you will need to rent the throwing items from us and sign a waiver. We also have a small swing by our goldfish pond just across the creek. Things to do near us. Kayaking and tubing are just 7 miles down the road. You can rent a kayak from us or from the outfitters. We have 4 sit on top kayaks for adults 2 for children under 100 lbs and several whitewater kayaks are available for rent if you have prior experience. We also will guide you down the river as an additional service. See our price list. Our local outfitter Chestatee River Adventures is typically 30.00 for each kayak and 10.00 for tubing. The trip is 6 miles and can take anywhere from 3-5 hours depending on the water level. Please note that the outfitter is only open during the spring and summer. Our family will take you out no matter the time of year. Fishing on the Chestatee, Etowah, or lake lanier are also great activities and all can be accessed with a short 10 minute drive. Lake Zwerner is a local fishing hot spot great for grabbing a kayak or canoe and spending the day on the water. Gold Mining: Dahlonega is the gold city! Only 15 minutes away you will find Consolidated Gold Mine – Underground Gold Mine Tours. Here you can do some gold and gem mining as part of the tour. The gold museum in scenic dahlonega is close by as well.If you are looking for something more my dad offers trips and will show you the basics or can take you out for an all day dredging experience. You keep whatever you find! Hiking: The area hikes include the start of the great Appalachian (Apple-atch-an) trail. This is amicalola state park a 25 minute drive from the property.

We have a 10-acre homestead and would like to share the beauty of the North Georgia Mountains with fellow campers. Please note: we are a farm and have roosters....sorry for the noise but we love our animals. :) We have a clean toilet house. It is located between campsites 3 and 4. Within a couple miles of our property there is mountain biking, hiking, lake access of swimming and boating. Bring your kayak to enjoy seeing Lake Nottely! We live on the property, and it is a working homestead. We have chickens (roosters too). We ask that you keep your dogs *at your camp site at all times* (we have had camper's dogs run through the field at us and scare us to pieces and we'd rather not experience that again! lol) Want to get a workout in? We have a gym on the property, Confidence Training and Fitness. If you would like to join a one-hour class, check out our extras for more details and how to sign up. We would love to workout with you! Enjoy the sounds of the creek and put your tent on level land. We have firepits at each camp site. Firewood is available for purchase, just send us a message. We can deliver to your campsite. We also have tables and chairs for rent. Need something else? Let us know, we want you to have the best, memorable stay ever! Just an FYI that cell service can be a little spotty, sorry about that! Gotta love mountain life! We hope you will choose our property and enjoy your stay!

We have owned this property since 2005. The pond is a favorite place of ours and we would love to share it with you!! We live just up the mountain are here for you via text if you need anything at all during your stay with us. The pond is in the middle of about a 4 acre area that is totally forested & makes a great place to get away from the madness of life & get into nature. Our street ends in a cul-de-sac, minimizing traffic in the area, but the spot is right along a street. You will be able to see & hear cars going by the site. On the other hand, it is also right along a deer path & just this morning I saw 2 does & a baby walking through the site. There is a resident hawk & a gaggle of turkeys that live in the area in addition to pileated woodpeckers & all sorts of other birds. Come check it out and please let us know if you have any questions. Learn more about this land: We would love to have you at the Pond at Dogwood Acres. Otherwise you can head towards Vogel State Park and find many more.  Head north on state road 66 heading out of Young Harris towards Warne, North Carolina. Travel almost 4 miles passing 339 and then make a right on Brasstown Lane. If you see mile marker 4 or get to Warne, you passed it. Once you turn onto Brasstown Lane it will be on the right side. Coming from North Carolina head south on 66 out of Warne and make a left onto Brasstown Lane. We are about 1 mile south of the North Carolina state line. We are somewhat in the middle of Blairsville (GA), Hiawassee (GA) and Hayeville (NC).  Not far from us is the John C. Please keep in mind that there are no refunds within 30 days of booking, so please be sure that you are OK with this work going on before booking. Please don't ask if you can shift booking due to rain. It doesn't work like this. Sorry. You are free to cancel, so calendar is clear. Then IF someone books it I will refund my share of this, but I can't refund Hipcamp's share, and there are no guarantees someone will book it. Please don't get mad at me for this. Read this before booking. If you anyone puts any more nails in my trees, you will be charged $100 per nail. What kind of person uses a Recreation Area and puts nails in a tree? Answer: The kind who doesn't mind paying $100 per nail. I hate to come across like this, but those doing this type of damage are ruining it for everyone else.... Be warned. If there is dangerous weather, flood watch, tornado, etc. I will be happy to refund the time we were under this watch.... PLEASE READ ALL THIS BEFORE BOOKING.....This is a recreation area, NOT A CAMPGROUND. You have access to 44 acres in the mountains of North Georgia, on Tallulah River. Trout fishing, camping in beautiful Rabun County. Lot's of outdoor activities in the area. Forest Service land, and more nearby. This is not a campground, but a private Recreation Area on 43.7 acres on Tallulah River, which we love to share. Yes, there is a house here an there along the border. People choose to camp in the easy to access area, instead of hiking out to more seclude places on the property. So if you have a problem with the house being there across from the "sweet spot" please just choose a different place to spot. I find it so funny people want to come to secluded and be able to DRIVE TO IT, with no other people around. It is mostly secluded, but people do live around here, and a few houses border this property. People have actually given us bad reviews because of this. Hike in and camp away if it bothers you that someone lives across the river. And yes, there are chickens, foxes, coyotes, bears. Yes there is a road. Yes, they cut the trees down along the road to build the new bridge. Yes I have planted trees, and it will be more private as these grow. All this being said, please read on... This is rural neighborhood in Persimmon Community, Georgia. There are neighbors. Act accordingly, the few who do not! We are a few miles from NC line, and about 20 or so from SC line, in the most Northeast corner of Georgia. We are blessed with mountains, water, and a great community. 43.7 acres access, 1,000 feet of Tallulah River frontage (actually, property line is down the middle of the river), there is a nice road to the place, and a field and Tallulah River...... You can drive into the field, have fun in the river, and camp, build a fire, do whatever you like in our space. If you don't like being close to the very nice neighbors across from the car accesable spot, the camp further up the field, or pack by foot up the mountain. We are NOT a campground. We have no fixed sites. The fire pits were made by campers, not by me (the owner.) People have actually complained to me that there are neighbors across the river. CAMP AWAY FROM THERE IF IT BOTHERS YOU. And yes, they have chickens, that will wake you at dawn... Yes, there is a road. Yes there is a field. No, there are no fixed campsites. We are not a campground. We leave you alone. We will try to answer questions, but I do not sit by the phone. This is just us sharing access to the land. We want to preserve this like this, for as long as we can. I genuinely want to share this place. But that being said, I would rather not interface with campers. I live in the middle of nowhere for a reason. I assume you want to visit the middle of nowhere to be left alone. This is what I will do. I do my best to keep this going, and open to being shared. That's my job. But I am not going to find you stuff to do, watch the calendar, or whatever. Just look up THINGS TO DO IN RABUN COUNTY. DON'T TRESPASS ON NEIGHBORS' LAND If people come on the land while you are here, THEY are trespassing. I try to keep it private, but there is the occasional interloper who wanders on. Just tell them you have it lease, it is private. I am sorry for this. People are, well.... PEOPLE.... There is 44 acres here. Over 1,000 feet of river frontage. There is great fishing here. Please respect the property lines. We love our neighbors, and they love us. We want to keep it this way. Be aware that the property if BELOW the bridge, all the way back to the old cabin. That next branch is the property line. I will try and provide a plat, or map so you will be aware of the lines. There is also plenty of public property in Rabun County. Rabun County is 65% US Forest Service land. If 44 private acres isn't enough, then check out some of the wonderful public places around here. Look in photos for plat of the property. You agree to not trespass. Also, property line is down the middle of the river. Please don't trespass across the river. For exact direction put this exact string into Google Maps: VFX6+M7 Clayton, Georgia We are also pet-friendly, so long as your animal is well behaved. And while we are at it, please do not do doughnuts in the hay field. Every young kid from Athens seems to want to tear up the hay field. Please don't! We expect it to be left mostly like it was. Thanks! There are 44 acres here on Tallulah River. Come camp wherever you want on here. That's it. Lot's of photos on here. Let's of people with 100 questions! Hopefully they are all answered here. Please, be aware it is just a piece of land in the mountains of North Georgia. Help us preserve it for your use! Enjoy it! Leave it like you found it! All happy! CANCELLATION POLICY Also please keep in mind that there are no last minute cancellations. I cannot re-book it after a certain point, so please make sure this is where you want to stay. If I have one more person come and say it is too isolated, or not isolated enough, or there is dirt, or whatever. Buyer be informed. We charge very little to share this gorgeous private land with you. We try to make this simple, friendly, and answer as best we can any questions you have. But just beware that there are NO REFUNDS unless more than 30 days before the booking dates. THE RIVER Tallulah River has great atmosphere, trout fishing, and more. But please be aware that when rain comes, the river can rise quickly. We try to be aware, but you need to stay aware. This is on a flood plain, so it does flood sometimes, and fast. BE AWARE and Stay safe. Our mission is to preserve this beautiful mountain land the way it is, and to share it with people who will enjoy, appreciate, and take care of it. FACILITIES We don't have regular facilities. But we do offer nice new camp toilet for $22. You are expected to either bring your own camp toilet, and bag your waste out, or you can buy a toilet bucket and some plastic bags, and cat litter. This is a brand new unopened toilet lid and a brand new 5 gallon bucket. Bring some cat litter, and some bags to line the bucket, and some Ziploc bags to put this in and seal. The cost of a bucket potty is $22 NO MORE KITTY TRENCHES. You are expected to remove your waste and put it in your trash each time you use it. This is for consideration of others. IF YOU LEAVE TRASH YOU WILL BE CHARGED $50 FOR CLEANUP. IF YOU LEAVE HUMAN WASTE, YOU WILL BE CHARGED $500 FOR CLEANUP.......... I am only saying this because as we get more experience, we learn what people are actually capable of. Most people are very good about everything. But there have been a few people who actually expected me to clean up their waste, and then they gave me a bad review, etc. I am a decent guy. I will share my million dollar property with you for $40 a night. I will leave you alone. But please.... PLEASE... don't expect me to clean up after you. Barnett Old Tobacco Farm

Our Old Tobacco Farm has been in the family for generations, hence "Barnett Road". Currently we just grow organic veggies in our high tunnel greenhouse and the old tobacco fields now are used for hay production and a safe haven for a large herd of deer. Learn more about this land: This site is gravel and level. It is in front of a babbling small creek. The site is private with robust wifi, water and 30 amp electric. The site is 40 feet in length but could probably work also for up to 50'. Slideouts are fine. There is a picnic table, gas grill, chairs and a firepit beside the site. We live on an 18 acre farm. We recently discovered the joy of traveling the US in an Airstream. When we came home after 6000+ miles, because some of our favorite sites were non-traditional ones, we decided to add a site on our farm. Enjoy the dark skies and quietness of the country. We are 10 minutes from downtown Murphy. There is only a small area of gravel which is the actual site. Everything else to get here is paved.

Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC and just a bit further is Murphy, NC.  34'58'45.1"N 83'52'49.7"W On a larger scale, we are right in the middle of and about 2 hours from Atlanta, Asheville and Chattanooga. And when I do have to clean up after you, please don't curse me, divert, give excuses. If you camp here you are expected to be decent, and treat me decently. This is only for that 1%... Thanks. THERE WILL BE NO MORE CAT HOLE TOILET USE.... YOU ARE EXPECTED TO BRING A CAMP TOILET, OR PURCHASE ONE.... IF YOU BOOK MY PROPERTY, YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS. PLEASE READ ALL THIS AGAIN BEFORE YOU BOOK. Other than that, please come enjoy! Thanks! For exact direction put this exact string into Google Maps:
