Weekend Trip to Lakeside RV Resort

Lakeview is a beautiful fully equipped camper site with the fire ring and pavilion. Both Debbie and Steve are wonderful hosts and their property and garden are pristinely manicured. The lake access is just a short walk away and perfect for fishing and our dogs to take a swim. We didn’t have any trouble with the directions to the location, the roadway leading to the camp is wide, however the hills required to speed up to pull the camper uphill. Once on the property the long back in access to the campsite required assistance from the host, since we are newbies with our camper. Just a thought… having corn hole available would have given us more outdoor activity options. We LOVED our get away!

We absolutely had a blast a loved frogs land and will definitely be returning many more times we ended up at upper site 2 it was amazing and total full disclosure we took two Harley Davidson motorcycles to the site no problems

We had a nice time camping on Gary's beautiful land! The sound of the stream was relaxing! It was perfect not having to set up a tent, especially when traveling with baby. And the breakfast is a must!

The hosts were amazing. What a beautifully maintained spot! We definitely enjoyed our time relaxing by the lake and venturing into Athens and surrounding towns. If you want a peaceful escape this is the place for you.

First family camping trip was a success! Location was easy to find and kids loved it. Felt very private for our kids to run around and enough distance between campsites to not worry about noise bothering others (at least I hope we didn't). Thanks again for everything!

This place was very nice and clean. We enjoyed the grounds and privacy. The staff (Josh) was very friendly and helpful. Easy to get in and out. Site was pretty level. 30 amp with water and sewer. Just a side note. You are not able to have guests. We were in town to visit family and friends so that created an issue for us. Kathleen allowed guests to with additional fee and a waiver signed. With the exception of the guest issue I would stay again.

1 night at Liberty Stables Private Escape

It was great, my daughter LOVED the horses and Willow, Wade and the barn cats!! Willow and Wade were adorable, they're such great leaners! My daughter didn't want to leave.

5 nights at Lakeside RV Resort

They have a very beautiful property and have setup a full hookup with a level platform, big firepit, and lovely pavilion with a chargrill gas/propane grill. Also have a dumpster on the property to throw away trash instead of carrying it all out with you. A little tight getting turned around and backed in, but no more than a couple back and forth moves and we were in good shape. Caught a crappie from the dock on the lake, and just enjoyed sitting out on the water. Weather wasn’t great for us the first couple days, but Steve had everything cleaned off looking great the morning after the storm passed. Very friendly hosts, and would definitely go back.

Weekend Trip to Brooks Lake, a piece of Heaven

We had a fantastic time at this campsite this past weekend! The location was absolutely gorgeous, with beautiful water that was perfect for fishing. There were plenty of fish to catch, which made for an enjoyable experience on the lake. Bill, the host, was incredibly kind and welcoming. He made it so easy for us to find our site and settle in, which really helped us start our stay on a high note. The only thing to note is that this place can get quite crowded on the weekends. There were a lot of people around playing music, so if you’re looking for a peaceful, quiet getaway, this might not be the best spot during peak times. We also had a run-in with some fire ants, which is to be expected when you’re in nature, but just a heads-up in case you’re allergic or sensitive to bites. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and despite the minor setbacks, we would absolutely recommend this campsite to others. It’s a great spot for fishing, and the hospitality from Bill really made it memorable!

Weekend Trip to Lizardsniffer

Our time was too short. We only stayed 1 night but it is really a great place. So great to be able to let our dogs (4) have a safe place to run around and work off energy. The paddock is a great asset to an RV site. The owner is very friendly and we could probably have talked for much longer. Clean, quiet and very relaxing. Cannot wait to go back. Oh and you can bring your horses as they have cottages with paddocks also!

2 nights at Lizardsniffer

We had an amazing time at the Lizardsniffer camp! A friend of mine and I stayed for some mommy and me time and our expectations were over exceeded. We got to experience one of the cabins which was very comfortable and luxurious as well as tent camping. We were happy with the tent site as it had everything we needed very close together. Although it was early in camping season our kids still enjoyed swimming in the lake and going out in the kayaks. The land is large and beautiful with plenty of space. We also enjoyed seeing the horses and donkey. Overall we were extremely satisfied with the trip and felt spoiled by Randy and his staff, how can you not with every toilet having a bidet. Thank you for a great time!

Nice big private site with full hookups! Kathy met us at the entrance and showed us right where to go!! We stayed 3 nights! Met some great folks there that spend several months at a time! Can’t wait to book our next trip back!!

1 night at NW GA Farm Stay

Terrific site - very friendly host. Tidy, quiet, and inviting. We stayed at the water/electric site with a 35’ class A RV. Easy enough to get into, didn’t need to level out. Clean water, 50amp hookup (no 30 amp, so bring an adapter if needed). Grounds were impeccably clean and tidy. Lots of animals, each in their own penned in area. The hosts invited us to go see them, which was fun for us and our child. Very family friendly spot. 10/10, would stay again.

It was a great spot to pull off for a nights stay, Bathrooms available including a shower for any Car Campers that book it! Close to the I-20. We didn’t meet any of the Animals that Call the Land home but my pup loved all the new smells.

Lizardsniffer is a working horse farm with a variety of rental cabins and RV slips. We DO allow tent camping. Each RV slip has water, septic, 50 amp service and Wifi. An Amenities Cabin is provided for use by all RV site guests. The cabin includes a full-sized washer/dryer, a full bathroom with bidet, and an oversized jacuzzi tub. Guests must sign-up for a 4-hour timeslot. The cabin is available for use between the hours of 8am-8pm. Many of our RV sites feature private fenced paddocks for people bringing their horses or dogs. Your Toccoa River Cove!

The Cove consists of 12 acres with a tributary stream and spring fed ponds less than a half mile from the Toccoa River. It was originally the water source for the surrounding properties prior to the city installing a water system. It is completely private and unspoiled nature, with about a mile of walking trails throughout. The Mountaintop is a 3 acre high elevation site bordering 140 acres of undisturbed woods and is also very close to the Toccoa River. Fantastic location yet very private for base camp to access the many activities in this area, or enjoy the Toccoa River. It is the only campground in Fannin County limited to only one group at a time. Each site includes 2 access points to the Toccoa River. The Gibbs Drive community river access lot has a charcoal grill, picnic table, boat launch, swimming rock and fire pit with chairs. The Toccoa River Forest community river access lot has a big boat ramp. The river is controlled flow and usually at low water from dawn to about 2 pm, ideal for fishing or swimming/wading/boulder bopping. The River release schedule is available online at the website TVA.gov. The River has swift current when the dam is opened for release, usually daily. This property is conveniently located in Mineral Bluff, Georgia 30559, just 4 miles off the 4-lane highway (Highway 515/76) and just a short drive to Blue Ridge, Georgia; Blairsville, Georgia; Murphy, North Carolina, McCaysville, Georgia and Copper Hill, Tennessee. It is a paved road drive all the way to the entrance. It is located just a few miles from the center of downtown Blue Ridge with art galleries, many restaurants, brew pubs, shopping, the Blue Ridge Brewing Company, Mercier Orchard, the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad, and more! The Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad runs most of the year from Blue Ridge to McCaysville, right along the Toccoa River. The campsites are equally close to downtown McCaysville, Ga. /Copper Hill, TN. Trout fishing, camping in beautiful Rabun County. Lot's of outdoor activities in the area. Forest Service land, and more nearby. This is not a campground, but a private Recreation Area on 43.7 acres on Tallulah River, which we love to share. Yes, there is a house here an there along the border. People choose to camp in the easy to access area, instead of hiking out to more seclude places on the property. So if you have a problem with the house being there across from the "sweet spot" please just choose a different place to spot. I find it so funny people want to come to secluded and be able to DRIVE TO IT, with no other people around. It is mostly secluded, but people do live around here, and a few houses border this property. People have actually given us bad reviews because of this. Hike in and camp away if it bothers you that someone lives across the river. And yes, there are chickens, foxes, coyotes, bears. Yes there is a road. Yes, they cut the trees down along the road to build the new bridge. Yes I have planted trees, and it will be more private as these grow. All this being said, please read on... This is rural neighborhood in Persimmon Community, Georgia. There are neighbors. Act accordingly, the few who do not! We are a few miles from NC line, and about 20 or so from SC line, in the most Northeast corner of Georgia. We are blessed with mountains, water, and a great community. 43.7 acres access, 1,000 feet of Tallulah River frontage (actually, property line is down the middle of the river), there is a nice road to the place, and a field and Tallulah River...... You can drive into the field, have fun in the river, and camp, build a fire, do whatever you like in our space. If you don't like being close to the very nice neighbors across from the car accesable spot, the camp further up the field, or pack by foot up the mountain. We are NOT a campground. We have no fixed sites. The fire pits were made by campers, not by me (the owner.) People have actually complained to me that there are neighbors across the river. CAMP AWAY FROM THERE IF IT BOTHERS YOU. And yes, they have chickens, that will wake you at dawn... Yes, there is a road. Yes there is a field. No, there are no fixed campsites. We are not a campground. We leave you alone. We will try to answer questions, but I do not sit by the phone. This is just us sharing access to the land. We want to preserve this like this, for as long as we can. I genuinely want to share this place. But that being said, I would rather not interface with campers. I live in the middle of nowhere for a reason. I assume you want to visit the middle of nowhere to be left alone. This is what I will do. I do my best to keep this going, and open to being shared. That's my job. But I am not going to find you stuff to do, watch the calendar, or whatever. Just look up THINGS TO DO IN RABUN COUNTY. DON'T TRESPASS ON NEIGHBORS' LAND If people come on the land while you are here, THEY are trespassing. I try to keep it private, but there is the occasional interloper who wanders on. Just tell them you have it lease, it is private. I am sorry for this. People are, well.... PEOPLE.... There is 44 acres here. Over 1,000 feet of river frontage. There is great fishing here. Please respect the property lines. We love our neighbors, and they love us. We want to keep it this way. Be aware that the property if BELOW the bridge, all the way back to the old cabin. That next branch is the property line. I will try and provide a plat, or map so you will be aware of the lines. There is also plenty of public property in Rabun County. Rabun County is 65% US Forest Service land. If 44 private acres isn't enough, then check out some of the wonderful public places around here. Look in photos for plat of the property. You agree to not trespass. Also, property line is down the middle of the river. Please don't trespass across the river. BE AWARE and Stay safe. Our mission is to preserve this beautiful mountain land the way it is, and to share it with people who will enjoy, appreciate, and take care of it. FACILITIES We don't have regular facilities. But we do offer nice new camp toilet for $22. You are expected to either bring your own camp toilet, and bag your waste out, or you can buy a toilet bucket and some plastic bags, and cat litter. This is a brand new unopened toilet lid and a brand new 5 gallon bucket. Bring some cat litter, and some bags to line the bucket, and some Ziploc bags to put this in and seal. The cost of a bucket potty is $22 NO MORE KITTY TRENCHES. You are expected to remove your waste and put it in your trash each time you use it. This is for consideration of others. IF YOU LEAVE TRASH YOU WILL BE CHARGED $50 FOR CLEANUP. IF YOU LEAVE HUMAN WASTE, YOU WILL BE CHARGED $500 FOR CLEANUP.......... I am only saying this because as we get more experience, we learn what people are actually capable of. Most people are very good about everything. But there have been a few people who actually expected me to clean up their waste, and then they gave me a bad review, etc. I am a decent guy. I will share my million dollar property with you for $40 a night. I will leave you alone. But please.... PLEASE... don't expect me to clean up after you. And when I do have to clean up after you, please don't curse me, divert, give excuses. If you camp here you are expected to be decent, and treat me decently. This is only for that 1%... Thanks.
