Here at our little homestead, surrounded by nature, come enjoy some time away in our clean & comfy vintage-style RV. Nestled between the edge of our field and our barn, you’ll be far enough away from our home to enjoy some privacy and quiet ( except for maybe some clucks from our chickens or baas from our two sheep nearby). Enjoy a cup of coffee as you watch the sunrise over the hill or roast a marshmallow or two. We are grateful to share the beauty of our land with you.

The Neature Preserve (formerly known as "Tabby's Trees") consists of 74 acres made up mostly of pine forest situated in the coastal plain. A creek runs along the western boundary of the property with an ephemeral (seasonal) wetland to the southwest. The overstory of the forest is dominated by loblolly and slash pine with a few longleaf pine sprinkled in, as well as turkey oak, live oak, laurel oak, and sweetgum. We have ~1.5 miles of trails that wind through a variety of ecosystems (trails can hiked or biked). The property has three primitive camping sites. Two of the sites are for tent camping only (where you would park your car along the hiking trail and then follow a separate path to get to the campsite), with one site that has enough space to park multiple cars or small camper right at the campsite. The Neature Preserve is all about restoring native habitat! Prescribed fire is used at The Preserve to safely and efficiently restore and maintain productive ecosystems and to support our native plant and animal species. Info about prescribed fire as well as other restoration practices and projects going on at The Neature Preserve can be found below. View more photos and learn more about the wildlife and plants that inhabit The Preserve as well as the habitat management plan on the "The Neature Preserve" Facebook page. Prescribed Fire: - The interior of the South Loop was burned for the first time (in recent history) on February 14, 2024 and again on April 17, 2025. - The interior of the North Loop, along with the similarly sized unit just east of the North Loop, was last burned April 11, 2023 Timber Management: - Future plans include a timber thinning to reduce canopy density, clear cutting some sections to be replanted in longleaf pine. Wetland/Bog Restoration: - Currently in progress: 1) Canopy and midstory reduction (cut, pile, and burn) to support native, understory species 2) Planting rare species, such as pitcher plants, to help improve their population size and genetic diversity

We have a lovely 1+ acre pond in front of the main house, which is fully stocked with Brim, Channel Catfish and Largemouth Bass. This pond has a wonderful ecosystem and is home to Kingfishers, wood ducks, Storks, herons, egrets, and is a place where a nesting pair of Bald Eagles come for water, and an occasional fish. We have an in-ground swimming pool, and a paddle boat to take out on the pond. Whether you are looking for a quiet weekend get away, or a chance to experience farm life on a small homestead, this place has a lot to offer. We offer a canning class, making artisan bread, and a hayride (tractor pulled) around the property. Breakfast and lunch or breakfast and Dinner can be included in the stay at an additional charge. We have 2 large horses that can be fed carrots, loved on, petted, and the possibility of some riding. Gathering eggs, feeding the hens and pigs, playing with Titan the farm mascot (our Great Dane dog), or just relaxing around the pool, or around a fire pit, there is always something happening on our little farm. The lady of the house has her Serv Safe certification for preparing and serving food and has been a home chef for parties and catering for several years. A list of farm and house rules are provided at check in. We look forward to seeing you soon!
