We opened to the public on Labor Day 2014. Most people come to stay either in our rental cottage or in their horse trailers/RVs with their horses to ride the awesome trails in the 20,000+ acre adjacent Croom Forest. However, because our ranch is so peaceful, many stay here without horses just to enjoy the peace and quiet. There are many opportunities to recreate in the area, including outstanding mountain and road biking, OHVing, hiking, golfing, and canoeing/kayaking. Many full-time and working RVers stay for extended periods. Note that our camping area is small and intimate, so you will be close to other campers. We have 5 30-amp hookups, and 2 50-amp hookups; if you need 50-amp service, please request it. Note that a minimum of a 2-night stay will typically be required on weekends, especially during our busy season. WiFi is available, but we call it "Country WiFi" since it sometimes can be slow and may or may not be accessible from where you are parked; also, Verizon cell service in our area is terrible. If internet access is important to you, we suggest having your own hotspot or internet service (many working RVers have Starlink). Note that GPS can be very mean in our rural area; make sure your turn off Highway 50 is onto paved High Corner Road, which is 2 miles west of I-75 (if GPS tries to turn you down unpaved, dead-end roads, DO NOT LISTEN..you will get stuck!).

A boardwalk takes you along the Cotee River to our two open air pavilions with several places to sit and enjoy nature. Cell phone service is not a problem, as we are not remote (although it sort of feels like we are when you are here) - we are 5 min from downtown New Port Richey, 2 minutes from groceries, gas, restaurants. This beautiful slice of Old Florida is named for the Pithlachascotee River that bends along the back side of the property. Pithlo is the Creek word meaning canoe, and chaskita means to dig or chop out, together signifying "place where canoes are chopped or dug out". Seminoles of this area used canoes dug out from the great cypress trees found along Florida rivers. From the 1980s until 2014, this property was owned by the Cotee River Lions Club. They held a popular monthly pancake breakfast fundraiser in the large pavilion along the river. We purchased this 4.9 acres of land in late 2019. It is now where we live and have a woodworking shop. It has been a magical place for us, with no shortage of wildlife, rich jungle forest, a winding narrow river, and even the occasion river otter sighting. We are grateful to all the humans who have occupied this place over the centuries before us for keeping it as nature intended it. It is our intention to do our part to conserve and protect its natural beauty as long as possible. We hope you find it to be as restful and rejuvenating as we do.

Jessica was friendly and great with communication, both leading up to my stay and during my visit. There were lots of RVs on site, as well as a cozy circle for tents. Tent sites were conveniently located a short walk away from the pool, hot tub, and bathrooms. Thank you for your hospitality, Jessica!

We had such a wonderful stay at this campground! The grounds are absolutely beautiful and incredibly peaceful — the perfect place to unwind. The amenities were excellent and made everything so convenient and comfortable. Our dog loved it just as much as we did, which is always a huge plus! We will definitely be back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

I have stayed at Hilary's property a couple of times when visiting Weeki Wachee. It's a short drive to the rivers and a great tent camping spot just as advertised. She gave clear driving directions and instructions on checking in and was quickly responsive to any questions I had. The last time I visited I was able to bring my puppy and he had a blast playing at our camp site. Great dog friendly spot I will be returning to when I come back to see the rivers again! I love that she has a variety of site options as well if I ever decide I want to have a more elevated experience from tent camping such as glamping or staying in her cabin

We stayed at the Gypsy garden tent site. It was a nice spot. It had a fence for privacy, lots of room, fire pit and chairs. The nature walk was cool. Tried fishing in the pond but didn't catch anything. Altogether a great little spot for camping.

Otter Cove is a great place for a weekend get away. Easy to find and fairly secluded. Short dirt road leading in. The spot is on the back end of a large clearing with big oaks surounding and drop off on two sides. The site has a good mix of shade and sun. We were the only ones their and had complete privacy. You can hear some traffic, but its pretty far off. We would stay here again.

We used our tent as a visual block to create some privacy between us and the RV site next door (even though there wasn't anyone there)

Great spot! There’s firewood available for purchase, easily accessible bathroom, and a beautiful plot. Plenty to do around if you’re open to a short drive, but a nice spot to rest and relax if you’re staying in.
