This area took a direct hit from Hurricane Michael in 2018 and has worked hard at recovery, with so much rebuilding and growth over the last few years. Howard Creek is an eclectic little fishing community made up of a variety of residents from weekend fishers, summer or winter visitors and full time residents. This little golf cart community offers a small general store, a small community church, a volunteer fire department and two landings to put your boat in. Really enjoyed this spot. We were passing through for a few days and needed to be in between friends that were located in PCB and apalachicola. It’s walking distance from public beach, great food/ Dollar General/Ace Hardware near by and very quiet at night. I mirror what others have said about unevenness of Pad and sewer hookups being a bit high. Probably only challenging for those of us with smaller travel trailers. Having two water supply hookups, 50,30,20 amp electrical hookups and this awesome shed with RV accessories extras, a washing machine, chairs, table, hoses, etc. makes up for any of the small site inconveniences. Can’t wait to stay here in the spring/summer so we can really enjoy the area. We recommend this spot and the host was great, instructions were great and communication was timely. Thanks for a great stay!

Leila’s spot was great. We loved that it was only a block from the beach. The shed storage and laundry machine was helpful- especially because of the humidity and moisture over night. It was hard to get clothing dry without a dryer. (We used a laundromat in town) The black tank hook up was not threaded to secure a connection but it still worked. Red tide was high while we were there. Overall it was a beautiful spot just steps away from a beautiful dog friendly beach. We loved the location and so did our pets. Would recommend!

I've stayed here twice now and I will say under the new management it is a complete 180 from last time. The park is actually kept up with. They were having a farmers market when we showed up. It is super quiet and priced fair. Only issue is they double booked my spot but they had it taken care of within minutes.

We loved the private site, right on the water! The empty lots on either side provided real privacy. The amenities provided were very much appreciated, especially the outdoor shower, which help limit the amount of sand we and our pup brought into our motorhome. We had the beautiful beach practically to ourselves over our entire three nights. We will definitely be back again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Escape to the Cape RV! It is a beautiful site within feet of the gulf with water views from every window. The pet-friendly beach made it nice to enjoy the sunny days with our dog. It’s only a mile from the general store and 15-20 minutes from restaurants in Port St Joe. We will definitely be back!

However, nothing truly compares to parking just a few feet from the water, with 100 yards of pristine beach to yourself! This was our second stay at Escape to the Cape, and it will not be our last. A truly breathtaking location! If you have a class A, bring extensions for your electric and sewer and park facing the water. The view out the windshield is magnificent!

We had a wonderful time camping at Sugar Sands Beach. The set up is fairly private, it is in a backyard but there is a fence separating the campsite from the garage. It’s very quiet and the campsite faces the woods. We loved the outdoor shower and foot shower. Would be even better if someday Wayne decides to make it enclosed. But very useful for keeping the sand down. It was an easy 3 block walk to the beach and the beach access is right there. The beaches are beautiful and not crowded at all. It was a fantastic vacation. Wayne was very quick to respond with questions and advice for places to go in the areas.

Our family loved the proximity to the beach and to the Shipwreck Oyster Bar-walking distance to both. Having access to a washing machine was such a great bonus-saved us from having a bunch of dirty laundry to deal with when we got home from our trip. And having WiFi was great for our student that is enrolled in a summer class. Nice large site. Being a block off the main road and July 4th weekend, it was surprisingly quiet.

Site as described. Feels isolated due to facing the wooded area. Wayne has picnic table, shower, garbage can and full hookup. 3 blocks from beach access. You will want a cart if have much to carry. Wayne is easily reachable if you need anything. We love this area and would use the site again.

Corner paradise one block from the beach. Well maintained, concrete slab with full hook ups (30 & 50 Amp) plus WIFI (great for remote work). Short walk to the beach and a DG store. Make sure you visit the Ship Wreck restaurant, you wont be disappointed. Outdoor shower and washer are available. Easy access in and out. Motion sensor lights for convenience. Very nice location and will definitely stay there again.
