Welcome to serenity with the convenience of the city! We are not a commercial campground. We live on site in our home with our 2 dogs and 2 adorable mini ponies. Our three back-in camper sites are located behind our home under the shade of coconut and mango trees or by our barn, with a separate driveway and turnaround large enough for even the biggest fifth wheel trailers. The 50 amp RV outlets and city water hookups are at each site for convenience, with 30 amp adaptors available if needed. Gray water can be emptied on site, black water must be pumped (contact info for local service providers available). Inside the Oasis you’ll find comfortable king-size beds in all bedrooms. A master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a separate library/sitting room. The other two bedrooms are on the opposite side with easy access to a full bathroom with tub/shower.
The fourth bedroom is in the pool house, a separate building, with a comfy queen-sized bed, a kitchenette, a private sitting area with a large work desk, and a full bathroom.

Guest access
Guests receive a personal code that activates at their check-in time and deactivates at their check-out time. There are two smart locks - one on the entrance of the main house and one on the pool house.
The whole property is available for your use.El Portal is the smallest municipality in Miami-Dade County less than a mile from I95 and close to Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports. It’s s short drive to beaches and the attractions and shopping in downtown Miami.

We also believe the short-term rental industry should be a safe place for hosts and guests to transact.
That is why we have partnered with Superhog, a company that specializes in verifications and screening, conducting the same checks on all hosts that use their platform so that you can be confident that you are staying with a legitimate host.

The area is surrounded by palm trees which offer privacy and gorgeous views at anytime of day. It is quiet and peaceful and we had plenty of space.
Hagen is a fantastic host and very personable! It was our first time staying in a camper van and he stayed late to greet us. Throughout our stay, he made sure we had everything we needed and answered any questions we had which were a lot since we were complete beginners. With his guidance, we felt at ease and at home! He also has the cutest and sweetest dogs!! We would love to come back one day! :)

Hagen’s hipcamp is safe and in a great location to visit the Everglades. He’s highly communicative and friendly. There is a mix of short and long term campers on the property. Some spots are quite private while others are not. When Hagen or his family is around, there 3 dogs are roaming the property. They are very friendly pups. There is no trash and WiFi was out while I was there but he was planning to fix it. I’d recommend staying here if you’re visiting and the surrounding area, it’s good value compared to nearby parks.

Not only would I recommend this host I loved the location. It was close to south Miami but felt like the country. Close by farm stands and u pick strawberries was an added bonus. Completely fenced so my dog enjoyed a little off leash play. The other guests were lovely of the ones we met. Five out of five stars.

Hagan was a wonderful host! He is responsive, thoughtful, and kind. He worked with us to find space and a solution when we wanted to extend our stay. We loved camping next to the coconut palms, which provided a great view, shade, and privacy. The security gate was easy to work and made us feel extremely safe. We are definitely telling all of our friends to stay at Hagan’s!

I was warmly welcomed at George’s campground! I was not sure at first how I would fare with the campsite being tucked away from the car and the outhouse but it seems the body adapts quite quickly when you get clean air and peaceful quiet time at night. It is a touch of wild forest in the middle of a suburban desert. George has been taking a step by step process to bridge people back to nature. You are experiencing a snapshot of a vision in flux! He is highly communicative whatever your needs and a pleasure to meet! I would gladly return. It is great to be close to town with great food options as well.
