Use of a private vehicle is required. The property is on a natural 46000 acre lake that is connected to The Atlantic Ocean by The St Johns River. This location offers abundant wildlife refuge. This can be exciting, but dangerous. Please do not feed or approach the wildlife. You may see alligators, snakes, otters, manatees, as well as several species of fish and birds, including, but not limited to, american bald eagles, egret, heron, seagulls, bass, mullet, crappie, bluegill and more. Please simply use caution and do not attempt to disturb the animals or their environment.

Fish off the deck or from the yard, zip over to the springs in 10 minutes or head over to the St Johns river for a meal. The tiny house has a vegetable garden you are free to do with as you please as well as cornhole and games for your use under the 5th wheel. There is a camp store on site for snacks, bait, drinks, ice, fire wood etc. We are surrounded by conservation land and we have one of the highest populations of bald eagles. We also have friendly squirrels that love to tap on the door for nuts 🥜 in the morning. Turtles, small alligators and a very diverse bird population to name a few are always around.

The Blueberry Farm was everything I had hoped for and more. The camper I stayed in (The Gunnisack) was the perfect combination of well-appointed, cozy, and rustic, with all the amenities to make for a comfortable experience. An excellent mattress, an AC, all necessary cooking implements, firewood, a fire bowl, tiki torches... Cassandra truly thought of everything. The Gunnisack is tucked away in a little wooded bower, so it's perfect for anyone in search of peace and quiet. I recommend this spot to anyone looking for a rustic, homey getaway that's close to all the amazing nature that Central Florida has to offer (the manatees, gators, monkeys, and incredible birds of Ocala National Forest are just a short drive away).

Had an amazing stay at Hookie’s Hideaway Forest Camp! Cassandra was a fantastic host—super friendly and welcoming. The outdoor shower with hot water was a great touch, and the campsite itself was peaceful and well-maintained. It’s a fantastic spot to visit with kids, and we loved getting fresh eggs from the farm’s chickens. Beautiful, relaxing vibes all around, and the location is perfect—close to the springs. Highly recommend!

We will definitely be coming back to explore. Oh my goodness. My partner and I have been disheartened with the state of the world and working multiple jobs and moving and my daughter and I have been having health issues. So we just really needed some rest and mental peace. Kennedy was such a sweet awesome human and the space was everything anticipated. Nothing like a naked nap by the water ✌️ 🤤

We had an amazing time staying at little lulu! Cassandra was very attentive and greeted us upon arrival. We felt right at home. The RV was perfect for our weekend getaway. It was spacious enough for us and had all the amenities we needed. Little lulu is perfectly tucked away in the woods and we had enough privacy from the other campers but close enough to the outhouse. I would highly recommend staying here and if I’m ever in the area again I would happily stay here again.

Outstanding experience! We ended our two week FL road trip here and it was exactly what we needed. From the beautiful stars in the night sky to the sweetest cat - we had such a cozy, restorative time. Cassandra and Walt were super communicative, helpful, and so welcoming. My husband and i have birthdays within a couple weeks of each other and decided to celebrate them at Cristina’s property. The WiFi password hints at getting off your devices and we took that advice to heart. Naps, reading, walks/exploration, bike rides, wild animals, farm animals (including the friendliest kitty), sunsets, and sunrises was the prescription and the Waterfront Island Bungalow delivered. On top of that, Cristina and Ed were gracious and welcoming hosts. If you are looking to relax and unplug, this should be your destination. We’ll be back.

This was a phenomenal property. Absolutely perfect for our plans. We brought a ground of Young Men ages 14-17 here for a few days and they had such an incredible experience. There was something for everyone and I would highly recommend the property to anyone. I may be trying to organize another stay here specifically because of how great it was for our needs. Additionally, Declan was very responsive to our questions and requests. Top notch!

This was an outstanding experience. The hosts are kind, intentional, and organized while the cat, goats, ducks & chickens fill out an ensemble cast. It isn’t exactly an “old Florida” vibe but both Publix & Whole Foods are over an hour (plus a boat ride) away. Amaze your followers with the words “secluded cabin on a private island” but be prepared to bring your own mimosas and canapés.

Melissa and her family are a wonderful group. I wanted to get out of the city for a weekend. She graciously provided a tent, an enclosure and a sleeping bag for a very affordable rate. This kind family also had a fresh stock of firewood at the disposal of guests. The site is in a very remote area with a beautiful view of the night sky, and a coopful of chickens to amuse you during the day and night. Definitely would stay here again.

This was my first time experiencing an RV! My partner and I planned a quick Valentine's Day trip in Ocala to do some resetting and found this cozy little RV in the middle of this super cute farm. The area is so serene and peaceful. Even though the land has multiple RVs, I never felt we were close together with the other families. Everything felt private. Cassandra and her family were great hosts and helped us out initially when we got a little lost. It was a beautiful experience and I'd love to come back again one day. Thank you!

My family was enchanted by this cute country cabin! The kitchen had everything you could want for preparing a meal, the beds were comfy, and the claw foot tub was SO relaxing! Our kids loved gathering fresh eggs for breakfast in the mornings. Location was perfect for exploring many parks & trails in the area. We definitely recommend and hope to come back another weekend!

I was only there for one short night, but loved Cal the Calico Cat who kept me company when I walked around the farm and as I ate dinner. There were ingredients for s'mores and loads of farm fresh eggs and had I been there longer I would have enjoyed both. I stayed in Little Lulu the camper Trailer. It was neat and clean, and I found the bed comfortable. I definitely want to go back when I have more time to relax and just be there.

Located on 5 acres in the Ocala National Forest, Hookie's Hideaway is the perfect place to stay for easy access to all of nature's bounty and activities. This property is easily accessible, serene and peaceful. Campsites are in a beautiful grove of pine and sycamore trees. We are surrounded by forested camping areas and close enough to drive into town to pick up groceries or get a meal. We have a "you pick them" blueberry farm when in season. We are pet friendly! If you have a pet please add the pet Extra at checkout so you will be charged a $20 pet fee ($10 for the trailers). We are close to hiking, horse trails, lakes and springs. Bocce Ball and Croquet is available to play here anytime! We are only a short distance away from amazing horse riding trails and Florida's most popular natural springs. We live on the property and are available during normal business hours. We are free to ask questions and give suggestions for surrounding activities and dining options. We will interact as little or as much as you need. Birds singing in the morning and crickets at night ensure a restful getaway here. Rooterville is a nonprofit sanctuary, home to approx 100 rescued farm animals of all types, THEY make it an amazing place to visit! When you stay with us, you are welcome to explore the sanctuary and interact with the animals. The only place off limits is our cow pasture. But you can book a cow cuddle if you'd like to go in and interact with the cows, especially the Highland cow. It is a wonderful experience for the cow lovers. Come on out to the country for the experience of a lifetime interacting with sweet farm animals in luxury accommodations or bring your own RV or a tent and "rough" it in your choice of spots on our beautiful 20 acre property surrounded by lots of amazing wild creatures of all sorts and our friendly animal ambassadors. We have butterfly gardens, one with a bee hive, and we're surrounded by natural woodlands in a convenient yet private and peaceful setting. Maybe you'll spot a bald eagle getting a meal from our ponds! There's so much to see and enjoy right here at the sanctuary, we have over 100 rescued animals who can't wait to meet you and maybe bum a snack from you too. You are welcome to bring snacks to feed the animals or buy some from our gift shop. If you get bored, there is plenty to do nearby: Goldhead Park, a paved Bike Trail, Jacksonville, St Augustine, High Springs, Ocala and Gainesville are all within an hour's drive. Melrose is quaint and rural. We don't rush here. Except at feeding time! You'll get to experience that too if you get out early enough. (9AM) We can't wait to meet you! You'll come as a guest and leave as a friend! No smoking in our units, no pets due to our animals and our Anatolian guard dog who will love you but not a pooch they don't know. CAMPERS & RV's, NO ADMITTANCE TO THE SANCTUARY FOR BOOK-IN AFTER 10PM WITHOUT EXPRESS PERMISSION, please be considerate of the owner and others here trying to sleep! You are welcome to come and go as you please after you are here of course. Campers and RV's especially will need to be considerate of other guests on the property when setting up after dark. We have space in the front of the property to boondock for late campers' arrival and we'll get you into the sanctuary and set up in the AM if you get here late.
