This property has been in my family for decades. My Husband and I were married under the oaks and have had our share of campfires out there.
Down a hidden gravel drive with wetlands on either side you will find a completely fenced in field surrounded by pine, oak, and swamp maple trees. There are two ponds located on the property both stocked with bass, bluegill, and sunfish. The front pond is home to many natural Florida wildlife and is a great location to bird watch.
Located a few miles from Brooksville and the Suncoast Parkway, this quiet and peaceful setting is just 5 minutes from the parking area and trailhead for the Suncoast Trail and 10 miles from the famous Weeki Wachee Springs, where you can spend the day at the local park or float down the river with the manatees.
Withlacoochee State Park and other natural preserves with trail access and kayaking are only a short distance away, and Dames Cave, Homosassa Springs, and Chasawiska Springs are all within a ~20-minute drive as well. Spending a day at the beach is easy with plenty of options along the Nature Coast. We’re also less than an hour from Tampa and Clearwater and two hours from Orlando.
A perfect weekend get-away for anyone looking to “unplug,” Smokey Acres is also a great stop for those passing through the area. We are a close distance to many racing, livestock, boating and fishing events. We have no problem accommodating whatever you’re towing!
Whether you'd like a leisurely day on the river or an adventure in the Gulf, there are plenty of boating options nearby. Be sure to make it back to the property in time to enjoy amazing sunsets that bring peace and tranquility to your experience.

The Croom Recreational Area is also 3 miles away.

30amp plugin and UV filtered water hookup. Class C or smaller preferred. This site backs up to the trail so, periodically you see a cyclist buzz by. Adjacent to RV pad is a raised/clean tent camping area with additional room for tables and chairs. The whole space is about 50ft x 50ft
Campsite B
“The Bus” is a retired 1978 Greyhound Tourbus. The cab remains untouched with all the vintage radios and switches. As for the rest…it’s essentially a queen size sleeping studio. Equipped with 2 small under mount refrigerators, a large toaster, 2 burner stove and hot water. Definitely went far out with this one but, it also has fun lighting and 100’s of vinyl records and amazing sound system. The windows are very thick and filter the natural daylight, so reading or jumping online (yes there is Internet) is very relaxing.
Campsite C
“The Preserve” is for those that just have a small tent and minor gear. Bike touring is popular in our area and we are a base camp for mid-journey adventures. Affordable, safe and refreshing….and back gate to the trail.
Our Indoor/Outdoor restroom is fully enclosed and plumbed with hot water shower and flushing toilet. The concrete structure is for all camp guests.

Lakefront property is located in between Hawthorne and Interlachen out in the wooded countryside (decidedly rural) on a dead-end road as it turns to dirt -- usually very peaceful and quiet. Central location serves as a good base camp for day trips to the ocean beaches at either the Atlantic or the Gulf Coast, the manatees at various springs, or Ocala horse country. Variety of shops and restaurants are located in Gainesville to the west or Palatka to the east, both an easy drive on S.R. 20.
BOONDOCKING SITE: Must be self-contained and leave no trace. Accepting only one camping guest vehicle at a time. The homeowner property is fenced with drive-through wing gates, host will greet you upon arrival so you can choose your spot either in the shade or in the sun or somewhat in between as the sandy ground slopes gently to the private lake. Best for vans, SUVs, or those with car and tent. Please inquire regarding compact RVs -- due to overhanging branches of oak shade trees, and limited size of the 0..66 acre lot, cannot accommodate large RVs or travel trailers. Potable water available from the yard's garden hose, but cannot offer power, and there's no public restroom or dump station. Small bags of trash or two can go in our communal covered trash bin.
BUNKHOUSE OPTION: Charming dry-camp lakefront cottage (no running water) with basic electrical (cannot handle high-draw electrical devices like heaters or A/C units) has a van-life type camp toilet (bag #2, collect urine/#1; proper disposals supported by Host), jug of local spring water for drinking, bed options include a new twin mattress in upper sleeping loft and a new cot-width padded chaise lounge below (clean fitted bottom sheet and pillowcase provided per stay). Guests provide their own towels and toiletries. Some basic camping kitchen/household items provided.
Guests are welcome to use the homeowner Host's vintage rowboat, kayaks, communal firepit, and/or wooden dock. Or there's a small tire-rim firepit by the shorefront. Firewood bundle with kindling available for a small fee.
Not best property for traveling with pets, may be negotiable on a case-by-case basis, due to homeowner's dog (communicate directly with Host prior to booking). Guest pets would have to remain on tether at all times while on premises. Also, why care with gates must be practiced, such as securely latched and closed after going in or out, due to homeowner Host's dog.

This property has been in my family for decades. My Husband and I were married under the oaks and have had our share of campfires out there.
Down a hidden gravel drive with wetlands on either side you will find a completely fenced in field surrounded by pine, oak, and swamp maple trees. There are two ponds located on the property both stocked with bass, bluegill, and sunfish. The front pond is home to many natural Florida wildlife and is a great location to bird watch.
Located a few miles from Brooksville and the Suncoast Parkway, this quiet and peaceful setting is just 5 minutes from the parking area and trailhead for the Suncoast Trail and 10 miles from the famous Weeki Wachee Springs, where you can spend the day at the local park or float down the river with the manatees.
Withlacoochee State Park and other natural preserves with trail access and kayaking are only a short distance away, and Dames Cave, Homosassa Springs, and Chasawiska Springs are all within a ~20-minute drive as well. Spending a day at the beach is easy with plenty of options along the Nature Coast. We’re also less than an hour from Tampa and Clearwater and two hours from Orlando.
A perfect weekend get-away for anyone looking to “unplug,” Smokey Acres is also a great stop for those passing through the area. We are a close distance to many racing, livestock, boating and fishing events. We have no problem accommodating whatever you’re towing!
Whether you'd like a leisurely day on the river or an adventure in the Gulf, there are plenty of boating options nearby. Be sure to make it back to the property in time to enjoy amazing sunsets that bring peace and tranquility to your experience.

Campsite B
“The Bus” is a retired 1978 Greyhound Tourbus. The cab remains untouched with all the vintage radios and switches. As for the rest…it’s essentially a queen size sleeping studio. Equipped with 2 small under mount refrigerators, a large toaster, 2 burner stove and hot water. Definitely went far out with this one but, it also has fun lighting and 100’s of vinyl records and amazing sound system. The windows are very thick and filter the natural daylight, so reading or jumping online (yes there is Internet) is very relaxing.
Campsite C
“The Preserve” is for those that just have a small tent and minor gear. Bike touring is popular in our area and we are a base camp for mid-journey adventures. Affordable, safe and refreshing….and back gate to the trail.
Our Indoor/Outdoor restroom is fully enclosed and plumbed with hot water shower and flushing toilet. The concrete structure is for all camp guests.

Lakefront property is located in between Hawthorne and Interlachen out in the wooded countryside (decidedly rural) on a dead-end road as it turns to dirt -- usually very peaceful and quiet. Central location serves as a good base camp for day trips to the ocean beaches at either the Atlantic or the Gulf Coast, the manatees at various springs, or Ocala horse country. Variety of shops and restaurants are located in Gainesville to the west or Palatka to the east, both an easy drive on S.R. 20.
BOONDOCKING SITE: Must be self-contained and leave no trace. Accepting only one camping guest vehicle at a time. The homeowner property is fenced with drive-through wing gates, host will greet you upon arrival so you can choose your spot either in the shade or in the sun or somewhat in between as the sandy ground slopes gently to the private lake. Best for vans, SUVs, or those with car and tent. Please inquire regarding compact RVs -- due to overhanging branches of oak shade trees, and limited size of the 0..66 acre lot, cannot accommodate large RVs or travel trailers. Potable water available from the yard's garden hose, but cannot offer power, and there's no public restroom or dump station. Small bags of trash or two can go in our communal covered trash bin.
BUNKHOUSE OPTION: Charming dry-camp lakefront cottage (no running water) with basic electrical (cannot handle high-draw electrical devices like heaters or A/C units) has a van-life type camp toilet (bag #2, collect urine/#1; proper disposals supported by Host), jug of local spring water for drinking, bed options include a new twin mattress in upper sleeping loft and a new cot-width padded chaise lounge below (clean fitted bottom sheet and pillowcase provided per stay). Guests provide their own towels and toiletries. Some basic camping kitchen/household items provided.
Guests are welcome to use the homeowner Host's vintage rowboat, kayaks, communal firepit, and/or wooden dock. Or there's a small tire-rim firepit by the shorefront. Firewood bundle with kindling available for a small fee.
Not best property for traveling with pets, may be negotiable on a case-by-case basis, due to homeowner's dog (communicate directly with Host prior to booking). Guest pets would have to remain on tether at all times while on premises. Also, why care with gates must be practiced, such as securely latched and closed after going in or out, due to homeowner Host's dog.

The land is perfect for country cottage vibes.
Collecting fresh eggs from the Hens every morning was a bonus. The cottage my husband and I rented was adorable, quaint, immaculate, had All kinds of appliances fully equipped and decorated kitchen necessities, toiletries, nick nacks, firewood and the s’mores kit was awesome! I especially enjoyed the birthday welcome note /card and tokens for our stay! Cassandra and Walt came by to greet us for our stay and we’re wonderful hosts. We plan on renting each unit until we make it around the property! What I enjoyed about our stay is it’s close to our home but far enough to feel like a hidden gem . We had a little glamping, camping and rustic tranquil vibes. The outdoor shower was so peaceful after going for a walk /run near the wood trails. We enjoyed every moment of our stay.

2 nights at Crystal River Pirate's Den
Colleen greeted us on arrival and was a kind, accommodating host. We thoroughly enjoyed the quaint charm of the cabin. Even though it was freezing outside, she made sure we stayed cozy and comfortable with heaters and an electric blanket during our stay.

3 nights at The Olde salt Springs Camp
We loved the cabin. Very cute, very simple. The host was responsive and helpful. We used the fire pit, the space heaters, and all the cooking supplies. It was quiet and restful at night. The mattresses can be a bit tough if you have back issues, that’s really the only drawback.

Excellent host. Had firewood for us, ample creature comforts such as coffee pods, bottles of water and Pepsi’s. Very nice setup. Will come again as it’s so close to Rainbow Springs State Park. Enough privacy as well.

Weekend Trip to Serene Forested Blueberry Farm
Staying here was our favorite part of the trip! Great location, great eggs, awesome to see the chickens and we LOVED Calcifer! The friendliest cat, he hung out with us the entire time and really helped with us missing our cat back home! We had some eggs in the morning that we picked and washed ourselves! Would love to visit again!

Weekend Trip to Serene Forested Blueberry Farm
This my second time staying here and will definitely not be my last. My wife, two teenage children and two dogs loved every minute of our stay. The weather didn't cooperate on Sunday, cold and rainy, but the campers were clean and warm and we spent hours just playing card. The hospitality from our hosts was outstanding, they even delivered dry wood after the rain. We will all definitely come back.

I went with my mom and 9 year old and we all had such a sweet time in Little Lulu! The camper had absolutely everything we could need and more and Cassandra and her husband were so nice and attentive . My son loved hanging out with their chickens and sweet 3 cats and it was so peaceful:) We definitely plan on staying again !

I loved it there! So quiet and peaceful. The camp ground is nostalgic and small. The bathroom and shower could use some help (to be honest), but the running water by the cabin seems to be well-water, cold, and very fresh. A quick well-water shower behind the cabin was refreshing and lovely. Centrally located to lots of area hiking and things to do. Historic Brooksville was adorable and I highly recommend having brunch at the Lazy Maid Creperie, voted #1 restaurant in Brooksville. I would definitely come back to this camp ground and utilize the cabin again. I also liked the primitive camp sites and only a short walk from parking. My entire experience was two thumbs up.
