You will be surrounded by nature but centrally located to historical downtown St Augustine (9miles). We have over 2 acres of cleared land with a 1/2 acre natural wooded area with wetlands. You could possibly be visited by deer, wild turkeys and native birds. There is a retention pond on the property that attracts the wildlife, especially in the early mornings and evening. 5 miles Palatka to St Augustine Trail: Vermont Blvd Trailhead (bike/walking) 9 miles Bridge of Lions 13 miles St Augustine Amphitheater/Alligator Farm/Lighthouse 15 miles St Augustine Beach Pier 19 miles Crescent Beach 57 miles Daytona Beach 61 miles Jacksonville Pitch your tent anywhere on the property. We do have a gravel area for a small RV/Camper (limited to max of 27ft in length) parking with 50amp (can do a 30amp if you have an adapter) and 110 outlets located at the power pole, water and dumpsite (no hook-up allowed to septic). We are dog friendly but must be on a leash/e-collar or trained for recall, (wildlife on the property.) We only allow one booking at a time, so you will not have to share with others. However if you are caravanning with friends that have booked the Lilly RV site we will accommodate another RV (see extra RV site) You can also walk through the wooded acreage gather lilies and wildflowers... we would suggest wearing waterproof boots.

Plenty of stuff to do around - fishing, canoeing and swimming- within 10-15 minutes to the River, Beaches and the Ocean; tons of natural preserves, parks and historic places. Tennis court, pickle ball courts and a play ground is across the street. 20-30 min to Daytona Beach or historic St.Augustine. A little over an hour to Orlando with Disney, Universal and other parks, Jacksonville or Cape Canaveral. Whatever your interest is - you can find it around - many of restaurants, wine tasting, fresh food market 7 days a week, NASCAR, Auditorium with performances, water sports, bike week, movie theater, and many more. We have a water and electricity hook ups for 4 spots. Spaces for the boats are available also. No sewage disposal.There is a dog on the property. Really great location close to the beach and grocery stores and restaurants, yet it is still in a quiet place just off the beaten path. Roxie is a wonderful host who met us upon arrival and departure to make sure all was going well. She even gave us some amazing fresh eggs from her chickens that roam freely on the land. (Be prepared for a lot of rooster crowing EARLY in the mornings). Our campsite was level and had water and electric. It was not too close to the other campers who were there and we had plenty of privacy. Star gazing was awesome! Highly recommend."

INTRO RATES! For these new HipCamp listings provided by an experienced, highly rated Host on other lodgings platforms, and fellow van-life traveler. Lakefront property is located in between Hawthorne and Interlachen out in the wooded countryside (decidedly rural) on a dead-end road as it turns to dirt -- usually very peaceful and quiet. Central location serves as a good base camp for day trips to the ocean beaches at either the Atlantic or the Gulf Coast, the manatees at various springs, or Ocala horse country. Variety of shops and restaurants are located in Gainesville to the west or Palatka to the east, both an easy drive on S.R. 20. BOONDOCKING SITE: Must be self-contained and leave no trace. Accepting only one camping guest vehicle at a time. The homeowner property is fenced with drive-through wing gates, host will greet you upon arrival so you can choose your spot either in the shade or in the sun or somewhat in between as the sandy ground slopes gently to the private lake. Best for vans, SUVs, or those with car and tent. Please inquire regarding compact RVs -- due to overhanging branches of oak shade trees, and limited size of the 0..66 acre lot, cannot accommodate large RVs or travel trailers. Potable water available from the yard's garden hose, but cannot offer power, and there's no public restroom or dump station. Small bags of trash or two can go in our communal covered trash bin. BUNKHOUSE OPTION: Charming dry-camp lakefront cottage (no running water) with basic electrical (cannot handle high-draw electrical devices like heaters or A/C units) has a van-life type camp toilet (bag #2, collect urine/#1; proper disposals supported by Host), jug of local spring water for drinking, bed options include a new twin mattress in upper sleeping loft and a new cot-width padded chaise lounge below (clean fitted bottom sheet and pillowcase provided per stay). Guests provide their own towels and toiletries. Some basic camping kitchen/household items provided. Guests are welcome to use the homeowner Host's vintage rowboat, kayaks, communal firepit, and/or wooden dock. Or there's a small tire-rim firepit by the shorefront. Camp Declan is many things rolled into one. First, it is a private six-acre hardwood forest with 400’ of shoreline on a fresh-water, all-purpose lake. The air is clean and fresh and the fish, birds and Florida wildlife teem around you. Second, are the three buildings Cabin, Cabana and Bunkhouse. Each has a bathroom and the Cabin and Bunkhouse accommodate 18 overnight guests comfortably. The Cabana serves as outdoor bar/kitchen and hangout. We do have a gravel area for a small RV/Camper (limited to max of 27ft in length) parking with 50amp (can do a 30amp if you have an adapter) and 110 outlets located at the power pole, water and dumpsite (no hook-up allowed to septic). We are dog friendly but must be on a leash/e-collar or trained for recall, (wildlife on the property.) We only allow one booking at a time, so you will not have to share with others. However if you are caravanning with friends that have booked the Lilly RV site we will accommodate another RV (see extra RV site) You can also walk through the wooded acreage gather lilies and wildflowers... we would suggest wearing waterproof boots.

We have butterfly gardens and we're surrounded by natural woodlands in a convenient yet private and peaceful setting. Maybe you'll spot a bald eagle getting a meal from our ponds! You'll come as a guest and leave as a friend! No smoking in our units, no pets due to our animals and our Anatolian guard dogs who will love you but not a pooch they don't know.
