Our RV and Tent Campsites are located in a grassy field next to dense woods. Electric and water hookups are included in the RV/Camper sites, but not the Tent Site. All sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Our newly renovated restrooms on the property have toilets and one shower. A boardwalk takes you along the Cotee River to our two open air pavilions with several places to sit and enjoy nature. Cell phone service is not a problem, as we are not remote (although it sort of feels like we are when you are here) - we are 5 min from downtown New Port Richey, 2 minutes from groceries, gas, restaurants. This beautiful slice of Old Florida is named for the Pithlachascotee River that bends along the back side of the property. Pithlo is the Creek word meaning canoe, and chaskita means to dig or chop out, together signifying "place where canoes are chopped or dug out". Seminoles of this area used canoes dug out from the great cypress trees found along Florida rivers. From the 1980s until 2014, this property was owned by the Cotee River Lions Club. They held a popular monthly pancake breakfast fundraiser in the large pavilion along the river. We purchased this 4.9 acres of land in late 2019. It is now where we live and have a woodworking shop. It has been a magical place for us, with no shortage of wildlife, rich jungle forest, a winding narrow river, and even the occasion river otter sighting. We are grateful to all the humans who have occupied this place over the centuries before us for keeping it as nature intended it. Treasure Island NPR currently offers several RV/camper sites and a few vacation rental homes, a 'community' campsite, and dock (with kayaks available for use), all within just a few steps from each other. The RV/camper sites have power and water hookup available with a sewer dump nearby if needed. The campsites are along the northern most property, closest to the shared campground, grilling deck, and dock (where the kayaks are available for use). Tropical Suite (6135) offers a room for two, with a private balcony overlooking the bayou and access to the pool. The backyard boasts a large pool, grilling area with your choice of a green egg or gas grill, a hammock and porch swing. Hidden Treasure (4915) is a three bedroom home along the interior of the island, with a king bedroom, master bath, and two queen size bedrooms. The spacious yard provides for plenty of outdoor games, such as volleyball, badminton, and croquet. Northern Point (4924) is a three bedroom, one bathroom home with an enclosed glass lanai (sitting room) and a pool overlooking the water. One bedroom has a king bed, another a queen, and the last has two twin beds. Castaway on Treasure Island NPR (4848) is a one bedroom, one bathroom home with queen bed. A screened lanai offers a peaceful sitting area with a view of the water.

Highly Highly recommend this place! The host are friendly and welcoming! The bathrooms are very nice and clean with a hot shower available in one. The land is absolutely beautiful and natural Florida! An absolute hidden treasure in New Port Richey!

We used our tent as a visual block to create some privacy between us and the RV site next door (even though there wasn't anyone there)

We can’t say enough about this beautiful property on 7 acres. You feel enclosed in the woods with lots of privacy. Grounds were perfect. A little tricky backing in, but just take your time and you can manage it. It is priced under market. Making it affordable for most families and a great value. I hope Kate, the owner never sells this gem. It is a property of a lifetime. Springs are bubbling up all around the property. It is located at the end of one of the river’s many private tributaries offering tons of privacy with little boat traffic, I will never forget the experience at this camping site. I would love going back someday and staying longer. Just a note; there is no dock to tie a boat up. So you have to figure out another way to use your boat if you have one. There are public ramps within 5 miles. Swimming and kayaking is available on site.

Such a tranquil and well kept site. The team that meet you on arrival are super friendly. The sites are easy to navigate. The best part for us with kids, was the fire pit on the river, which they load with wood daily plus the social house, when the weather turns bad or the bugs come out we could go in and play pool, darts, games or watch football. Cannot say enough good things about this place!!

We loved our stay at Ellen’s yoga yurt! It was better than I even could have expected, and was such the perfect little spiritual retreat. We opted to add on the Kundalini Yoga and Sound Bath experiences and are SO happy that we did. These are the kind of experiences you usually have to travel out of the country for. I truly loved the design and the decorations, and especially all of the sound bowls and instruments I got to play with while I was there. The gong and the rain stick were a few of my favorites. The tree house was another super fun addition, and climbing up into it took me back to my childhood. It was truly magical and I can’t wait to come back again. Thank you, Ellen 🙏🏼🧘🏼‍♀️🕉️

Weekend Trip to Wilderness Shores Ranch Campground!

This place is absolutely fantastic. The campsites are so well maintained, the scenery is incredible & Paul is the best (make sure you get to hear one of his jokes after you check in). There are beautiful longhorns roaming around the campsites and goats in a pen you can go feed. Oh and the bathrooms? Impeccable. So clean and very nice. Truly cannot recommend this place enough. We will be back!!!
