My pup and I enjoyed our stay there. It was such an amazing experience to be sitting at my campsite and see a horse walk up to us. Then two others followed. Later, after our walk on the nature trail, seven donkeys came over to say Hi. Mike and Rob are very good hosts, quite welcoming. Their animals and the place are well cared for. The campsites are clean and well spaced out. I definitely recommend this place and would like to visit again.

We had a wonderful time at Lucky U Ranch, the beautiful land and peaceful nature were a great escape from the city life. Rob and Mike are wonderful hosts and were very helpful with anything we needed. The amenities are nice and everything you could need.

The Farmland is beautiful. We loved watching the sunrise over the pastors. The horses and chickens were fun to watch. The Host Mark was a great guy. Fun to talk to and very accommodating. It's a peaceful place to camp. I would recommend this place!

Weekend Trip to Shannon Trails bring your horses

First time using Hipcamp and first time taking out our pop up camper, and we were NOT disappointed! We were met at the gate and shown to our campsite and Mike helped us level our camper and showed us around. The bathroom area is SO cute and well equipped (showers were HOT and everything was provided which is an added bonus if you forget to bring anything! We enjoyed the property and our pups loved the trails through the woods. Highlight was having horses and donkeys come to our campsite to say hello, it was AMAZING. We will definitely go to the farm tour next time and leave the dogs behind! Was such a great first experience and we are already talking about coming back. Thanks so much Rob and Mike!!

Anne’s place was absolutely perfect! Restaurants, kayak launch, and rainbow Springs all only a few short minutes away! Anne’s outdoor rustic kitchen was stocked with everything you could ever need. And her outdoor bathroom/shower was AWESOME! So much better and cleaner than any state park bathroom facilities we’ve visited. Anne was such a pleasure to have awesome conversations with and she is more than accommodating and so friendly! We will absolutely return. I give her little Country Oasis a 10 out of 10!

2 nights at Lucky U Ranch

First and foremost Mike and Rob are some of the kindest, most helpful people I’ve met!. Upon arrival they checked in on us to see if we needed help with the RV, they offered a tour of their farm to us on Friday (normally only do it on Saturdays) because our grandson was going to be there. We stayed here a year ago and since then they’ve made some very nice up grades to include a both on with a changing table and propane grills at the sight. The only downside is we had only booked 2 nights and could have stayed much longer but for some reason God opted to not make me a millionaire so off to work I go 🤣

This was my first time camping and Rob and Mike made this experience so warm and welcoming. I was in the camper which came with everything that I needed to make me comfortable and cozy. I adore the amenities, the showers and restrooms were so clean and helpful and amazing. I just want to cry about how wonderful how the animals are so loved and taken care of. We had the experience of being with all of the animals, and the animals are so loved! The energy and kindness and patience from Rob and Mike was so special. My family was included into the activities and that made my heart melt. I am officially hooked on Lucky U Ranch and I want to bring my family and friends here again. My time here was so much fun! The HolmesStead

Privacy and country comforts, yet 3 miles from the I-75 exit. Grocery and restaurants nearby as well. There is a stable and 2 cross-fenced paddocks for grazing. An RV site with 30A power and water hookup. Tent sites nearby. A one room cabin with a queen bed is available with a separate full bathroom. Come visit our friendly donkey named Henry and Scottish Highland cow named Wallace. You will hear roosters, braying and some mooing early in the morning. The Withlacoochee Trail is a mile east at the end of the road. This is a biking, hiking and equestrian trail. Florida Classic Park is roughly 2 miles north on Lockhart. The Croom Recreational Area is also 3 miles away. If you are traveling with farm animals, we do have (2) 2-acre cross-fenced paddocks available for an additional fee. We also have a stable available, but that does have a concrete floor with mats. Please reach out to us directly in this regard.

Wilderness VP87

VP87 is a 1/10 acre pull through site with ~70 feet of concrete and room to park two vehicles. Pet friendly for dogs and cats (total of 2 pets only please). Water, sewer, and 30/50amp power on site. An 8X12 shed complete with full size modern WASHER and DRYER, residential refrigerator, a utility sink and even a real porcelain toilet! Just down the street from Ocala and Silver Springs, Wilderness is a lovely community of RV lot owners and long-term tenants (55 years and older community, {this does not apply to renters less than 30 days}), with a bath house, gym and sauna/steam room, game room, swimming pool and hot tub, big dog park, and a hiking trail... all nestled right on the shore of the beautiful and famous Ocklawaha River. Oh, and there is even a little candy shop and restaurant on premises that serves breakfast and lunch. Quick and easy shopping for typical requirements just down the road in Ocala or Silver Springs. Silver Springs State Park is less than 5 miles and offers glass bottom boat tours of the famous springs. If you have your own kayak/canoe you can paddle from there to Ray Wayside Park and return to your car at the state park with the shuttle service. Or you can pass Ray Wayside and paddle another .5 mile directly to Wilderness RV Resort (you'll just need a way back to retrieve your car) ... approximately 6 miles of beautiful clear water and Florida jungle with manatee, gators, birds, otters, and even monkeys! The entire trip is with the current! Like bicycling? The Cross Florida Greenway (Santos Trail System) is about 15 miles from Wilderness and offers 32 miles of paved path for road cyclist and over 50 miles of world class mountain bike trails for anyone from beginner to expert. E-Bikes are welcome. Ocala is the Horse Capital of the World! Florida Horse Park is in the Greenway about 20 miles and the World Equestrian Center is in Ocala, 15 miles. There are places to ride and farms with Clydesdales that you can visit as well.

Marci's Magical Lakefront Oasis

Beautiful spot overlooking Lake Weir in The Ocala National Forest. Watch the otters play and count the many different birds that make this lake their home. Treat yourself to incredible sunsets every night as the sun disappears into the water and enjoy the awesome reflection of the moon as it sets on the lake. (Check the moonrise/moonset tables to see if there is a visible moon during your intended stay - it really is an incredible sight). We have an amazing outdoor shower, with hot and cold running water, overlooking the lake. The extra large soaking bathtub is available for your use for $20 per stay if there are not other campers at the time due to us only having one bathroom available. Great for relaxing, bathing kids, or a very romantic evening. Canoe, stand up paddle board and kayak available for your use at no charge. You can paddle to nearby Gator Joe's which is an awesome spot on the lake for great food, drinks, and live music. Electric and water hookup (garden hose) both sites. RV 30 amp electric hookup, as well as regular 15 amp electric hookup on hilltop site. Many trees on the property makes it tricky for large vehicles to maneuver, therefor we have a limit of 25 feet including tow vehicle. Dockside site has 15 amp hookup. We do have an adapter to connect to 30 amp hookup. It is closer to the house and bathroom than site 2 and has more shade and easy access to the dock. Pontoon boat rentals are available down the road. Being on the lake we do have mosquitos but they are mostly an issue at dusk and dawn for about an hour but we are out in nature so insect encounters of all kinds are to be expected. If there is a nice breeze, which is often the case, you can enjoy the sunset from the rocker loveseat at the edge of our dock. We also have citronella torches available for rent. We also offer a large bundle of firewood for $10. Campers MUST check in by 10 pm. We recommend arriving during daylight whenever possible. It is important you understand that our property is not in the wilderness. We are NOT a commercial campground. We have a couple of acres in a residential area and there are homes near the campsite. That being said, you will have complete privacy at your campsites as the two sites are on opposite ends of the property and you will not see me at all other than when you check in, unless you desire to do so. Both campsites face the lake however, and you may see some fisherman out there from time to time, but I guarantee you will see much more wildlife than people. Each site has its own fire pit. Our guests love this place because of the lake, the incredible sunsets and moonsets over the lake, and all the incredible wildlife we have here, as you can see from the reviews. Well behaved pets are welcome off leash as long as they are supervised and don't bother other campers. They are not allowed on the porches. Please pick up any mess that is in the path of foot traffic. There is a $20 pet fee per pet per stay. Add it under extras. Pet sitting is available for an additional charge. I'm a professional photographer with 30 years of experience. Please inquire if you are interested in having your portrait made at this incredible location. We are 20 minutes from world famous Silver Springs, 20 minutes from Ocala Drive-In Movie Theater that usually shows great films for both kids and adults, and 20 minutes from the Santos Trailhead that offers world class biking and hiking paths. Unfortunately, I cannot do anything about the people that come here that have not read the description, expecting a wilderness campground and choose to leave a negative review based on that but everyone that has read the description has loved it here and many return.

However... some foundations still can be found in the woods not far away, if you know where to look. There are even cemeteries that remain, whispering the names of individuals and families. We opened to the public on Labor Day 2014. Most people come to stay either in our rental cottage or in their horse trailers/RVs with their horses to ride the awesome trails in the 20,000+ acre adjacent Croom Forest. However, because our ranch is so peaceful, many stay here without horses just to enjoy the peace and quiet. There are many opportunities to recreate in the area, including outstanding mountain and road biking, OHVing, hiking, golfing, and canoeing/kayaking. Many full-time and working RVers stay for extended periods. Note that our camping area is small and intimate, so you will be close to other campers. We have 5 30-amp hookups, and 2 50-amp hookups; if you need 50-amp service, please request it. Note that a minimum of a 2-night stay will typically be required on weekends, especially during our busy season. WiFi is available, but we call it "Country WiFi" since it sometimes can be slow and may or may not be accessible from where you are parked; also, Verizon cell service in our area is terrible. If internet access is important to you, we suggest having your own hotspot or internet service (many working RVers have Starlink). Note that GPS can be very mean in our rural area; make sure your turn off Highway 50 is onto paved High Corner Road, which is 2 miles west of I-75 (if GPS tries to turn you down unpaved, dead-end roads, DO NOT LISTEN..you will get stuck!).
