The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

Frank Page purchased the Suwannee River Rendezvous Resort & Campground in 2008 which included the original seven acres of the lower portion of the Rendezvous. At that time there were only a few buildings and the primitive campground area. Frank started cleaning the area and stabilizing all the buildings. In 2009 another 20 acres was purchased, which is now considered the upper area of the Rendezvous. In 2010, another seven acres were added to the property. Frank planned and constructed the Upper Rendezvous area which was completed in 2012 and added 136 RV sites as well as the dog park, barn and pigeon coop. The dog park has five sections, for both small and large dogs, with ample room to run. Suwannee River Rendezvous Resort & Campground Pool Frank began raising pigeons in 2012. The first pigeons purchased were homing pigeons, which started the Pigeon Races that are still a fun, family favorite event on Saturday afternoons. Frank also bought and started raising other pigeons, the Birmingham Roller. Birmingham Rollers are a very popular breed of domesticated pigeons that originated in Birmingham, England, where they were developed via selective breeding for their ability to do rapid backward somersaults while flying. A designated "Pristine Scenic Waterway" with very steep banks, the Suwannee is one of the few"wild" rivers left in the United States and can rise over 30 feet to flood stage almost overnight; yet due to its unique topography we can access it no matter how high or low the water. The Forest Service has bought up the surrounding lots, creating a 10 mile Conservation corridor supporting the National Scenic Florida Trail, it's clearly marked footpaths and natural attractions. To that end, we have left the old growth upland forest the way we found it. The campsite is a natural feature as is the Zen deck and canoe launch, a swale draining the ridge. The campsite is level, the lane to the river slopes gently dropping in elevation 20 feet over 1,000 in making it easy for able bodied guests to navigate their way to the white sugar sand beach. We want to share our retreat with those who are looking for a real wilderness experience in an exclusive private setting. A Waiver of Liability is required by all guests as the Wilderness is an inherently dangerous place. We only offer one accommodation per weekend with a maximum of 8 people, because we only have 1 toilet, so our guests can have the seclusion they desire and be free to enjoy the natural wonder of the woodland experience in any manner they choose.

Guests can choose to stay in a cozy tiny house cabin, a fully equipped camper, or bring their own RV for a quiet getaway surrounded by nature. Traveling with horses or pets is no problem. Each site is designed with animals in mind, including fully fenced dog yards and access to 2 one-eighth-acre fenced paddocks for horses. All types of pets are welcome, and we’ve created a space where both people and their animals can relax comfortably. Onsite water is available for animals’ basic needs, whether that’s a dog bowl or a horse trough. This is a great place for those looking to unplug. There are no electrical hookups for the RVs, offering a true back-to-basics experience in a quiet farm setting. The open space and paddock give horses room to stretch, and the peaceful surroundings are perfect for walks, outdoor time with your dog, or just enjoying nature. Guests can also rent out multiple sites if they’d like to gather with extended family or friends. It’s an ideal setting to connect and unwind together while still having your own space. At night, sit by the fire and take in the stars. Our location has Class 4 Bortle skies, making it a great spot for stargazing, telescopes, or astrophotography. Please note that horseback riding is not allowed on the property, but there are plenty of nearby trails to explore during the day. Grassy Springs is the perfect spot to relax with your animals and enjoy the simple rhythm of life on a working farm.

Our stay absolutely exceeded my expectations! What a beautiful, calming, and hospitable animal sanctuary/farm experience. Every Friday and Saturday night they light a fire and had marshmallows and sticks already sitting out. There were so many small touches that made the stay just extra special for me and my 6 year old daughter. 100% will stay again!

We loved staying in Campsite 2 by the River! The views were great and it was nice to be within walking distance of the bathhouse (very nice and clean) but still far enough away from the cabins and other campers to really feel the seclusion. We liked it so much we stayed on our way to South Florida and then stayed here again on our way back home!

We had a great stay at campsite 1. Very private and close to the river. Lots to do at Bowman's Landing without leaving the campground. The kids loved playing in the water and having bikes to ride around. So much great wildlife and natural beauty. Everyone was very friendly and made us feel right at home. We'd love to come back and stay longer!

Janet was so easy to work with! This spot has everything you need and Janet and Jerry made everything all ready with firewood and all! The river is a nice short walk and we really enjoyed fishing and playing in the water. We absolutely loved this spot, we felt so secluded and safe. Our young boys and dogs had so much fun running around. The horseshoes were so fun and the sleeping porch was amazing to have the extra sleeping space. Hope we can have the chance to stay longer and explore more of the beautiful Suwannee River next time!

The hosts were very accommodating and gracious. Tom gave us an incredible tour and history of the property. His animals are amazing. The site was very private and clean. The sink hole is fascinating, though we weren't comfortable swimming in it. Plan to bring a shovel and toilet plan as the one at the site needs repair. There is plenty of downed wood around you but bring a saw as much of it is too large to break. Be sure to visit Fanning Springs State Park in addition to the better known sites closer by. The swimming area is fabulous and manatees were present.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time camping here! It was very private and quiet. The views of the stars were amazing! This would be a perfect spot to watch a meteor shower. Tom gave us a tour of his property and let us feed some of his cute sheep and highland cows! Tom was a great host; he let us check out later because no one was camping behind us and was fun to talk to. We went to High Springs for dinner and coffee and that town is so cute! I was so impressed by the restaurant selection; I’m vegetarian and there were plenty of options for me. We especially enjoyed Colsie Coffee and Serendipity. The locals were extremely nice and we had great chats with many of them. We would definitely camp here again!

Tom and Judy were very hospitable and flexible, even when it came to making modifications in our party size. There were 9 of us and we had a great time at arrowhead sink. The sink itself was awesome, we spent a good portion of our time down there (bring some hiking shoes because it’s a steep decline to get into the sink and it’s a little wet and muddy). The location isn’t too far from a gas station and there is even an area with food trucks. Lots of fun!

We had an amazing time camping in the tree house! We are “young” empty nesters and this was a great adventure in figuring out what future adventures will look like! Trudy and Greg were so kind and super hospitable! The weather was perfect! We bought the farm fresh eggs and they had an electric griddle to cook em. We sat on the porch while it rained, reading a book with each other, sipping coffee and enjoying the beautiful of the land on the farm. My wife painted a painting in the garden to add to hundreds of others… it was cool to be a part of so many others that have been through. We pet the horses, fed the roosters, played fetch with the dogs. We drove about 15 minutes to Suwannee state park and hiked Balanced Rock Trail. Our time at Kokomo was sacred, and for us a pivotal point into the second half of life! I know it’s a source of income for them, but it felt like they were truly sharing their land and home with us. Such a great time!
