Yes, the weather has been a little colder than we like and we had snow during our recent cold snap. Our restaurants are warm and homemade soups are on the menu to warm the soul.
We offer three Amish built log cabins at our RV Campground. Each cabin has a front porch, one bedroom with queen size bed and a set of bunk beds in the living area. Two burner stove top, full size microwave and refrigerator. Full size bathroom with large walk-in shower. Fully furnished with towels and linens as well as dishes, cooking utensils and coffee pot. Smart TV with Dish Network. Wi-Fi is included. The Campground is fenced and gated and we are pet friendly. There is a laundry facility on site for the guests. There is a fire pit if you want to relax. In the summer we have a cowboy pool to cool off after a long day on the water.
Steinhatchee is located in Taylor County Florida along the Gulf of America. Inshore and offshore fishing is year-round. Scallop season is June 15 to Labor Day. More than 20 springs are located within 45 minutes of Steinhatchee. Too numerous to count are the Florida Wildlife Management areas that are accessible by car and allow for bird watching and animal siting of deer and wild boar. Steinhatchee River is a kayaking, fishing and paddle boarding experience. The local restaurants/Marinas are within five minutes of the campground. Live music is available at the restaurants.

We purchased our 3.39 acres two years ago and all that was on it was a RV and lots of pine trees, palmettos, woods and a small pond in the front of the property. Over those two years we have turned it into our little piece of heaven. We've added two more RV hookups which our son parked his camper on one. We built a fully furnished cook shed and on the back side of it we have an enclosed fish cleaning area. The cook shed also has an enclosed eating area. In addition, we build a full size bath house / laundry room for the convenience of our campers. We cleared out the back of our property and had a large fish pond dug and it is actually spring fed. We have stocked it with all kinds of fish. We have a dock that goes out to the pond and you can stand and feed the fish. If you like to fish you can catch and release. Ginnie Springs offers world class underwater cave diving -PADI license required. * Private and serene primitive camping area in a forested riverfront neighborhood with a great public boat ramp on the Santa a short walk away. The campsite is located on the back acre with cleared areas for tents and vehicles. Picnic tables and fire rings are provided. Spring well water access via hose at the campsite or at bathhouse with shower, sink and toilet.
* Birds especially love this area and the serenade from the treetops gets better each year with a wide variety of bird songs. Owls reside nearby and bats have also been known to fly in the sundowning sky! Boaters – Private boat ramp is 200 yards up the road on the Santa Fe, public boat ramps within 10 miles on the Santa Fe and Suwannee rivers.
Tubers – Tube the private section of the crystal-clear Ichetucknee river accessible only by the homeowners via our 3 waterfront parks. Both get-out parks are within walking distance to the campsite for your convenience.
Paddlers – Paddle the Santa Fe or Ichetucknee rivers from within the neighborhood, or if the time of year is right, venture up to the Ichetucknee State Park to paddle the head waters and north entrance. This is limited in season and numbers to keep the impact on the river to a minimum.
Swimmers – Swim the Santa Fe or Ichetucknee rivers from within the neighborhood via our 9 waterfront parks (6 Santa Fe, 3 Ichetucknee) or venture to either entrance of the Ichetucknee River State Park just a few miles away.
Nature lovers – Explore the unspoiled conservation areas within the neighborhood that can be hiked and explored. Setup a hammock and sit by the river and watch all your worries wash away, you may get to see the occasional manatee.
Whatever your passion, this campsite accommodates it with electric (50/30/15), water, picnic table, concrete firepit, clothesline and plenty of room to spread out. The neighborhood is golf-cart and UTV friendly and has lots of dirt roads to explore. * Birds especially love this area and the serenade from the treetops gets better each year with a wide variety of bird songs. Swimmers – Swim the Santa Fe or Ichetucknee rivers from within the neighborhood via our 9 waterfront parks (6 Santa Fe, 3 Ichetucknee) or venture to either entrance of the Ichetucknee River State Park just a few miles away.
Nature lovers – Explore the unspoiled conservation areas within the neighborhood that can be hiked and explored. Setup a hammock and sit by the river and watch all your worries wash away, you may get to see the occasional manatee.

This place was amazing! Very peaceful place, with tons to do. They had a coffee bar with a community fridge, and a grill area with tons of options to use. Also the restroom area was very clean and they provided heaters or fans in there. There is a sand pile for the kids with tonka trucks to play, 2 swings around the grounds, boats, and my favorite part was the bicycles to use!! There is only 2 tents sites, we stayed on #2 which I recommend for a perfect view of the river. Also the cabins were really cool, especially the two in the woods away from thr river if you want to be secluded. The hosts were very friendly, offering tons of advice on the area, even told us to go across the river fkr hiking the war grounds to hunt for artifacts which we had no idea was there. I cant wait to go back!!

Just returned from tent camping along the Sante Fe River in December. It was yet another absolutely wonderful experience. The crisp winter air, combined with water made for a peaceful and refreshing getaway. You've just gotta see the morning fog over the river. I went with a small group of friends and brought along our dog, who had the time of her life exploring the yard, playing fetch, and basking in the sun.
The Hipcamp location itself is well-maintained with tons of space, and a beautiful view on the water. Even though it was December, we stayed warm with a campfire, hot drinks, and plenty of layers. Great nighttime stargazing, too.
What really stood out, though, was our host. Michael is incredibly friendly and helpful. His hospitality truly enhanced the experience and made us feel welcomed and cared for.
I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a winter tent camping spot by the river.

Amazing camp site! My wife and I decided to spend our new years holiday here and had a great time. Perfect location for those wanting to enjoy the outdoors with the convenience of bathrooms and showers. Thank you, we will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our stay. The bathroom and kitchen were a huge plus, and the host was very attentive and helpful, responding very quickly whenever I had a question. The kids had a blast, and the area was quiet and peaceful.

Our stay at Frank’s campground was great! Check in was easy and the ground was level for setting up our tent. After we settled in, he came around to make sure we were all set for the night! We had to leave early in the morning for an activity we had booked and check out was easy.
