If your looking for the Taj Maha of tent camping in Miami... this is the spot. Honestly; I loved it here... when i left, i waivered staying a few more days.. it was relaxing, it was private for the most part, it was close by to amenities and i enjoyed the backround noise of either the speedway or the jets in the sky. The palm tree corner is most definitely the prettiest spot in the place, but trusting that other hip campers will follow the lead to 5 star each campsite. Its a cool place hot place with shade if you find the right spots. I would camp here again.. and again.. and again.. my dog loved it as well.. straightaway for some good fetch playing. No bathroom tho.. maybe the owner might bless this beauty camp with a bucket and toilet seat in the future. Only downfall of tenting here.

Ended up staying multiple nights because of how convenient of a spot it was to check out both the Keys and Miami, very short distance to both. Yet still very rural and quiet, the first site is where I stayed all nights and feels very cozy. Would definitely visit again

Weekend Trip to Gate to the Keys

A great campsite I used as a base to explore Biscayne. Just a bit tricky to find entry gate the first time, but once there, it felt very safe and protected. After a long drive, opening the door to fresh smells of country greens and to starlit skies was a treat.

Weekend Trip to Gate to the Keys

It is a nice fenced/gated garden spot to stay with a lot of farm land around but not too far from Everglades, Miami, and Biscayne areas. We were there during a cold snap and helped a frozen iguana thaw in the sun! Nice fruit trees and easy to have our dog there. 4 other RVs were there with us but still quiet and semi-private.

Quite and secure place with full hook up if needed. We just plugged in. The property has more of a commercial feel than tropical. Hagen was prompt to communicate with. We would stay there again. 5 stars.

The area is surrounded by palm trees which offer privacy and gorgeous views at anytime of day. It is quiet and peaceful and we had plenty of space. Hagen is a fantastic host and very personable! It was our first time staying in a camper van and he stayed late to greet us. Throughout our stay, he made sure we had everything we needed and answered any questions we had which were a lot since we were complete beginners. With his guidance, we felt at ease and at home! He also has the cutest and sweetest dogs!! We would love to come back one day! :)

Weekend Trip to Redlands Palmgrove

Hagen’s hipcamp is safe and in a great location to visit the Everglades. He’s highly communicative and friendly. There is a mix of short and long term campers on the property. Some spots are quite private while others are not. When Hagen or his family is around, there 3 dogs are roaming the property. They are very friendly pups. There is no trash and WiFi was out while I was there but he was planning to fix it. I’d recommend staying here if you’re visiting and the surrounding area, it’s good value compared to nearby parks.

Not only would I recommend this host I loved the location. It was close to south Miami but felt like the country. Close by farm stands and u pick strawberries was an added bonus. Completely fenced so my dog enjoyed a little off leash play. The other guests were lovely of the ones we met. Five out of five stars.
