We really enjoyed our campsite! John was an excellent host -- checking in with us but also letting us do our own thing. We brought paddle boards and spent the entire day paddling Shell Creek and taking in the beauty of nature. The campsite was huge and very shady. It mentioned being sloped but that was really very, very tiny. We have a 13' Scamp and easily got it leveled. We will definitely return!

Me and my husband stayed at Creekside A! It was beautiful! Large area on the creek with lots of tables and chairs and an awesome firepit. John’s place is a must see! He has a beautiful area to unwind in the shade at all the sites. The “common” area is so cool. The shower and bathroom area is the perfect set up. You will not be disappointed. Close enough to everything you want to do in the area. Or just sit back and enjoy the camp. I would highly recommend hipcamper’s to check it out 👍🏼👍🏼

Phenomenal spot!! 10/10 would recommend. Especially creekside A campsite. We basically had the whole back area to ourselves. Very secluded, very quiet. The bathroom was super clean and had AC if you want to sneak in for a quick break from the heat. The outdoor shower was a nice touch. We rented the two man Kayak and went up the river a couple miles. Fish were jumping out the water is was so full of fish. John was an excellent Host and I even offered us to stay a little longer after check out since he didn’t have anyone else coming in after us. We paid for 4 bundles of wood and John’s son damn cut us down a whole tree!!! lol awesome:) we had a blast, definitely lots of mosquitoes for about an hour after the sun goes down being by the river and all but after that clear sky’s and good times. Definitely would recommend any family especially with kids to stay at this campsite. They even had a little trees house for the kiddos to chill in. Very cool. Good WiFi service too. This Memorial Day will be remembered forever. Thanks John!!!

John's creekside property is a slice of paradise! And John is the ultimate host making sure we felt completely at home on his beautiful property. Love that there are kayaks available, plenty of space to sit,relax, surrounded by beautiful flowers, plants, and birds viewing the creek, not only at our beautiful site but in the large backyard where the outdoor bar, firepit, treehouse, and dock with sundeck were. The half bath was airconditioned and impeccable and the outdoor shower has a privacy fence. Our site even had a hammock, charcoal grill, and plenty of chairs around firepit and tables. A true gem. Perfect for family gatherings!

This was our last round of camping in Florida before heading north to Georgia, and J&P Creekside Retreat is an awesome place for camping! We have called it “magical” … with the majestic oak trees along the Shell Creek and all kinds of fauna and wildlife near the creek banks. The hosts John and Patty are friendly, kind, helpful, and attentive to any of your needs, and son JJ goes out of his way to keep the grounds so beautiful. Great spot! Our dog was allowed off leash in Jolene's fully fenced, beautiful backyard with a saltwater pool and she allows guests to use the pool. Direct access to waterways and free use of kayaks or canoe. We spent some time with Jolene by the pool and she is a delightful host. Highly recommend!

We had a relaxing and fun time at J & P’s campground! He has it set up with chairs, picnic tables, and a hammock which is so nice to have all that already there so we could get our camper parked and then chill out and enjoy the peaceful campsite. We were able to use the lights and fan in our camper but the voltage was not strong enough to run our AC. We stayed on A which has a kayak access at the site and it’s just a couple minutes walk to the dock and swimming area. Unfortunately we couldn’t have a fire because there was a “no burn” in effect because of the drought FL is in right now. We only stayed one night but I would’ve loved to stay one or 2 more nights :) We hope to go back!

We had a wonderful stay at The Hideaway! The campsite was exactly as described—well-maintained, spacious, and private, with beautiful creek frontage (though access to the water was limited due to brush). It was conveniently located near the shower, bathroom, and public areas, which made things easy. John was a fantastic host—friendly, responsive, and thoughtful. He had everything ready for us, including kayak rentals and even a lovely sunset pontoon cruise on the scenic creek. The site comfortably fit our three small tents and vehicles, with extra amenities like a picnic table, chairs, a hammock, and even a power cord—wish I had brought a hot pot! Some of my friends noticed light road noise since the site is near the entrance, but it didn’t bother me. We were part of a larger birthday celebration and may have been a bit loud at times, but John remained gracious and accommodating throughout. Everyone was especially excited that dogs were welcome—J and P’s pups were the sweetest! Morning coffee by the river while birdwatching was a personal highlight. I’d absolutely recommend this spot and hope we get the chance to return (hopefully a little quieter next time!). Thank you for hosting us!

Creekside A was a great location next to the river and close to the bathroom and shower. The bathroom and shower were perfect, and the signage on the property especially around the community area sets this place on our visit again list for sure. Creekside A and B are be perfect to both to give two groups privacy but still be close enough for friendly interaction. John and his son were very helpful and friendly, and we loved talking to them.
