The meadow we occupy was once the farmers property that I grew up next to at my parents farm house.
When he wanted to sell his property he offered it to us for purchase at a fair price if we would not develop more than we needed to live here.
We maintained the meadow adjacent to our property and have kept it as an agricultural site.
We have had our son develop an edible forest garden and a unique diversified small orchard so we can eat and share healthy organic fruits and vegetables while helping our environment and wildlife and educating others to do the same.
It is expensive to live in Newtown but we love our property.
We want to teach others to grow food from their land while helping to support us keeping our adjacent property agricultural and undeveloped.
Our property has provided many happy gatherings and events and we love to share it with others.

Enjoy your stay next to our edible forest garden on the Edge of a beautiful meadow along side the orchard of berries, nuts and fruit trees. Various seasons will offer you an opportunity to pick your own breakfast in our maturing establishment. You can enjoy exploring, and examining our 7 year permacultuire food forest with chestnut seedlings already tall enough to climb , 10-foot hazels bearing buckets of nuts and a different selection of raspberries, blackberries, gooseberry, currents, golden berries, service berries and Mulberries. Enjoy a stroll through the meadow trail to breath in morning views and evening fireflies and stars. This camp area is very private but household amenities are not far away if desired. This site is much more private than Mickelberry Forest Garden Site and the beautiful mountain view is only a small step away. One mile away we offer nearby blue mark trails, mountain biking, lake and outdoor activities are at your fingertips and your hosts will be happy to provide any assistance needed to find or enjoy these opportunities. The Creamery (Ferris Acres) is one of the best farm ice cream shops in the East. We can provide breakfast upon request from our free range chickens on our kiwi lined deck with beautiful mountain views. Come and enjoy the croak of the bullfrog and the sound of the crickets. Theres something really special about this place! The horses are amazing, the land and trails are beautiful and the people are nice and friendly! My old van made it easily up the hill and the parking was nice and flat and the power hookup very good! My dogs also had a great time! The WiFi worked very well on the iPad but the phones struggled a bit. But really I have to dedicate some words to the horses: oh my, what beautiful animals they are! And they are all rescue! Mama and Lacey stole my heart!

You can hear the h8ghwa6 sounds but it's muffled and we couldn't hear feom inside our van. Field very open, so if in high summer would be warm but perfect for a fall overnight. Would use again.

We enjoyed the easy and quick set up on this beautiful property. The fallen leaves made it that much more picturesque. Our host was very responsive to our messages, and the nearby town of Washingtonville is very quaint, and we wished we had had more time to enjoy it.

Molly was very responsive and a pleasant host. Due to a miscommunication we were not at the orchard site so I can’t comment on that, we were at a big open field site. There was plenty of room and Molly provided wood and water and stumps to sit on by the fire. We were very happy about the orchard popup there in the morning to get cider and apple donuts! Very fun stop on pur bike packing trip through Westchester.

This place is pretty remarkable, because I’m sure you’ve never considered camping in New York City. The positives: easy to get to without a lot of City driving, plenty of space, electrical hook ups, safe section of town, bathrooms with toilets and showers, shockingly quiet at night. The Wi-Fi was fast and steady and it was good enough for me to have zoom meetings. The negatives: most of the sites aren’t actually numbered so you just sort of pick one but everyone who arrives looks very confused, the parking lot surroundings aren’t very beautiful and there’s a lot of weird stuff being stored in the parking lot from the gym next-door, and the bathrooms aren’t great. But, come on, it’s New York City. You’re not staying at the Ritz and this definitely is not the Ritz. This is absolutely the least expensive way to stay in New York while sleeping in your own bed. The subway is about four blocks away and it takes about 25 minutes to get to Manhattan. I absolutely loved it and will definitely be back.

We weren’t at Sundial Farm much since we were in town for an art show, but it was such a lovely place to come back to each evening. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, and it was wonderful to have a fire every night. We really appreciated the provided water and firewood, such thoughtful touches. A comfortable, convenient, and relaxing stay!
