The yurt on Nancy's land was a great experience. It was comfortable, spacious and clean. I loved that it was so close for beach. Great place to grill and reminisce with old friends. Highly recommended.

The Yurt Sanctuary was calm peaceful place to stay near the beach. We used it to have a place to crash after a fishing trip and grill etc! Every was as listed, one thing you might want to keep in mind during summer month it does get hot! But the evening was very cool and comfy with the fans but luckily the beach is literally a 7min drive. We had a blast and will definitely come back again!

Weekend Trip to Humble Farm with Simplicity

This site is exactly as described and pictured! Both hosts - Mary and Viktor - were extremely kind and welcoming. Yes, there was another group camping in the paddock BUT there's enough space that there was still plenty of privacy (more than a public campground). There was plenty of firewood provided at a reasonable $10. Everything was clean. Would definitely camp here again!

We really enjoyed this campground, it is in a great location, easy to find. Sites are spaced out nicely and it wasn’t too crowded or loud. Multiple porta potties, a shower, and some hoses for fresh water were awesome to have as well. Most of the sites have tables and chairs which is a nice bonus. Our favorite part was fishing in the river!

Had a nice time camping at Peconic River Campground! It was simple, with a large field with people pulling up and camping all around, a medium amount of trees and a beautiful lake. Just don't expect privacy or to feel like you're in a rural area. Bathrooms are portapottie. It's good for an easy camping trip not a far drive from civilization. Tyler is very responsive and helpful. Not sure it was worth the price but its Long Island.

The campground was quiet and our campsite was clean. When we arrived and set up camp we contacted Tyler and he came right over to check in. Tyler pointed out the amenities of the rustic campground, asked if we had any questions and was on his way. My only complaint was that the highway noises were loud. The drive to the Camp site was easy and the direction were clear. We were able to choose a beautiful spot across the lake. Tyler was such a great host that we recommend this Camping Ground for everyone to visit.

It was very basic, but all I needed was a piece of ground to park a Sienna camper. My spot was a bit boggy, but by choice - I didn't need to pitch a tent (and there were definitely higher / drier sites. I was quite happy to park my camp chair on the sandy berm next to the river/lake, where I swam several times.

2 nights at Yurt Farm Stay

I absolutely loved staying in Amy and Bill’s Yurt! The farm is delightful with horses, cows, goats, chickens and ducks. Amy and Bill were friendly and welcoming and gave me great recommendations in the area. The yurt is clean, the bed is super comfortable, the outhouse is clean and smells fresh like pine. There is a nice outdoor shower with hot water. They provided a cooler, you just have to get ice. A bbq and fire pit are available for you. Overall a fantastic stay, would definitely come again!

4 nights at Peconic River Campgrounds

It was a good time, camping at Peconic. The convenient location next to a lake is ideal for anyone who wants to paddle. The site's got an outdoor shower, though there's no hot water. And the host sells firewood too, which is quite convenient. There are quite a few things to note that might make this campground not for everybody: Long Island's woods have an overarching tick problem, and unfortunately Peconic Campground is no exception. The site has an outdoor shower, but no hot water. There are also portta potties that are in surprisingly no-so-bad condition. The path to the lake is a little unfavorable; it's a row of long wooden boards thrown in a line over ponds. It gets the job done, but it's not convenient for everyone, especially for anyone hard at walking or carrying a heavy boat. The lake is nice and sizable for boating and fishing, and it turns to river both to the East and West. Both directions have a few dams that require getting out and carrying your vessel(s) to continue exploring. This might sound like a bad thing (and it probably is for some), but I'm strong enough to be able to tolerate it. Plus, it adds character and aesthetic. To the East, after 3 land stops, Roadhouse Pizza is along the river. We like to stop there for a slice! There's a ice cream shop near there too, though I haven't stopped there yet. Overall, it's a good time at Peconic, despite the flaws. Just be sure to check for ticks throughout and after your trip!

Excellent! Location and access to Peconic River for fishing and kayaking is A+. Campground is large and spacious, also cozy and very well maintained. Firepit, chairs and picnic table provided are great.

We cannot allow any wood for camp fires to be brought in form the outside for environmental reasons. It can be pre-purchased for $12 per bundle on this site, or $10.00 cash here at farm. Farm Fresh eggs daily when available for $5.00 per 1/2 dozen. There are blankets and pillows are provided, and linens for cabin or trailer sites. Garbage removal is available as well $5 per bag provided.

The meadow we occupy was once the farmers property that I grew up next to at my parents farm house. When he wanted to sell his property he offered it to us for purchase at a fair price if we would not develop more than we needed to live here. We maintained the meadow adjacent to our property and have kept it as an agricultural site. We have had our son develop an edible forest garden and a unique diversified small orchard so we can eat and share healthy organic fruits and vegetables while helping our environment and wildlife and educating others to do the same. It is expensive to live in Newtown but we love our property. We want to teach others to grow food from their land while helping to support us keeping our adjacent property agricultural and undeveloped. The property is also the home to 3 cats. While physical check out of the tent is 10am, please ask if you would like to stay later. We can do a day rental of just the pool and gardens for an additional fee of $600 for parties of up to 20 people. For larger events, such as weddings, please contact us to discuss. Please ask if you would like to stay a little later than typical check out time. We often can accommodate. Please do NOT pick the fruits or veggies without asking as often things are not quite ripe yet. When things are ripe, we will try to put a bowl of fresh stuff out for you to choose from. Of course, it goes without saying, Please be considerate and clean up after yourselves. No smoking cigarettes or e-cigarette, vapes in the tent. If you need to bring a pet, they must be well-trained and not have an issue with cats or other dogs as we have 3 cats. Pets are NOT allowed to go to the bathroom on the lawn or in the gardens. They must either go in the woods or in the designated area for this. Please clean up after your pet if in the designated area. Ask us for how and where. We provide a wide range of amenities including first aid, bathroom and shower supplies. If you forget your tooth brush we usually have new extras around. Please bring bathing suits. We do have pool towels if you need them. If you need ice for our or your coolers, please purchase before hand. There are two supermarkets in town along with lots of other amenities in town. Please do not smoke in the tent as it sticks to the canvas. But you are welcome to smoke or vape outside of the tent. Parking on site off of the driveway across from the house. Please let us know if you need a later checkout time as checkout time can be altered to later in the day depending on new arrivals. The pool area is shared with the homeowners. If there is something you need, please do not hesitate to ask. We are pretty reasonable about requests.
