The Ute Lodge was homesteaded in the 1930’s by Joe Fox who after leaving the military came west to settle in the White River valley. Joe was known for his friendliness, hospitality and wild stories. Today you might find much of the same. From Joe’s day to today it is a place where families come together to get away. The Ute Lodge is now owned by Karl and Mona Maser who celebrated 20 years of ownership summer of 2019! All summer our cabins are filled with guests from all over the US as well as international travelers. One of our favorite things about the summer is our weekly potlucks where we all share an outdoor meal. All of our visitors have a standing invitation to join us around the community campfire at night. Great spot very high up on the mtn so you get really good views from the campsite. Very secluded from other campsites. Very rocky though so be sure to bring sleeping pads if you decide to tent camp. We had a great time up there.

Perfect place to park (as long as you can boondock); super easy access to all of the trail heads along Glenwood Canyon, and easy in and out of Glenwood Springs. Host was super responsive!!

Would 💯 stay again. Beautiful views. Very secluded. Loved the picnic tables and awning as well as the grill. The road up was all gravel, lots of pot holes for a few miles - kids loved the bumpy ride. High altitude campsite so prepare in advance.

So peaceful and beautiful. Great trails for some hiking and the pond was a great place to spend some time. Loved sitting outside with morning coffee and listening to the creek and animals. Loved hearing the horses, ducks, chickens and pigs. She was nice and a pleasure to talk too and her 2 dogs are so friendly and sweet. Was very helpful and helped accommodate us with our 45’ foot rig. Had a nice area with a sand box, swings, basketball and games and an area for bonfire. Well worth the visit!

We had a blast! Such a beautiful location. Everything was perfect. We loved exploring the trails and bristlecones with our dogs. The camp was quiet and secluded. We can't wait to come back!

Beautiful and quiet spot, lots of space. Easy to locate with maps. Amenities that are there- fire pit, tables, grill are all great! We had a great time hiking in the area and walking around Alma a bit too.

8 nights at Ute Lodge - At the End of the Road

Home on Wheels is a truly sweet and special place. Hosts Mona, Carl and Martina could not be nicer. It was so fun to enjoy the farm life, pet the horses, feed the pigs our scraps, listen to the chickens, play the games and sit by the community fire. We mainly hiked and fished all over the gorgeous area. We will be back!
