This Gorgeous 6 acre property has DIRECT PRIVATE ACCESS to Hardscrabble Mountain, The Holy Cross Wilderness and The White River National Forest. There are 24,000 acres of BLM public land and also The White River National Forest with over 3,500 square miles, both with thousands of miles of recreation trails for mountain biking, hiking, ATVing, MOTO X Dirtbiking, SidebySide UTVing, backcountry skiing and snowboarding, 4x4 Jeeping/Mudding, Jeep, Bronco, Land Rovers, OffRoad, Bike, Hike and snowmobiling. Walk out of your tent, your RV or my cabin and you are in BLM and The White River National Forest. Plenty of flat, shaded ground with water and electric available. The biggest shade trees in Eagle County, firepits, and a creek with pond and waterfall with sand beach await. Incredible views of Castle Peak, The Flat tops Wilderness, Red Canyon and Hardscrabble Mountain right from the Property. Vail and Beaver Creek Ski Resorts with the best skiing and powder in the world and Glenwood Springs with the world famous Hot Springs Pool and Glenwood Caverns Amusement Park ( amusement park on top of a mountain) and the Iron Mountain Hot Springs Each 25 minutes away. Aspen is a little over an hour away. Pets are welcome and can be off leash if they can respond to voice controls and owners are responsible for their pets at all times. Dogs love it here! All poop must be picked up, $35 per pet per night. GoPro Mountain Games, Eagle County Rodeo, Birds of Prey Downhill, Vail Farmers Market, Free Showdown Down Thursday Eagle, Gerald R. Ample space to pitch a large tent. The large lean to with chairs and table was great for dinner on a cool evening. We had to pack up and get moving but this would be a fun place to stay for a couple days in the area. Gerry was kind and helpful.

Site 1 - Vail Valley Backcountry Access Tent
After driving to many of the local BLM camps and not feeling comfortable with leaving our camp to fish the local rivers, we found Gerry’s oasis. She was an amazing host, has a beautiful property and the experience was very tranquil. Highly recommended.

Gerry is a great host. We spent several days and it was a great location with access to lots of good local food in Eagle and just a short drive up to Edwards and Vail.

Tent camped here with a larger group after hiking hanging lake! It was a great place to rest coming from Denver that gave us access to some supplies and stopping in Vail before. Host was awesome and kind! If you are coming from Denver and not familiar with the area, odds are you won’t be able to have a fire due to local restrictions, so bring a light or lantern!

Had to make a last minute reservation due to our solar panels not operating and we were losing power fast! In an area we weren’t familiar with and it could not have gone any better! It was amazing! Super friendly host very hospitable. Would definitely stay again!

My husband and I enjoyed the quiet and beauty of Gerry’s place. Enjoyed the sunrise and sunset, walked the trail right by our site, very relaxing after several days of driving. Gerry is a wonderful hostess. Would definitely come again.

Easy access, not terribly difficult to find, great common area! The sprinklers went off in the middle of the night, which wasn't awesome. Gerry was quick to respond and easy to work with, and rented us their propane fire pit for the night!

Truly an amazing site! My family stayed on Gerry’s property for a week. Gerry was more than gracious as a host, she was very responsive, welcoming and warm. She went out of her way to provide maps and recommendations for the local area in terms of those things to do and places to eat. I never thought I’d say this, but the nicest outhouse I’ve ever used. The views are stunning, the proximity to the ATV, trails unparalleled. My two-year-old son had a blast running around the property. Only a 30 minute drive to Vail. We couldn’t have asked for more.

Directions to the site were good from the owner, however the GPS takes you about a block from the site. There were several homes in the area as well as parked campers so it was a bit confusing. A picture of the site would be helpful in finding the right area.

Very convenient off the interstate. Driveway is confusing, especially with a few "your GPS is Wrong, turn around" signs. Thankfully Gerry had sent us pics that we could piece the location together based off the powerlines that run over the property. Great little hike option up the hill to tower, very dog friendly. The outhouse has probably the nicest pit toilet I've ever seen. The campsites and property are more condensed/cluttered than the pictures give off, Gerry wasn't home during our stay, was flexible about us changing/adding dates, she was pretty on edge and was constantly checking in and calling us over 3 day stay. First night the ranch hand forgot to shut the sprinklers off, and one pelted the side of our tent ever couple hours and soaked our bedding. Tent area was well kept with smooth ground and freshly mowed lawn, tons of cute praire dogs. Good fire pit, and lean-to. It does get very dusty in this area so those with sensitive airways be warned

Site 1 - Vail Valley Backcountry Access Tent
Mixed feelings on this site. Views are great but under power lines. Facilities are fantastic, site is super clean and had water / power but our tent, my friends mat and bottom of sleeping bag got wet first night by accidental spraying of sprinklers. At 3am we eventually found and turned off the one that was getting us. Location is great for Aspen and Breckenridge hiking as it’s lower elevation but lots of freeway noise.

Finding where to set up tent was not very clear. There were sprinklers that went off during the night near by and you can hear traffic.

Site 2-ON THE GRASS
The perfect location to set up base camp or just “get away” for a night. Close enough to town for a good breakfast when you don’t want to cook and still in the mountains near trails, rivers and lakes for fishing. We got rained on the whole trip but there was a lean-to we could set up our “kitchen”.

This ranch style Hipcamp site is conveniently located outside of Vail and had everything we needed for a pleasant night. Stay! The host was super responsive to our messaging and made sure we had everything we needed.

Site 2-ON THE GRASS
CO native traveling from western Colorado for Lacrosse Tournaments for my kids. Hotels and eating out is not cheap. It was just what we needed. Gerry was super nice and welcoming to us and our dogs. Clean, quiet, safe. We stayed two nights and traveled back and forth to matches. We were able to leave things at our site without worry. Traveling alone with kids gets interesting. I was more than happy with my our stay, host, and our spot. Easy access to I-70. Thank you so much. Will definitely stay again.

Muddy but good location

Overall, the site had everything we needed. It was however extremely muddy. We left early so the ground was a bit harder but our motorhome almost got stuck. Close to a laundromat about 10 minutes away and wasn’t too bad of a drive getting to the ski resorts since most of the traffic is coming from the other direction.
