The Ute Lodge was homesteaded in the 1930’s by Joe Fox who after leaving the military came west to settle in the White River valley.
Joe was known for his friendliness, hospitality and wild stories.
Today you might find much of the same. From Joe’s day to today it is a place where families come together to get away.
The Ute Lodge is now owned by Karl and Mona Maser who celebrated 20 years of ownership summer of 2019!
All summer our cabins are filled with guests from all over the US as well as international travelers. One of our favorite things about the summer is our weekly potlucks where we all share an outdoor meal. We do have neighbors, but the property is pretty well tucked away. You may see the occasional vehicle or hiker on the road or hear someone doing some yard work, but it is generally very quiet and secluded at the yurt.
Our neighbors have chosen to live in Marble for its privacy and tranquillity. Please show them respect by keeping the noise down and leaving them be.
If you have questions or need help, call us from the yurt landline.
Winter camping experience/equipment and a high-clearance 4x4 vehicle with severe snow-rated tires and chains may be required to access the yurt Oct-April. During large snow events, driving to the yurt may be impossible in any vehicle. Skiing to the yurt may be an option Dec - Feb. Gear sleds are available at the yurt for your use.

If Rio Blanco near the town of Meeker Coloraodo, is where you are headed out to, there's a Beautiful view from this "Dry cabin" with a cute and rustic feeling screen porch, by an interesting mountain with a rocky wall and hillside right outside the door, and overlooking the White River, and Beautiful green hills and mountains and much of the time- prettier and blue skies. We offer a peaceful, humble and quiet, furnished, yet not insulated just yet, 12X30, new structure that is categorized presently as a dry cabin with two full beds that are both working as hide-a-beds, where there are two screened windows and a fun screen room attached to the small but comfortable little covered porch.
While we have plans for more developing in the future, we ourselves are in the process of working into our own plans for the overall site. Right now, a peaceful night's sleep is much of the idea of this stay. While there is some noise from the highway that runs near the property, it gears much towards agricultural travel, such as semi trucks headed to and from from the area.
While we always will have handwashing water and a bottle of drinking water, we are in the process of developing, which REQUIRES that anyone who reserves is ALREADY equipped with sufficient drinking, any cooking water- and any necessary washing water for their overnight staying. There is a plug, small coffeemaker, and microwave which are within the structure. Some paper towels or napkins and a tissue box are provided. While much of the time, there are ample hand towels for some convenience and extra older sleeping bags, it is not our responsibility at this time to "provide linens". Trained pet may accompany a guest, and are not the responsibility in ANY WAY of the management. Parents or guardians are completely responsible for any children or guest that accompanies them. At this time, this structure is only for people who can walk up a 100 foot, small hill without any assistance that is not already accompanying them. Owners are not responsible for providing night time bright lights. While there is always a lamp it doesn't always provide enough light for some. There is no cooling system within the structure, and only overnight is cool in the summer-(Checkout is before 10 AM).

Well-appointed log cabin at 9000' on Grand Mesa w/ Starlink internet on 72 acres borders National Forest and boasts unmatched views, massive aspen groves, and direct access to West Green Mountain trail (~1/4 mile away from the north edge of the property). This off-grid cabin has running water, full kitchen & nice bathroom w/ shower via solar PV system, propane appliances & backup generator. NO PETS and must have AWD or 4WD vehicle, no exceptions. Owner's personal residence, treat it nicely!
The space
Cozy and open floorplan is ideal for a couple or up to 4 people. The loft above has a deluxe king size bed facing East for glorious sunrises over the West Elk mountains. The other side of the loft has a trundle bed where the lower twin bed rolls out from underneath the upper twin bed. There is also a standing desk with a Dell docking station and large monitor in the loft. No audible privacy other than the bathroom; everything is open. Pellet stove for heat if needed and backup propane heaters on the main level. Nice live edge furniture throughout (coasters and placemats provided, please use them!) and cherry rocking chairs for watching whatever streaming services you have subscriptions to on the entertainment center. Solid wood deck furniture and BBQ. Occasionally ATVs will pass by, neighbors have an easement to the forest but they will not use my land except to cross it.
Guest access
You can access the entire 72 acres and all of the cabin except for a few secured closet/pantry areas for the owner/cleaning crew. The generator/solar system shed is also locked. Plenty of parking. AWD or 4WD is preferred but it is a gravel road. Welcome to bring ATVs, go hunt in the adjacent National Forest, bring horses and your own hay, etc.
Other things to note
You may need to run the generator a few hours per day which is as simple as turning a switch in the kitchen if it is cloudy. If the weather is nice then the solar system will generally take care of everything.
AT&T works well here and wifi calling via starlink internet.

We loved staying at Alpine Valley Ranch! We were there for the mountain games and this spot is a little piece of heaven. Only 30 minutes to Vail. The cabin is precious and after driving across the country. it felt great to sleep in a bed and take a hot shower.. And my daugher and some of her friends were able to camp there. Tons of trails right behind the property. Very cool spot! Thanks Gerry!

We had an amazing stay and the views are stunning. It’s extremely private and relaxing. The yurt very clean and inviting. The outdoor shower was definitely the best part. Its the perfect getaway from the city.
I definitely recommend 4WD as the road up to yurt is gravel at a moderate incline.

Juniper Yurt is a once in a lifetime place to stay. This is my 2nd time staying here and I hope it won't be the last. It is so remote and peaceful and beautiful. Everything you need and more comes with the yurt, inc a gorgeous outdoor shower. Even though remote, you can be down in the town in just a short drive or hours walk so you are not totally disconnected should you need. Ginger was so great at communicating with us and made us feel very welcome, we knew we could message at any time if we needed anything. I would recommend for anyone to stay here!

Weekend Trip to Riverwalk Yurt, luxury on river
Excellent location to enjoy a little bit of everything the area has to offer! The neighbors also have live events and a nice little market if you forget anything! The Grove Yurt was beautifully setup to accommodate any and all with minimal preparation! Will definitely have to try the Riverwalk Yurt next!

I don’t think I can even put into words how perfect this spot is. Every detail, from the showers and bathrooms to the tent amenities, was so thoughtful and made our glamping stay so special. It’s the business class of camping and we will definitely be back!

The grounds were wonderful, the communal breakfast spot was quaint and charming. Our kids hiked the mountain behind the property every morning. The bedding was a little light for cold nights, but requesting a space heater helped immensely. We had a wonderful stay!

So wonderful! The location/grounds were as described and we had a wonderful time!
The only tips I would share are...
Bring an extra blanket if the nights get chilly! Provided better is such a great service, but always remember layers, even as a just in case.
While there was the cutest communal/kitch area, bring some campfire/boiling water safe mugs. And if you want to heat water for coffee, etc. pack a french press or tea spout.
Will definitely be returning!

We had an absolute blast with Cindie! the yurts were so nice, Cindie was so attentive and always had great reccs for what to do/eat in town. The wine tasting was stellar. Zen Zen gardens is a paonia gem and we hope this becomes a landmark for the community. By far the most fun we’ve had in a while

4 nights at Stay in Grace: Wine-Country Retreat
Grace is a sweet glamping option. The view from the breakfast table was lovely, the decor appealing and it was clean. It had everything we needed to make meals and wash dishes. The bed was comfortable. The furnace, electric stove and small heater for the bedroom made cool nights comfortable. Paonia is beautiful! The drive to Crested Butte from here is amazing!!!
Karina was very communicative with clear instructions before our trip and was quick to respond to our requests.
If you've never used a composting toilet before, it's an adjustment but it's a good option for glamping. The shower had hot water and enough pressure.
I would stay here again.
