The larger cabin now has a finished bathroom complete with a very unique all rock shower, and kitchen, We offer a sunset horseback ride in the mountains or a private horse riding lesson in our arena or round pen, or you can go on a mountain bike ride on Red Rock to Rattlesnake Arches (which is the largest collection of arches in the world, besides the Utah delicate arches), above the ranch on a beautiful aspen-covered alpine trail by the reservoirs, or go on a hike anywhere! Close to a grocery store, restaurants, and a coffee shop. The site is located on the back of a private residence, so there are quiet hours. This site is generally for people who want to ride their bicycles on the world class Lunch Loops (less than a mile away) or explore the canyons of the surrounding area and need a place to crash. The camping area is quiet and private; we are pretty much your only neighbors. Site is limited to camper vans, truck campers, smaller travel trailers, Class C RVs or smaller. Rigs longer than 25' are not recommended due to space due to maneuvering logistics. If you do have a 25'+ rig be warned - the parking may be tight and will require you to have a sidekick to help you back in. If we are home we can assist. There is a hose and water available to fill up water jugs - please inquire. We love this area and know it well, so we will gladly provide any information about food, hiking, or fun activities for you and your loved ones. Also please inquire about fresh eggs - we have fenced-in chickens out back (all hens, no loud roosters) and are happy to provide when possible! We have 2 honeybee hives that will be fenced in the back corner of the yard. The hive entrances are facing away from camp, so the bees' flight path will not interfere with you hanging out. The fence is designed to keep out any animals, children, or people, deterring them from getting close access to the hives. The campsites are 2 minutes from downtown Fruita for those who would enjoy good restaurants, great coffee shops, or a drink. You will find a grocery store, pharmacy, and gas station in the same area. To consider: Our place is great but not for everyone. We have three convenient sites, all with electricity and water and one with sewage. They all have great views and are very close to the town of Fruita. Every hipcampers can enjoy the beach and the lake between mid-May and October when its full. The property is used by THE GONDOLA SHOP, which restores ski gondolas. Monday to Friday, you might hear some light noise and see employees walking around. For that reason and the potential hazard YOU ARE FULLY RESPONSIBLE OF YOUR CHILDREN IF YOU HAVE SOME on our property. We ask that all vehicles drive no faster than 10 miles per hour for the same reason. We will consider a group of campers or mix camper/tents roof tents as long as you have your own bathroom to share. The drive in is tight and we want to take all precautionary measures to allow room for emergency vehicles access. The only exceptions are vans and suv camper top vehicles or trailers obviously. We have specific sites for you. We provide dry camping only. PLEASE NOTE GENERATORS ARE WELCOME, our listing is incorrect.Cooking: A communal propane grill and a dozen tables are available for everyone's enjoyment. Located near the grill is a chuckwagon box of grilling utensils, paper plates, salt and pepper etc. If you need something please ask. An outdoor community sink with potable water is available. Please be kind and follow the instructions at the sink. A community fire ring is a fun way to enjoy smores and make friends with all of our guests. Plan on booking to enjoy our Smores n Stars Party near sunset.Facilities: A private restroom with sink and toilet but no shower, located inside our home is available to our guests during the daytime hours. Emergency only between dusk and dawn due to no outside lighting to and from your campsites to the lodge. Dry camping facilities are your responsibility during the night. (If you are needing more availability for facilities please book as a guest on our ABNB site for inside the home accommodations.) If you need help or suggestions, we always provide to our guests a feeling of welcome. We are always open to suggestions as we grow and change with our guests needs. Please keep in mind the lodge home is an ABNB. Some areas will be separated for our HipCamp guests and our ABNB guests.We're so much more... Our ranch is for all ages, and best enjoyed by adults seeking a summer camp atmosphere of ECO Nature Therapies based on our Indigenous Teachings. We moved here in 1997 The home has had major remodels done on it. The lake is an old gravel pit to make road base for local road construction. The buoys in the lake are scuba projects from the local college CMU, and hold lots of fish. Other nesting platforms are for our local Geese and they hatch out in April-June. We airbnb 2 rooms in our home as a shared facility and have airbnbs in Northern Ca and Baja. Our home is off limits for campers as we need to respect the space for our other airbnb guests. But in an emergence please call, cell service works fine. port-a potty is gone for the winter November-April. port-a potty is clean and works great, May- Oct. If you here in the winter you may use the trees or Mavericks gas station in 1.5 miles away.
