Disconnect and relax at our custom-built tiny house nestled against a grove of Aspen trees. This 100% solar-powered and self-sustaining cabin is situated on 2 acres at 9300 feet above sea level, accessible via a scenic 13-mile drive on dirt roads off Hwy 24 in Florissant, Colorado. * No running water October 15 through May 15 We are 100% OFF GRID and do not have a well or septic system. Visit our website at www.themilkywaycabin.com for details before making a booking request. There are two lofts. One has a queen bed and the other has two twin mattresses made of foam that fold in to chairs. Bring sheets and blankets. The kitchen table is flat against the wall and folds down when needed. Turn and pull out the lever on top release the table. There is a stool under the stairs and the box in the corner was designed to be used as a seat/ottoman. Lay out a blanket on the brand new deck and bring binoculars or use our telescope (available in the summer only) and stargaze! Lots of things to do including hiking, paddle boarding, fishing in the summer at 11 Mile Reservoir. Go snow shoeing, rent a Polaris in Woodland Park, or snow mobiling in Buena Vista. Eleven Mile Reservoir is just a few minutes away by car. Detailed arrival and departure instructions are on our website. You will receive a password to login to a private web page upon booking. This will help you with how to use the unique systems in the cabin. You must agree to read it thoroughly before your arrival. We do not charge a cleaning fee and kindly urge that you leave it cleaner than you found it. If we have to clean up after you in any way, you will be charged a $150 cleaning fee. 40 acre property overlooking 11-mile reservoir. This property currently has a well drilled and a fire pit installed. More being added regularly. Wildlife in the area are Antelope, Cattle, Elk, Deer, and a large herd of Big Horn Sheep live in the hills to the north of the property. Surrounded by Stoll Mountain, Pulver Mountain, and Puma ridge this is a great open location for RV, Bus, Sprinter, Van, or Tent camping. This area is a 10 minute drive to multiple reservoirs and the Dream Stream which is some of the best fishing in Colorado. Boats, rafts, etc are allowed on different reservoirs. Hiking, ATV trails, fossils, gems, rafting, skiing are all very close to this location. Come enjoy the great outdoors!

Learn more about this land: Elevation 7,000 feet. Flat to slightly rolling grass field and pond. Camping is allowed on east or west side of pond. East of the pond area has *firepit, picnic tables and chairs. Camping on either the east or west side of the pond in mowed grassy areas only. Vehicles are not permitted over berm, which is access to the east side of pond. Walking access only. Please adhere to this requirement. A small wagon is available to transport camping items. Tents are allowed on either west or east side of pond. Trailers and campers are only allowed on the west side of the pond in the mowed grassy area. *For the 2024 season there if a Fire ban in effect. This Fire Ban is required by the local fire department. No fires, charcoal grills, gas firepits, gas BBW, gas stoves, smoking, or fireworks are allowed. Please consider other options when on the site. This Fire ban is strictly enforced. Any violators will be asked to leave with no refund. No Port-a-Potty on site. Campers, trailers or guest portable potty only. No vehicles over berm area (access to east side of pond). No exceptions. Pond available for fishing. No swimming, wading or watercraft of any kind on pond. Children and pets must be supervised at all times and water safety strictly adhered. There is a small country market in Larkspur for light meals and coffee, about 3 miles away.. There is one horse on site at this time. There may be cattle within one of the pastures, as well. Please do not enter the pastures. The entrance to Sandstone Open Space with hiking trails is approximately 1 mile north on the west side of Perry Park/Highway 105. The Renaissance Festival is approximately 3 miles from the property.

With this site being around 3000 feet from the reservoir you will be able to enjoy all the amazing views and amenities the reservoir has to offer without the crowded camp grounds. You will need a park pass to access the reservoir but not to camp on the land. A 1/4 mile down the road is access to nation forest for going off road or get a parks pass and fish at one of the many amazing fisheries in the area like Eleven mile, Spinney and Eleven mile canyon. The south shore boat ramp is less than 4 miles away. This area does get windy so be careful setting up awnings and pop up tents or anything the wind likes to blow away. The site has a slight pitch but leveling out your camper should be relatively easy. No trees on the land to block your 360 degree mountain views.
