Sherwood Creek Campsite
Way off the beaten path
My family and I camp for weeks at a time every summer and we have stayed at every possible kind of campsite. Unfortunately, I can’t give a great recommendation for this one. The location is completely off the beaten path on a very rocky road (we drive a minivan), and GPS was no help. Luckily, we found an old wooden sign posted on a tree with the address—otherwise, we would have been out of luck as our host was out for the evening and didn’t respond to my messages (she had told us ahead of time she would be gone). We ended up missing 4th of July fireworks in Idaho Springs because, after finding the campsite and setting up, we knew we would not be able to find the location at night. Also, the tent spot was on an incline and there wasn’t much room for our boys to move and play. For $58/night, I would have expected at least a little bit more and would have liked more clear communication about how off the beaten path it was. It was beautiful, secluded, clean, and safe. Probably perfect for a couples getaway in a Jeep. I just felt it was a bit overpriced for the location and not the most suitable for families.

Sherwood Creek Quaint Treehouse
Peaceful and comfortable!
Such a perfect place for a bit of respite. Peaceful and quiet but still close enough to Nederland to pick up a bag of ice if needed. The pull-out futon was comfortable for the two of us and out kid slept in the loft bed. Having the trails right off the driveway (with so many wildflowers!) was also a lovely bonus. You could really tell a lot of love has been put into this place, with sweet details abound, and a well-crafted treehouse.

This place is amazing. My kids love the treehouse and the tiny house is super comfortable and cute.

We booked the entire site and it was beautiful. Our favorite things about the space were the trampoline and the doggo Nukka. Would book again :)

Sherwood Creek Campsite
Private tent site
The property is lovely, and Nukka the dog was a delight! My toddler especially loved her, and she was very patient with him. We enjoyed the privacy of the site and the sound of the creek, but could have used a bit more communication from the host and/or clear signage for water (there wasn’t much out when we arrived), and where to get the firewood. We ended up driving back into Nederland to get water and wood to be sure we’d have enough.

Sherwood Tiny House
Tiny house was a great 'in-between camping and cabin' option! Location is great with easy access to supermarket/restaurants in Nederland and surroundings, plenty of hiking options in Indian Peaks and Rockies.
