Very private in the cabin! And somehow feels remote, while still being right off the road for exploring! A perfect quiet get away with beautiful starry nights. Absolutely loved this spot! The small cabin is very comfortable & has everything you need in regard to chairs, cookware, etc. My only advice would be to be sure to know your way out because Google maps got me there easily but there’s no cell service so be sure to remember your way back. Beautiful lake & Tim was so helpful!

The bathrooms were.. fine.
Kids loved the pool which was an unexpected amenity.
The arcade was filled with of classic arcade games but unfortunately many were out of service because, well, they were 30-40 years old.
Lone Duck was comfortable, people were quiet and respectful, and overall completely adequate.

Definitely recommend this place. Tim is very welcoming. Missed him at check-in, but he came by later and we chatted for a good hour or so. Location is also a good spot, there is no signal, but town is about 20 minutes away and Woodland Park is about 30 minutes away. Right next to Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, which is one of Colorado's International Dark Sky Places. The hut itself is simple and rustic. Communal fire pit as well as canoes and kayak to use on the pond.

Beautiful place nestled in a mature aspen grove. We had a wonderful time
The appliances seemed brand new, and some things are still being dialed in, but this is not a typical cabin. It is indeed cozy--and quite spacious at the same time. The front and back decks are amazing--we spent equal time on each.
The property connects directly with public land--this offers the opportunity for greater exploration. Everything is uphill, but it is doable with a bit of effort. We climbed the 1000+ feet to the top of the mountain west of the property for stunning views of the Victor mine and Pikes Peak. Cell service was available quite a bit lower.
Jeff, the host, was responsive and super accommodating.
We'll be back!

My lovely lady and I booked a last minute get away from responsibilities trip here, jumped on my Harley and just winged it with a sleeping bag and essentials. It was the right decision and we enjoyed sitting at the fire late into the night conversing without the distractions of cell phones or the outside world. The host is down to earth and welcoming. The cabin is primitive and rustic which was exactly what we wanted and saved us from having to strap a tent to the bike also. Will definitely be back to enjoy this little slice of peace in the future! Cheers!

Beautiful campsite and convenient amenities! It wasn't clear in the ad that the fire pit was communal with several other campsites, and I never received responses from Tim throughout. Because the fire pit was communal it limited the space my family could setup out tent. But, Tim's friend Lana helped get us situated and we truly enjoyed our weekend! I would definitely recommend this site to anyone looking to camp near water, just be aware you may have guests.
